| 【MV】 OBKATIEKAT - Stabbing in the Dark【COVER】
For the first time in his entire life, Photon felt… Death.
A looming presence that manifested in the form of this strange ‘Navy’ who floated in front of him; the world itself seemed to be quaking in fear at the coming end. The scent of decay drifted into the lion’s nose while the sky rumbled in terror - clouds blacker than any he had seen before slammed down on the ground below as if marking someone's desperate attempt to stumble away from him. None of this came as a shock to the angel of slaughter who sheathed his massive blade in favour of running his hands through his perfectly symmetrical hair.
His hair became increasingly messy due to his grooming, due to how immaculate it previously was, as the screams and groans below seemed almost like a backtrack for this musician of massacre. Photon knew that this was a foe that held more secrets than even his own sister… Yet he also knew he couldn’t stand back here.
Fortunately it seemed the psycho had patience as he placed a decaying rose between his teeth while looking into the reflection of a throwing knife.
Just in time a familiar bird flew up behind with her weapons already drawn but it was clear to the big cat that she would be no help in a battle of this scale. Nobody could be. He wasn’t even sure if he was enough to hold back this menace however he wanted to be just like the hero in those stories.
To protect the weak who had no one else.
“W-who is that?!”
“Apparently he calls himself… Navy… Which is a very unoriginal name, all things considered.”
The lion said in a lighthearted fashion that didn’t bellay his inner thoughts.
Something about the way that name just came off his lips felt right; not that he exactly had time to ponder on his feelings on that matter. Instead he raised his shield to brace for whatever was next. The anxious bird jumped at his movement yet still raised her curved blades that Photon knew would never be able to touch someone as skilled as this man.
Just in their short bout he had felt that the man, despite having so many weapons, was not like your regular jack of all master of none. Obviously he couldn’t confirm but his deft movements alone indicated he was very much a master of what he had shown so far. It wouldn’t surprise him at this point if this Navy could even use their own weapons better than even they could.
“What… What do we do?”
Her words brought him out of his own mind to notice that the man wasn’t merely playing around… He was waiting like a predator knowing they would get their pound of flesh one way or another.
“Go rescue the hostages of the dragons and retreat with them as well as the other mortals; no need to worry as I’ll deal with this bwahaaha~!”
Despite him likely being more anxious than anyone else - having understood far more than them on the fact this man was seemingly holding back till now - he showed no fear. His voice never faltered as even the pauses he took came across as being more due to him being in no rush. Of course he was actually just hoping from the numbness in his shield hand to pass with the extra time he bought.
Seeing the confidence made the bird instantly calm down enough to nod with a smile. Flapping the wings that had appeared on her back, sending her flying back down to the forming mountain range, without realising that the eyes within the lion’s helm briefly shook. The reason was that his opponent was done.
No longer bothering to put up an act of uncaring as he stared directly into Photon’s eyes.
For a moment the lion even though he saw a…
“Are you done wasting my time - I haven’t got all day - but I waited since learning your name will certainly be worth it~♪”
Photon shook away his strange thoughts about the young man in front of him; his grip did tighten on his gear as he showed his confidence by revealing himself from behind his shield. Swinging with his spear to cause some of the rubble to fly aside. Hopefully helping with the rescue operations below.
“Well it was rather rude nevertheless I could hardly leave all those people to their demise so you’ll have to forgive me for the late introduction - I am Photon - the future hero of this world and all others!”
Charging his energy into the massive lance before thrusting it up as if to challenge the heavens - causing the clouds above him to vanish and shine the light of the sun upon those around him.
*clap*
*clap*
*clap*
It seemed like the man in front of him was a fan of the theatrics as he actually began to clap with a smile.
“Very nice showmanship~♪”
“Honestly, why do we even need to fight; it seems like both of us are enemies to those drakes and they have been pretty much dealt with already so why not team up?”
In return for his question a throwing knife came flying towards him from the man seemingly flicking his sleeve after he finished clapping. Such a natural move, just sorting out his sleeves, caused the lion to be caught off guard. However, he still managed to knock the projectile aside with his shield. Yet the moment his sight was taken away led to the Navy appearing right below him with two push daggers living up to their name as they headed straight for his solar plexus.
The blow didn’t piece his armour nevertheless it caused the wind to be knocked out his lungs as his opponent moved his arms to let those daggers slide back down into his sleeves. He didn’t simply hide his weapon though - utilising the moment to grab two handles from his back which he unsheathed while stepping backwards in the air while leaning forward.
Those twin curved scimitar came flying out like a pair of axes with the intention to execute him; Photon didn’t want to rely on his ability to take damage either. Every single attack was truly filled with the maximum power possible. LIke his body was always charged up and ready to unleash any special move.
His massive body gave him one advantage over the man and that was he would always be in reach as long as ranged combat wasn’t taken!

