Chapter 50.1: The Three Princesses of the Duchy of Viermont (Mael Pov)

Chapter 50.1: The Three Princesses of the Duchy of Viermont (Mael Pov)

“Wait, Ramia, do you remember what I said?” I whispered.

“Yes, I’ll do it properly, don’t worry.” She simply said trying to appear reassuring.

From how she was behaving it was like she wasn’t about to literally assault three of a certain duchy Princess.

All of this began four weeks ago,

Since that incident during the reception feast, and especially after we finished our coronation. Ramia and I spent a lot of time training ourselves with both Aina and Magic, though I wasn’t as good as Ronandt and Ramia with aina, I am pretty decent with magic.

Since we regained access to our magic, doing our training in the backyard of Grandfather Castle was no longer a possibility, so we had to find another location.

So, four weeks ago, during one of our training sessions, we ended up causing massive destruction on our training ground. It was completely unintentional, but the incident caused such a stir that our family couldn't ignore it anymore.

As a punishment, we were both lectured, grounded, and barred from seeing each other for a week. It was a trivial punishment, but it was a first for me; I had never been grounded before, let alone punished for misbehaving.

The one-week punishment flew by at a quick pace, at least for me, but I doubt Ramia felt the same way. Despite this, four days after our punishment was lifted, I have yet to hear from Ramia.

It was only when I visited her in her castle that I realized where the problem was.

The problem had three names and one particularly problematic family name.

Typhanie Weber

Melanie Weber

Daphnie Weber

These three girls were the Ducal Princesses of the Duchy of Viermont, the father of two of the girls was the Duke of the Duchy of Viermont, which was geographically adjacent to our Duchy, and the oldest girl is the daughter of the Duke's younger brother.

The Duke’s younger brother is currently guesting here in the Ducal Castle, the thing is that he is married to one of the daughters of the Faucher family, but there was a particular reason for him to be here.

After the event of the Night Ecarlate, many changes have been done within the duchy, especially with the massive exodus the duchy had to overcome.

It had for effect to reinforce the exchange intraductal within the Kingdom of Altaira, and the Duke’s little brother was appointed as ambassador of the Duchy of Viermont in our Duchy.

Meaning that I’m currently helping Ramia to assault the daughter of someone that important.

Ramia was unable to assist with our training because these girls were deliberately getting in her way. At first, I didn't believe Ramia when she said they were purposefully getting in her way; after all, they appeared pretty polite on the outside, but it was from there that the problem arose; while Ramia was grounded for being a true living cataclysm, they were behaving as the epitome of what a lady should be, belittling her as much as they could while keeping a good and polite image in front of everyone, causing Ramia to be prohibited by her mother, grandfather, and even great-grandfather to leave their castle for three-week supplementary, maybe expecting Ramia to learn from the triplet.

I don’t know what Ramia’s family was thinking by doing that, but did they really think that it wouldn’t end in a bloodbath. I’m even impressed that it didn’t happen earlier.

So instead of letting things degenerate beyond repair, I decided to offer Ramia my help, to dispose of them.

Suddenly I heard footsteps approaching on the other side of the corridor, I was firstly taken aback by its sudden appearance, but quickly relaxed by the hearing of its short and rapid resonance.

The owner of the footsteps revealed himself shortly after, it belonged to a young boy no older than seven years old, he had blonde hair and crimson eyes like Ramia’s and her dad’s.

“Big Brother Mael? what are you doing here?” The boy was surprised to see me here.

The boy was Elliel, Ramia’s little brother, they had absolutely nothing in common, except maybe their red eyes.

“Good morning Elliel. I was just visiting … ” I lied.

He then glanced at the door behind me, and then his face turned into a dejected one.

What could they have done to him again?

“Did they do something to you?” I asked;

“Who?”

“The Weber sisters.”

“Oh~ no it’s just that …. “

“No need to say it. You don’t like them right?”

He hesitantly acquiesced.

“Me … too.”

“Now that I think of it, where are you going running like this?” From the sound of his footsteps, I knew that it was going somewhere in a hurry, halting only when he noticed me.

“I was … “ He then looked at the book in his hand. “I was about to find a quiet place to read my book.”

“I see.”

