Archversal Showdown, #53 - The Reactionary

> The gift, the omen, I rob from the holy pedestal.

----------------------------------------

David kept on to simply observe his opponent, for this was power he recognized, hearing of it prior to and seeing it live during this very event.

《A new development…》

His opponent returned a glare of his own, just itching for the next sequence to commence.

"Never expected you to be linked to such a power…," spoke the prince.

"I'm not. I simply absorbed it from something, or should I say, someone, who possessed it.” Raiven responded with a seriousness in emotion, but a smug and irritable vibe nonetheless.

“I see…” The Ikon of The Flow of Impulse…

One of the quadral “Action Flows”, special techniques usually known to deifics and beings like the Celesti…

And like the rest, it is a “divine flowing of the body”; one that allows each body part to act individually, as if of individual minds, moving greatly beyond natural action, inaction and instinct… His meditative moment was rather lengthy, so even Raiven would wonder what was on his mind.

Lest I waver, I must act sharp!

He dashed at his opponent with little delay, ready to strike with both hands spread outwards and engulfed in different pulses, one with Void energy, and the other with electricity.

And with no lag he indulged in an unrelenting assault, but found little headway. As with each swing and switch, his opponent swiftly and graciously avoided them all, all whilst impacting upon him some strikes of his own.

Then, performing hand signs yet again, David activated his ice technique of the plethora of great mirrors, encompassing Raiven with them.

Then each of these reflections focused themselves onto the man in the midst of them all. Given these mirrors’ multifaceted nature, and the situation at hand…it’s a good thing to have them.

Using each reflection, he launched tiny bolts of Void energy at Raiven, who subsequently sidestepped all.

Tch! Seems I must expand my efforts. David thought, as his true self flew out of one of the mirrors at luminal velocities, aiming for Raiven.

But the latter eluded the attack, and David would simply travel into the mirror across from there.

Raiven then rushed to destroy that mirror, but the real David had already left it moments before.

Close. And if not for the advantage of bending light and thus the perception of my true self with his technique... David began thinking, watching Raiven make haste and shatter more mirrors in an instant.

As well as traversing between each mirror and "becoming one" by merging my body with them, entering the somewhat worlds of phantoms of each...

Then, with exertion of physical force yet again, he flew at his opponent. Reflecting at light speed as I do so!

The latter would dodge, keeping in the manner of this power of his.

David landed yet again in another mirror, preparing for his next move.

He shot his signature ray at Raiven, who found little issue in escaping its path.

But it changed direction rapidly, beginning to home in on a stunned Raiven.

And Raiven had to act as he did before.

The ray redirected itself again, bringing about a long-winded repetition of this sequence.

David glared sternly, in wonder of the likely effectiveness of this method.

"I've had enough,” said Raiven in a rather irritated tone.

He suddenly let out a great burst of aura, one accompanied by immense heat, propagating a shockwave that shattered countless mirrors.

“Grhh!” The real David within one mirror reeled back, recuperating from the unforeseen blast.

But in an instant, Raiven materialized just before the mirror he was in, much to his surprise.

Then he directed a forceful punch into and through the mirror, launching the Nafiman prince from outside of it and onto the ground behind him.

Concocting another plan of attack, David, with the so-called psychic factor possessed by Nafimans enhanced with dynabolic and Void energies alongside his own mental intuitions, located and telekinetically magnetized towards himself metallic material embedded within places of the platform, which spiraled about him for moments.

And in an instant, with those materials he constructed a crude but complex giant robot, with himself in the cerebral dome as its pilot.

The robot fired off a volley of makeshift missiles at Raiven.

But to him in that state this was child’s play, avoiding each and every one of them with extraordinary ease amidst their subsequent detonation.

He teleported to the robot, decimating it instantly with a singular strike, and sending David recoiling back violently onto the ground.

Well, I made it whilst short on time, so… He thought in self-assurance, raising his upper back from the floor and used his forearm to wipe his mouth.

Time…

He then immediately rose to his feet, catching the notice of Raiven.

He swiftly stretched his arms forward, crossing each other with some space within them, and his hands in a loose two-finger point gesture, and made advanced Void energy once again. “~Void Rein.~”

But it was caught on to by Raiven, who rushed in to attack a baffled David with an sternal jab in a play to prevent the attempted halting of time.

The force of the attack pushed him away even farther than before.

Raiven stood up with a proper poise. "You can't beat this skill, you know that.”

He then took a stance, swiftly punching into the air, which in turn would send a barrage of bolts of pressurized air at David.

David subsequently dodged them all.

He made a break for Raiven once again with incredulous haste, but the attempted attack was met with an even quicker reflexive evasion.

He proceeded to strike David in the abdomen with great precision, drawing from the Nafiman a retching of pain.

"Yeah, won't work. Nothing you do will.” Raiven said with a sense of superiority, as David fell to his knees and faced the floor.

But David remained calm, breathing to reaffirm himself.

"Three…two…" He counted down, leaving Raiven only slightly lost.

“One.”

Suddenly, the latter grunted, feeling as though a great force had been weighed upon his body, aching terribly in grave pain.

He fell onto his knees as David rose from his.

"This…is…" He uttered with a dumbfounded wince, as the cold hues that once marked his body began to dissipate, and his veins pulsed with a bluish digital hue.

"Yes. Your version of the Flow is, primarily, at its most basic stage, just an unrefined and incomplete one. One on a timer. And that timer just clocked zero." David said amidst complete recovery from his wounds, his words striking Raiven with pure shock.

