"Urgggh!", Logan groaned as he stirred awake. His eyes felt heavy and difficult to open. However, after a few tries, he opened them and immediately strained to look outside. A bright street light flashed in his vision which made him cover his eyes as he slowly got up. He looked around and realized that he was lying in the alley behind the casino. 'Weird', he thought and looked for Victor. However, he realized that there was no sign of him and he thought, 'Where is he? He was right here. D-Did he leave?'
He winced at the pain he was feeling all over his body even though all of his injuries had been healed thanks to his regenerative healing factor. He groaned and glanced at his hands which made him sigh. He raised his head and gazed at the moon while thinking, 'I need to get back to Kayla.'
. . .
In Xavier's School,
Kayla was lying on the bed in her room while reading a book. Her brows were furrowed as she was engrossed in the book when suddenly...
* KNOCK *
* KNOCK *
* KNOCK *
She snapped out of her reverie and glanced at the door when she heard someone knocking again. She removed the covers off of herself and placed the book on the bedside table. Getting out of the bed, she walked over to the door and looked through the peephole. When she saw that the person outside the door was Logan, she immediately unlocked the door and opened it. She glanced at his downcast expression, took his hand gently and closed the door behind him after he entered the room.
"What happened, babe?", she asked him while looking for any injuries on his body. Even though she knew that all of his injuries healed themselves quickly.
Logan didn't say anything and just silently stood in the middle of the room. Seeing him like that had made her worried and she made him sit on the bed and asked him worriedly, "What happened? Why aren't you saying anything?"
Logan still, didn't say anything. And he kept silent for a few seconds until he managed to say, "I-It's V-Victor."
"What about him? Did you get him?", she asked while using a cloth to wipe the dirt and blood off of his face.
If you encounter this tale on Amazon, note that it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
Logan shook his head and said, "No. I... don't think I can." He pointed at his hands and clenched them which caused his broken claws to emerge and the bleeding in his hands started again.
Kayla covered her mouth in shock and quickly used the cloth in her hand to stop the bleeding. But, no matter how much she tried, it wouldn't stop.
Logan sighed heavily and stood up from the bed, pushing Kayla away from himself slightly. He walked to the door, opened it and said, "I... need some time, Kayla. Alone."
Kayla watched him close the door after walking out of the room and her concerned expression vanished which changed into an emotionless face. She waited for a few seconds and then, walked to the window and saw him going out of the school. She turned around and walked to the telephone, inserted the device, picked it up and dialed the number. A few seconds later, the call connected and she said, "It's time."
On the other side, Stryker replied, "Good! I'd convince him to enter the Weapon X program."
. . .
Val was tinkering with some equipment in the basement of his mansion while thinking, 'I'm pretty sure Stryker would approach Logan and persuade him to accept being the Weapon X. I'm also pretty sure that Kayla would use her persuasion power to lower Logan's defenses and make him accept it. But, it isn't a bad thing which I need to stop from happening. Because Logan would get his Adamantium skeleton and I have solved the only bad thing in that which was him losing his memories. With the help of the Memory Sphere, Logan's memories would be stored and he wouldn't lose them completely. Even though in the movies, it was stated that he recovered all of his memories 20 or 30 years later.
After giving him and Victor the sphere and the NER, respectively, I put them back where they were fighting before. I did that to prevent them for being suspicious and think that somebody had knocked them out and did something to them while they were unconscious. Victor got up before Logan and upon seeing him on the ground, he took off immediately. He was probably being ordered to return back to Romulus.
Speaking of Romulus, if I consider the comics, he was a part of the Weapon X program. If the him of this universe is even a small bit similar to him of the comics, he would be present when the Adamantium is fused into Logan. And... that's where I would strike.'
He gazed at the armor on the table and grinned happily while thinking, 'I'm getting goosebumps when thinking about getting my hands on the indestructible metal that could withstand the full force of the Pheonix Force.'
. . .
In a small bar a few kilometers away from Xavier's school,
Logan slammed the glass on the table after taking a shot. He gazed at Stryker, sitting across from him and asked, "S-So, you're sayin' that this... metal could make me indestructible? Unstoppable? Somethin'... that I could use against Victor?"
Stryker smiled innocently and nodded as he replied, "Yes, Logan. But I have to warn you... you would learn that there's a whole new level of pain if you accept."
Logan stared at the glass and said, "Pain?" He looked up at Stryker and said, "I've been in pain ever since I got these claws," he pointed at his heart and continued, "There's nothin' more painful than this."
"So... you're in?"
"I'm in."
