Chapter 102: Settling scores Part 02

Chapter 102: Settling scores Part 02

Light elemental magic.

Easily the element tied with purity, destruction, speed and even at time healing.

Where the healing part came from, I don’t know, it doesn’t make any sense to me but that somehow how it works.

For monster light elemental, while still attributed with speed, is also frequently associated with savagery and viciousness.

Light elemental magical beasts are known for their destructive temperament, it is commonly accepted that if one were to stumble upon a light elemental magical beast, it would be equal to stumbling upon an horrible and gory death.

He was merely several meters away from him, so I did what I thought was appropriate. I closed the distance, or at least I tried. From the moment I got closer, I was welcomed by a beam of light. He fired at a distance from the tip of his spear.

By simply bending my upper-body backward, I evaded his attack.

“Close one.”

That attack this time was clearly aiming for my head.

Immediately after having launched that attack he started to move around at an incredible speed.

He sprinted-no it would be wrong to refer to what he was doing as sprinting, he was simply moving around like a stream of light in the dark.

It was most likely even faster than how fast Solomon was, to be fair there were no comparison here, on the other hand, we had we had a man was only using aina and on the other a man using an elemental magic that is supposed to represent the fastest thing on the universe

It was the kind of speed that naked eyes would let you see only but blurs and a tray of light, that was how fast it was.

He didn’t come at me personally, instead, countless beams flew at from spots he passed through.

These beams of light came at me faster than a blink of an eye.

Visually they might’ve looked fierce but as matter of fact they felt weak compared to Heon’s usually mighty beam.

With swings of my sword, I meanderously blocked each one of the beams flying at me. Yet, immediately another round was fired at me, twice if not thrice the number than the one from earlier.

Blocking that much would be impossible or at least a pain in the arse so, so I decided to avoid them.

“Tsk.”

Wherever the beam landed a fire ripples along with a powerful reverberating explosion would be felt.

Using the speed provided by his light magic, he appeared in an instant on one spot and the next moment on another, all that while drawing a very safe distance between him and me.

I ran, but avoiding those beams was like avoiding rainwater, on top of that that bastard was firing more and more of them.

Feinting to be merely avoiding his attack, I pretended to run aimlessly back and forth with the intent of simply not being hit, when in fact I was waiting for the perfect opportunity.

The bastard was in constant movement, trying to use speed to overwhelm me. Jumping from one spot to another from he would fire his attack.

And soon the opportunity presented itself to me. He went to a corner, I expected him to appear. With beams still hunting me down, I suddenly stopped, propelled me backward, slithered through his attacks, straight at his location.

My blade swung at him, the attack came unexpected to him but he still managed to protect himself from being cut in two equally downward by using the length of his spear.

Though not being able to use the momentum to instantly end this fight, I was still making my way to overpower his defense, being so close, by mere brute force, I was the one who had the upper hand, no doubt about in close combat, I was superior to him, unlike Solomon, if one were to remove his magic from this person, I would instantly defeated this person.

The only problem was that his magic was quite troublesome

A huge amount of mana was gathered throughout all of his body, so a rain of powerful attack is to be expected, especially one that seems that one could easily foresee coming out of his right eye to fire a powerful yet very concentrated attack, also .

With I immediately withdraw myself away from him, and not even a second after,

“Die, Haaaaaaaah!” He screamed;

“Tsk.”

A small powerful streak of light particles the size flew straight at a tetanizing speed for my face, to somewhere behind me with an explosion that shook the entire immense cavity we were in.

I was able to avoid the attack from severing my head in one blow, but thank god that attack’s shaft was so concentrated, if it weren’t for that I would’ve been entirely engulfed by that attack.

Not satisfied with his missed attack, the man followed with a rain of arrow-like light bolts, which despite their sheer quantity, I had little difficulty defending against, but it was immediately followed by another wave of powerful attack that took the form of nine giant lance-like projectiles.

“Nine Lances of Aurora!” He screamed as he unleashed his attack on me. “DIE!”

In less than a fraction of a second, the lances all came at me at almost the same time. Not all of them were aimed at me; six of them were aimed in every direction I could possibly take in an attempt to evade, while the remaining three were clearly aimed at me.

Evading those attacks not being an option, I braced myself, for what I knew was going to happen.

The nine lance pierced its way onto me with a nine consecutives giant explosion. Light filled the space and annihilated everything in the surrounding area. Earth became shrapnel and the air brought violent quakes, and electrified itself making breathing itself something impossible feat, everything around me melted under the scorching heat of the explosion, filling the whole place with smoke if it didn’t with fire, rambles were falling from above indicating that the whole giant cavity was about to fell apart, in fact, I was impressed that it held this far.

I braced myself for what I knew was going to happen because evading those attacks was not an option.

With nine consecutive giant explosions, the nine lance pierced its way onto me. Light flooded the room, annihilating everything in its path. The earth became shrapnel, and the sheer force of the blow caused violent quakes, electrifying and igniting the surrounding air, making breathing impossible. Everything around me melted under the scorching heat of the explosion, filling the entire place with smoke if not fire, rambles were falling from above suggesting that the entire giant cavity was about to fall apart, in fact, I was impressed that it held this far.