Lifting his knee in hopes to impact the man’s gut even if it meant those blades would at least scrape the lion helm that guarded everything about his shoulders. It seemed that psycho wasn’t as willing to take the trade as he tucked his feet up to meet the knee. Kicking away to avoid any damage as he dropped one of his swords only to use his own knee to send it flying toward the hero.
Once again Photon’s shield proved it’s worth but this time he wasn’t caught off guard - slowly getting used to this tricky fighting style - allowing him to attack at the same time while he defended. Thrusting his lance forward to send a spear of light to skewer the man. He simply shifted his body while using his remaining sword to guide the attack to narrowly miss his torso.
“That’s why~♪”
Answering a question Photon had already forgotten he had even asked.
Neither did he care as all worries forever had left his mind; all that remained was the fight and the opponent in front of him. Charging toward the angel of the end with his shield raised. A golden film covered him as he bulldozed right through the spree of knives that flew towards him.
Navy clearly wasn’t dumb enough to take that attack head on so backed away in hopes that the lion would run out of steam. Having noticed that they were too close for moving to the side even if he also tried his luck however Photon just followed him. Even more eye opening was the fact that he only became progressively faster like he was some kind of steam engine.
[Shield Rush]
It was a simple technique that relied on one pushing forward with absolute confidence that they could soak up any damage thrown at them; something no one really could do while in the right mind.
Fortunately he was Cheshire’s adorable younger brother.
No matter what manoeuvres Navy tried, no matter what weapon he hit Photon with, the crazy cat just kept pushing through it all with a bellowing laugh. It didn’t take too long for him to no longer be able to outrun the lion who slammed the shield into him… Only to still continue to run forward!
Having tried to use the remains of the mountain earlier - he found himself being run through the terrain as the divine aura burned at his heretical self. Truly like a bug on a windshield. The strain on someone's stamina this technique demanded was no less colossal than the bravery needed but both were things that the hero in training had plenty of.
All the Navy could do was laugh at his almost comical predicament as he tried to summon thorns to trip over the knight yet the knight just charged forward.
He tried stabbing around the shield yet the knight just charged forward.
He tried to strangle the knight out like earlier yet the knight just charged forward.
He tried to trick him into discussing a truce yet the knight just charged forward.
Not that he was out of tricks.
“I judge you must be feeling pretty tired!”
Suddenly Photon felt that the strange attacker’s judgement was certainly accurate; despite all his vitality he was beginning to feel the weight of his continuous use of this special move. Deciding it was time to try ending this he suddenly halted. Sending Navy flying forward while Photon focused his energy again.
This time on his shield.
“[Shield Bash]!”
Even Navy was forced to widen his eyes in shock at the force imparted by this basic technique that merely converted one's defence into offensive knockback.
For most just an innocent bump backwards due to the ratio being trash.
*BOOOOOOOOOOOM*
Photon was not “most”.
What was once a summithad become a mountain range and now, in the north, there was now a flat plane surrounded by mountains on three sides with a wide open beach on the northern most point. Finally the lion let the weight of his shield plunge into the ground as he rested his lance atop his shoulder. He didn’t exactly have free range of movement with his neck so he turned his hips to gaze at the destruction.
He was still a boy at heart; hero or not.
Against all expectations… He still stood there.
“You undying bastard…”
“Oh… You don’t know the half of it~♪”
His clothing had seen better days as an ungodly amount of weapons had fallen to the ground due to his specially crafted garb being shredded to pieces. The only thing that remained was his pants while he held his trident to point toward the lion & his titan sword that rested on his shoulder. Not for long though.
Heaving the sword up and twirling it on the ground caused it to fall into the earth like a knife through butter with him using his newly freed hand to tear off what remained of his obi. Leaving him truly just stood there with his baggy black pants covering his legs. Not like there was anything for the menace to really be ashamed of; his body was truly covered from head to toe in finely crafted lean muscle.
He didn’t look like a bodybuilder and it was easy to overlook his muscles… But it was most certainly an attractive body that focused completely on balance; at least a fitting build for the macabre menace.
Navy glanced towards his titan sword whose guard basically crumbled there and there.
“Well that sucks…”
Letting out a sigh as he brought his pole-arm to rest behind his neck; balanced between his bent arms that in turn balanced upon the pole-section.
Eventually coughing out to crimson wisps of flame.
Clearly both were affected by their confrontation despite sharing a smile.
“Sucky thing about cultivation Heavenly Dao is that it strangely seems unbalanced in my body; like missing that last piece to the puzz-”
That menace of a man stopped with a raised bow as he looked down to see an apparently blunt blade skewering him right through his heart. He strangely seemed bothered by the attack but his nose unconsciously twitched as the smile on his face faded for the first time. The one responsible not noticing as she appeared behind him with the sound of shattering glass.
“You’re meant to kill your opponent, not take them out for dinner, Photon ohohoho~.”
Photon didn’t respond but instead grew stern behind his helm - raising his shield once more.
“Why do I smell their blood…”
