Chapter 48: White Knight Leader vs. Main Character

In the afternoon, the practice ground was already crowded. The Elexia Academy students were almost all there, and even some of the teachers seemed to be around the practice field seats. All the first year F rank students were also there to watch Hayato's duel.

The members of the White Knights were also there to watch their leader fight. Meanwhile, Gill and Hayato were already on the field. Gill already had his sword in his hand, as well as Hayato who was ready with his sword.

"The fight will be considered over if one of you claims defeat, death, or unconsciousness," said Bara, who was in charge of supervising the duel. He slowly turned his eyes to Gill, "Is the prince ready?" Bara asked.

"I am," Gill replied.

"Are you ready?" asked Bara as he looked at Hayato.

"Of course," replied Hayato as he wiped his fringe.

"Don't fart in here," said Bara as he retreated to the side of the field.

"Tch. He's just like any other NPC!" Hayato grumbled quietly. "Just watch, they'll be amazed when my hidden power rises against Gill," Hayato muttered as he turned his gaze to Gill.

"The duel begins!" Bara shouted as he signaled with a wave of his hand.

Hayato and Gill immediately jumped back to keep their distance, standing and exchanging glances from a distance of ten meters.

"You can attack me anytime," Gill said without drawing his sword.

"It should be a main character like me who says that!" said Hayato while drawing his sword.

Hayato immediately stuck his sword into the ground in front of him. He also extended his left hand in front of him. Seven ice spears began to form in the air right at Hayato's upper left side, shortly after Hayato stretched his right hand forward. Seven flaming fireballs began to form on the upper right side of Hayato's head.

"I didn't think he could use one of the rare elements," Nova said when she saw that Hayato could use the Ice Element.

"But what's the point of him using two opposing elements like that? Wouldn't his attacks just destroy each other?" muttered Elena.

"I hope you're not stupid enough to attack me with two opposing elements like that," Gill said.

"Hahaha... the main character's will never be made a fool of, nor will everyone like it. The real attack will come after this, Prince Gill," Hayato said while slapping his palms together. "Eternal Illusion!" Hayato shouted.

At that moment, the fireball burning above Hayato's head instantly hit the seven ice spears nearby. A small crackling sound could be heard along with the thick white mist created by the collision of the two elements, and Hayato's body was now completely enveloped by the white mist.

"What is he doing? I didn't see that coming," Gill muttered with a suspicious look on his face.

"He's doing it again," Raff muttered quietly as he saw that Hayato's actions were the same as when he faced the ambushers in the dungeon.

Slowly, the white mist that surrounded Hayato began to dissipate. Hayato's figure was still standing casually with both hands resting on the hilt of the sword he had stuck into the ground. Hayato seemed to be smiling happily as he looked at Gill.

"Don't you want to surrender now, Prince Gill?" asked Hayato.

"What do you mean, you think you've won?" replied Gill, giving Hayato a sharp look.

"Yes. I've won this time, you've been hit by my deadly skill," Hayato replied with a grin.

"What did you say?" said Gill with a shocked look on his face.

"Exactly what I said. You're already under the influence of my skill, I can kill you whenever I want. But I don't want to do it to you because you are the son of King Luiz Ruttera Livsirg, a person I respect very much," Hayato replied.

If you stumble upon this tale on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

"You think I'm afraid? If you really can kill me, just do it now, I don't even feel any danger from you right now," Gill said.

"My attack can't be seen or felt by you, so you won't feel any danger from me. I ask for your understanding, it's best if the prince just gives up, I don't want to get into trouble if I finish you off here," Hayato persuaded again.

For a moment, Gill was silent and stared at Hayato. Then Gill released the mana in his body, a wave of wind began to blow from where Gill was standing. The gravel and dust around his feet began to fly into the air.

"Don't joke with me, if you can kill me, do it. My family won't interfere because this is my decision and the laws of Elexia Academy prevent them from judging you!" Gill challenged.

"Hahaha... then I'll tell you one thing, Prince. Right now your life is in my hands, if I decide to kill you, you will die instantly. You won't feel any pain, but you will die anyway," Hayato said loudly while laughing.

"So I hope you can be wise and accept defeat. The mana in my body is low, but my skills are deadly. That is why I was able to defeat Electro Skullix and return with my body intact and without any injuries," Hayato continued with a serious look on his face.

