Chapter 36: Cat's Degenerate Dragon

Chapter 36: Cat's Degenerate Dragon

“So what does this one do?”

The cat asks while pointing her cane towards what could only be called a humanoid with a squid sitting atop their neck instead of a head. Those tendrils from its face reared up as it lifted its hand towards her. She instantly felt something trying to break into her mind… Yet she didn’t have just one mind.

Fight me.

Cat shit, get banned~!

Aw~ it’s kind’a cute that it tried so pathetically to take over prime.

Stupid is still stupid.

But stupid is cute.

Everything is stupid to us!

Well that just makes everything cute to us.

Cheshire just grinned at her other selves arguing, not really taking notice of the pitiful mental attack since that was the one place she could claim to be unparalleled, just letting them go. Although they were all technically the same person; there were actually plenty of slight differences between them. Like the slight difference in software between computers that share the same OS & hardware.

It was slight but most of their personalities were slightly different due to the differing experiences they had gone through; though there were also those who were massively different due to never “breaking”.

A slight bit of envy appeared in the eyes of the cat yet she quickly recovered as she had no regrets about anything that she did in the past. Would she rather not be forced into bad situations? Who can say, at the very least, her newfound knowledge of multiple possible “hers” with slight differences allowed her to realise one very important fact.

Her struggles made her who she was and she was proud of who she was.

Finally she focused back on reality only to see a pouting Alice who poked the now convulsing monster with her sheathed sword. Purple blood seeped out from the pupiless yellow eyes as well as from under the wildly flaying tendrils from its head. Although Cheshire didn’t believe the beast was actually alive - most likely just twitching due to lingering information coming out from its overwhelmed brain.

Its body only moved due to the mind having so much information pouring into it but could only transfer so much data at once. A bandwidth issue leading to the “hardware” getting information from an already long dead processor. That same mass of data frying the processor.

“Oh, it's dead.”

Told you it was weak.

No one disagreed with you!

At least it can no longer be called cute.

Dead things can be cute.

Nuh uh.

Yuh huh.

Nuh uh.

Yuh huh.

||| SHUT! |||

“Hm… It died… Did I overlook something when creating it?”

Tilting her head as she returned her sword to her waist… Only to squat down and begin poking its body all over with her finger; actually sending pulses of her infinite energy throughout its body in some weirdly clever form of autopsy. Although the girl quickly got bored as her childish curiosity outgrew her patience to complete such a complex & delicate task.

Soon the aura that sharpened her blunt blade formed atop her fingers - digging her fingers into the body of the monster as she literally tore him open. Her aura exuded from her body to grant her sight despite her eyes being closed. Washing over every inch of every cell without worry about any long term damage she may do in her defilement of her creations corpse.

“That’s unusual~ his brain seems to have overloaded the rest of his body resulting in his arteries explosively bursting while even damaging their veins. Arteries and veins are far thinner than that of a human due to needing to expand more when…”

Mumbling to herself as she exclaimed the dead creature that only she knew all the details about; watching a kid she taught eagerly explore new knowledge? She couldn’t think of a better way to possibly spend her evening even with all herselves on the job. A rocking chair shot out the shadows to cradle her little bottom as she lay back and watched the “little” girl hard at work.

Resting her cane atop her lap as she closed her eyes in order to silently enjoy the murmurs of her genius disciple of sorts.

“So, you never answered, what was such a creature even supposed to do~?”

Casually asking with all the passiveness of an old woman who had long accepted their fate but still enjoying what little time they had to watch the next generation. Alice in turn “looked” up from the body to see the curious cat with no guard up. Remaining in a strangely comfortable quiet for a moment.

“Well its physical body is actually quite weak as it focuses more on its telekinetic powers. They cannot reproduce themselves so they use their mental-based powers to take control over the minds of other races to do their bidding while using their females to breed with their big fat d-”

“-I SEE!”

Abruptly sitting up in her chair to purposefully interrupt the perverted goddess from finishing her (quickly escalating) explanation for the monster. Her brow unconsciously twitched. That monster certainly revealed some things that she didn’t previously know or want to know about this strange immature goddess.

“Very interesting but maybe you should make something less… Kinky?”

“Kinky?”

Cutely tilting her head to the side with a finger resting on her chin. Almost looking completely innocent despite being quite far from it - Cheshire finding her brow unconsciously twitching more & more when it came to this little devious divine dragon. She couldn’t quite tell if that mischievous newt was truly clueless or just messing with her.

“Well what about those ugly little green guys over there?”

Pointing her cane towards a group of loincloth wearing green people with big hooked noses on smaller bodies than even her own. Their arms were a bit more long & gangly while their eyes were bigger with even larger pupils than normal - which translated to them looking a little dumb. They also lived up to their appearance as Cheshire regularly noticed them using their sharp stones/weapons to charge on other monsters who, just from size alone, far outclassed these little fellas.

Though, unlike with him…

||| It really doesn’t work out for them. |||

Such events usually resulted in the funny little fellas running away with their hands in their air all the while screaming in an “interesting“ language (mostly based on grunts) that was unknown to the cat.

“Oh~ these guys are pretty weak but they reproduce real quickly if with really bad hygiene… Unfortunately there are no females so they are forced to capture and use women of other races as their breeders with the slight problem that they’re not very intelligent so can’t tell the difference most of the time. Their powerful musk even makes it hard to thi-!”

“Okay~ I think we’ve had enough creativity for one day~!”

Alice pouted at being denied her “creative liberties” yet Cheshire knew she couldn’t relent, else reality itself may become akin to a smut novel in the future.

Deviant dragon!

Aberrant amphibian!

Slutty salamander!

Naughty newt!

Fortunately they didn’t need to remain on that topic for very long; a wormhole opened up as a familiar owl came strutting out with a conflicted expression upon her face. Cheshire raised a brow since usually it was one of the corvids that were used as little information couriers instead of her numero uno. Although she didn’t stand up as she felt as if this news was better taken when she was sitting down.

“Why are you so serious - is there anything we can't deal with - we apparently have the true god herself on our side nyehehe~?”

That was meant to embarrass the dragoness however she instead proudly puffed out her massive chest.

“Shuten Doji has shown up with a parade of powerful oni…”

She paused for a moment as she turned toward the goddess who had turned back to dismantling the monster carcass with a child-like gleeful smile on her lips. Almost innocent if not for the blood that splattered across her face as she tore the arm off the weird tentacle creature. Certainly not the first time the aberrant amphibian had taken pleasure in removing someone's arm.

“Oh… That is problematic.”

Tapping her chin as she brought her cane to rest upon the ground once more, pushing herself up using that very cane.

“We can’t leave our important guests unattended to, afterall nyahahaha~!”

Her confidence bringing comfort to the worried bird of prey; Cheshire turning back to the dragon.

“You’re coming as well~.”

“Aw… Okay.”