The destructive power behind that attack was spectacular, and would’ve made its way through the annals of history if someone were to witness it.

However, witnessed or not, all stories must have an end. The light that had only swelled began to calm, and disappeared like specks of dust.

The flashiness of that attack having calmed down, and the smokescreen having settled the aftermath and result of that attack was finally clearly visible.

From the man, I could feel the glare full with murderous intent.

“How?! "Why are you still alive...?!" The man shouted as he drifted back to the ground.

His reaction was very understandable given how powerful that attack was.

From the incandescent ramble, I stepped forward.

Completely unharmed.

“Though your spear’s skill is quite questionable, that amount of mana, those attacks, impressive, I can’t deny you that. I was quite unsure how to take this fight, but with your attack, I could feel your determination to kill me, I respect that. Which is why I shall take this fight as one between two warriors.”

Garding my sword, I began gathering the component needed for my Friendship Aina Beam, though the name was awfully cringy, one couldn’t deny the power behind it, especially with the one whole year we spent at improving it.

“Which means you’d better take me more seriously or else, your defeat will taste more bitter than what I intended to make it to be.”

“Tsk.”

As if, taking my advice quite literally, the man started pouring an immense amount of mana within the spear of his, it had I could feel, an intensity similar to the nine lances from earlier but combined into one.

I brandished my sword and readied myself to make him taste one of my favorite attacks.

While he prepared his attack, it also gave me enough time to prepare mine.

“Sunshine!”

He lept backward into the air as if to give himself a more powerful moment, then threw his spear highly embedded with light onto me.

“Sunshine!”

I held this sword, my sword well above my head, its blade was embedded with an immense vortex of lightning, intertwining chaotically but also harmoniously along the length.

“Taste this! Beam of Friendship!”

In response to his, I unleashed my attack.

His light enhanced attack, my lightning and wind attack met instantly. The whirling air around us screamed, letting all around in several miles radius know that the two extremely powerful attacks were completely released and clashed with each other.

Our attack raced out and crashed into each other. The two streams of light, like surging waves with simply the purpose of destruction, attempted to swallow one another.

The destructive power between the two were awfully evenly matched, but there was one difference between the two of our attacks that made the balance tilt onto one side.

His attack came to me with the intent to finish me, in the form of a powerful projected spear embedded with insanely powerful light magic, in other words essentially a simple projectile containing an immense power, whereas in my case.my sword, my FaB, my body were connected as one.

Using the momentum, the stalemate between our attack provided, like a lightning bolt, I deftly cut through his “Sunshine”, redirected his spear, and slithered my way to him.

It all happened in less than three breaths.

“OFF YOU GO!”

“WHAT!!”

Coming from above him, I cleaved my sword onto his clavicula, cut through his armor, then the omoplata to its way down below.

His body was blasted onto the ground, then propelled several hundred meters away further.

“That was fast.”

“What a stupid idea is it to throw away one’s weapon like that.”

“Well, he did believe that it would’ve been enough to get the job done.”

“Let’s just hope that this will get him to take me more seriously.”

“Oh, with that blow, I’m pretty he will.”

Not even a breath has passed that something happened where the man crashed toward.

Blinding light sparkled from his body, and fire were dancing where he stood amidst which the man was standing there glaring at us menacingly, but it wasn’t all-

“Well, well, if that isn’t healing magic.”

The man, having been dealt damage that literally cleaved his body in half a few moments earlier, was now self-healing himself.

Pretty convenient ability, if one were to ask me.

It didn’t take him long to finish healing himself up.

This self-healing ability didn’t come to big surprise to us, after all, if we did confront their children, then among which two were capable of using healing magic, then they must’ve inherited that from someone somehow.

Their mother didn’t display any healing ability of any sort, so we were left with only him.

I came here fully prepared to face someone with healing magic, so this display was nothing I had to be surprised about.

The enraged and cathartic loud breathing and the palpable killing intent the man released that thing was about to get serious.

And he didn’t miss a second to prove me right.

Having completely healed from his wound, the man grew on his back a pair of giant golden feathered wings, of by grew I meant magically-made wings, each of its wings lengthened easily up to two meters.

Those wings magically-made were emitting a dazzling radiance that made him look like some sort of enlightened divinity.

Something is coming.

“AAAAHHHHH!”

Screaming like a maddened beast, a man using his flew several meters backward into the air, then once again with a powerful flapping which caused a small explosion due to its power, sent out a rain of fist-sized light projectiles.

Using my sword as a shield, I protected myself from the incoming barrage of attack, I was able to withstand the first wave but the second one made me lose my anchor.

I was blown backwards, yet instead of rolling around clumsily, I simply leapt back.

Retook footing, and immediately received the next round of projectiles with my sword.

“He feels tougher than before, don’t you think?”

“Sure he is.”

I could feel it to my core this man was in an entirely different league than before.

Beating him would be more of a challenge than expected.

“So, we’re gonna do the thing.”

“Yes, but not before, I make him taste that.”

“What about Nia?”

It was a strange thing to ask, but he was right for asking it.

“As long as I don’t mess up. It should be fine.”

“It’s all up to you then. Just tell me when, it would be time for “that”.”

“Okay.”