I wasn’t particularly familiar with Elliel, given that he used to spend most of his time in his mother’s hand. Given how overprotective her mother was with him, I never had any real opportunities to really interact with him.

But it all changed one year and a half ago. When he was just six-year, during a simple dispute, nothing really big, in fact it was just a motherly teasing, It happened.

Out of nowhere, he attacked his mother, or maybe it would be exact to say that his mana was suddenly unleashed on his mother.

The damage she received was significant, but not life-threatening, and because I was present in the castle at the time, I was able to heal her almost immediately after the accident.

We still have no idea of what exactly happened but it is believed that something happened to the person who has officiated his baptismal.

The person in question is the same one who officiated both our baptismal and Coronation of Ramia and me.

That masked woman.

Vicar Serena. She was present that night when they picked Ronandt up . I know that she was close to grandfather but we were forbidden to ask anything about her just like Ronandt.

Whatever happened to her, because of that it caused Elliel to have access to his magic before even going through his coronation.

With the help of his grandfather, his father, and his great grandfather he’s become capable of controlling his magic but it didn’t simply mean that everything was resolved as if by magic..

It happens so quickly and for such a short period of time, and it wasn't even his fault, but it was enough to permanently mark a child like him.

I learned from Ramia that he has been avoiding his mother since then, as well as everyone else, including castle servants.

I doubt the servants are even assisting him because I can imagine how terrified some of them must be just by seeing him.

I'm not in a position to pretend to understand what he's going through, but I have an idea of how difficult it must be for him. But I can at least offer my assistance.

“Say, Elliel, why would you not join us for our training session today?”

“I don’t think I can… ”

“Don't worry, everything will be fine. I mean, we're talking about Ramia and me. So, what are your thoughts? Are you going with us or... ?” I threw a glance at his book.

After a while, he finally acquiesced. “But wasn’t Ramia grounded here for some time?”

“Oh~ for that don’t worry, we're trying to fix the problem.” We both glanced at the door, behind me. “Don’t worry even if we don’t get permission, we’ll just go by ourselves, what they’re going to do, ground us even more?”

Elliel looked at me for a long moment, surprised by what I just said.

I was even surprised by what just came out of my mouth.

“Allez hop, get yourself a new set of clothes, the one you’re wearing won’t do.”

“Aaah… understood.” He said heading back to where he came from.

A few instants after Elliel departure, came out of the room, covered with blood.

“How was it?” I asked, immediately grabbing her hands covered with blood to perform my healing magic and remove the blood staining her clothes.

“Easy.”She said jokingly; “Okay~Okay, I did it as we agreed, I knocked both three of them, they are now unconscious, if you don’t hurry I’m afraid they might go to a better place.”

~Aaaah this girl seriously.

Upon entering the room, I was welcomed by a bloody yet tidy mess.

Each of the girls was disfigured, barely alive.

To begin with, I retrieved three bottles from my bag.

Using my blood manipulation magic, I retrieved blood spilled on the ground and going as far as taking some from their wounds.

Once I got a sufficient quantity, I brought them on their bed, and I performed my healing magic on them, making sure to keep them in a way that would keep them in a sort of temporary coma several times before they would naturally wake up. There were teeth scattered here and there, so I meticulously picked them up.

I then retrieved the last thing from my bag, a bottle of alcohol, I made them inhale the liquid until the bottle was half empty. With that done I left the bottle in the embrace of one of the girls, Typhanie, the eldest sister.

After verifying throughout that everything was in order, I left the room.

“How was it “doctor”?” Ramia, who was waiting for me outside, asked teasingly.

I knew she was at the same time referring to the fact that I healed them and the fact that I had retrieved this blood from them.

I wonder what will be her reaction when she learns about the news of the triplet being so drunk that they passed out.

I showed her the content of my bag and she let out a small giggle.

I’m sure she thinks that I overdid with the amount of blood I took from them.

I retrieved that blood from the Weber sister for a reason: I realized that my blood magic has a different effect depending on the type of blood I use.

I needed these noble's blood to test a theory I have about my blood manipulation magic.

I'm aware that what I did was horrible in every way, but it was for me to grow stronger; I am weak, and I know that these selfish and pathetic excuses I’m making right now, but never ever again, I'll accept being so helpless as I was that night.