At that moment, all the students were surprised to hear Hayato's explanation, while Raff smiled broadly and tried to hold back his laughter. Bara and the other teachers looked surprised to hear Hayato's words. Meanwhile, Nia immediately sighed deeply while holding her head.

"He really doesn't hesitate to lie," Nia thought while shaking her head.

"Is what he said true?" muttered Lola who looked surprised.

"What do you think, Lilya?" asked the male dwarf sitting in the teacher's row.

"He's lying, Gomr," replied the elf sitting in the teacher's section.

"Eh? Really? It's hard to believe when he's so sure of himself," Gomr replied with a shocked look on his face.

"I'd be fooled too if I hadn't lived for five hundred years," Lilya replied, giving Hayato a sharp look.

The students began to get noisy as they discussed Hayato's words. Meanwhile, Gill still seemed to be standing in his seat, staring at Hayato. Slowly, Gill began to grip the hilt of the sword in his hand.

"You better not think about attacking me, Prince Gill Ruttera Livsirg. I will have no choice but to kill you if you insist on fighting me. Just think of your father and the rest of your family if you were killed by a rank F like me, wouldn't the other kingdoms look down on Ruttera? Now it's not too late, please just surrender," Hayato persuaded.

"If you surrender, it will show your wisdom in thinking, the other kingdoms will also be reluctant towards you. They will consider you very wise for choosing to surrender in a duel instead of the Ruttera Kingdom having to bear the shame of having its prince killed by an F-rank academy student," Hayato continued.

"Is what he said true? No, I can see my opponent's attack moves for the next nine seconds before he makes an attack. But I haven't seen him attack me yet, or is it that his attacks can't be seen?" thought Gill, abandoning his intention to draw his sword.

"Gotcha," Hayato thought with a grin as he saw the indecision on Gill's face.

"Princess Mia Ruttera Livsirg, please help me convince your brother to surrender. I don't want to stain my hands with the pure blood of the heir to this kingdom. I don't want King Luiz Ruttera Livsirg to be sad. Please persuade your brother," Hayato shouted as he searched the rows of students for Mia's whereabouts.

Mia, who heard this, looked worried and turned her eyes to Gill, who was still silent. But she didn't say a word.

"This has nothing to do with anyone else. These are my decisions, nothing to do with the Ruttera Kingdom or the royal family. I'm here as the Chief White Knight and a student of the Elexia Academy myself," said Gill, who had made up his mind.

"I would rather die than lose a duel without putting up a fight," Gill continued as he drew his sword.

Raff suddenly laughed out loud because he couldn't hold it in anymore, he was very happy because he felt that Hayato's plan would fail. "Hahaha... it looks like Hayato's cosmic level psychology attack will be in vain," he said.

"Tch. This is bad, he's the type of NPC who is stubborn and apparently has high self-esteem," Hayato thought.

"Academy teachers, I hope you'll stop Prince Gill! I don't want him to be killed, he is the best student of the academy. Do you want him to die just like that? Won't you feel guilty? Stop this duel now!" Hayato persuaded while looking at Bara.

"That kid, is he really so sure that he can kill Gill?" muttered Bara indecisively, even turning his gaze to the line of teachers at the edge of the training ground.

"Please, I still can't control my strongest skill, Prince Gill will definitely die in my hands," Hayato persuaded while looking at Bara who looked worried.

"There's nothing to worry about! Prince Gill Ruttera Livsirg has already made his decision," Lilya interrupted loudly. Suddenly everyone's attention was on the elf who was standing in the line of teachers.

"Do you think Prince Gill will be easily fooled? You lowly student," Lilya continued, looking at Hayato from a distance.

"You bastard. This elf will definitely be my slave, just wait until my hidden power is awakened," Hayato grumbled in his heart.

"Look at that. The teachers won't even do anything if I die here, all because of my own choice," Gill said as he released the mana in his body.

Just as the ground shook violently like an earthquake, a gust of wind began to blow from where Gill was standing. The sword in Gill's hand seemed to emit a green gradient of light, and the wind waves seemed to begin to condense around the blade of Gill's sword.

"Hey, isn't this too much?" thought Hayato with a pale face as he felt the powerful force from where Gill was standing.