"But…I was…" He mouthed barely, for the pain was great enough to leave him struggling to speak or move properly. "Winning? Yes, maybe so.” David interjected.

"Or perhaps…"

Raiven's eyes widened in a shocked realization.

"You played along…" He groaned with an infuriated grin, his brows twitching. “And that time stop stuff?”

"Nothing of fabulous nature. Just–."

But David would not be allowed to speak anymore, as from Raiven came a roar of pure unbridled anger. "AAAARGH!!!"

He swiftly charged up and swallowed a black sphere with little lapse.

From it, he blasted a red concussive beam at David at near point-blank range, but the latter swiftly evaded in a short timeframe.

He attempted to shift and distort the nature of the things around him, but David was unwavering to the effects, as Void Rein and his inner spark acted against such.

And then would Raiven send a wave of converging and attracting blue energy at David, which was escaped rather easily.

He then went on the offensive, projecting powerful bolts of electricity at Raiven, who activated the infinitely-fractioning technique just in the nick of time, preventing the bolts from going any further.

To aid his recovery, he made use of the ki conducting ability to swiftly create a gap between himself and the Nafiman prince.

But David swiftly got out of his pouch and would intake the Dupli Powerup.

And as a result, three clones of himself were formed.

The clones used the conduction via ki as well, transposing right to Raiven and catching him off-guard.

They proceeded to perform a string combination of Ju-jitsu attacks on their target, finishing with a kick that launched him towards their original. He would catch and hang Raiven in his aerial state, leaving him to float for a moment.

And from there fired at him with focused dynabolic blasts which brought about a strong explosive burst.

Raiven propelled himself from its midst, with visible harm though still with a capacity to move about.

Suddenly, David appeared at his overhead, kicking him downwards towards the ground.

The latter violently landed onto the surface, causing even more pulses of force to travel out.

Suddenly, David appeared before Raiven yet again, prepared to continue his onslaught.

He then hit three different stringed combinations, one consisting of striking the pressure points on Raiven's neck, quickly following up with a spring hip throw, and then a spinning back kick as Raiven made it to his feet.

And with a spin, the prince strongly clattered the jaw of the human. The combination was completed with a slight jump upward to deliver a knee strike to the chin of Raiven, causing blood to pour from the latter's mouth.

David commenced his last wave, with a focused front kick-side kick switch attack to the diaphragm. He then caught Raiven's arm and performed a violent hip throw that recoiled him in the air for a moment. And finally, struck with a snap side kickso rapid and so powerful Raiven was sent crashing into the mountains not too far from there.

Raiven quickly recuperated, but David fired cascading rays at once, for which he barely made time to react.

I'm slowly running out of steam, thought Raiven, spitting out blood from his mouth.

Having now gathered the energy of red in a set of his fingertips, David performed a slicing motion with that hand.

Raiven barely escaped, but the attack sliced through the terrain at a great distance, much to his bafflement.

Raiven attacked David again, but the prince was quick to push him and his efforts back with a psychic blast.

David began levitating off the ground, simultaneously charging a gargantuan amount of all his energies.

And eventually, his previously closed eyes would open to reveal a pure white that sparked with electric action.

“RAAH!!!” He cried out with a powerful and explosive omnidirectional pulse of all those energies, added to the physical force from the swinging of his arms, to which Raiven could make little time to react to.

The explosion left the platform to have to shift forms again, and even then it was still greatly wiped away in a doming calamity.

"What vigor…" Purogu said in wary awe, spectating alongside her allies from their seating space.

"That I wouldn't put past him, an interstellar level of power. And with him basically being a living ‘higher-nova’, even rivaling some cosmic phenomena may not be out of question for him." Noot responded, stunning the Shinigami. "Is that so? (Your insight is amazing, as usual.)"

"Mhm. But…it’s somewhat not-so rare also. For a greater percent of our little group could take that on normally, especially the likes of Probacon and Wok. I could with the right tools, same as Fighter and Hether. Heck even you Shinigami could have a swing at it. This, of course, discounts the stronger guys."

She turned to look at the battle as it still ran its course.

David floated down to the platform, now much smaller than before, looking at a Raiven left damaged and unreceptive from the effects of the blast, and now even without a right arm for the time being.

He suddenly snapped out of his dazed state, staring in David's direction in puzzlement as the latter placed his feet onto the ground.

He attempted to feel his arm, but touched nothing, realizing and confirming what had happened.

"You know what this means…?" David inquired simply.

Raiven simply kept whimpering in confusion.

"Salutations for this battle.” David said, showing his respect to his opponent.

He began to withdraw from the battlefield with levitative motion, anticipating a likely concession from Raiven.

But his actions visibly angered Raiven, who began to growl like a mad dog.

"You…can't just…" He began spouting, as the glow of a life essence known to many emanated from his left.

"YOU CAN'T JUST HEAD OUT LIKE IT'S NOTHING!!!" He shouted as well as firing a ferocious ki blast of pure astral power at David.

David turned around to notice it, initially stunned by Raiven's response.

But his expression changed, to a scowl of vehement anger as he gritted his teeth at the moronic choice.

"WHY YOU–!!!" David yelled, retaliating with a hefty fist strike that unleashed a channeled shockwave of pure force and power, which completely swept through Raiven's blast.

Raiven's expression changed to shock, and David's attack slowly neared his end.

And it did reach him. And in doing so it propagated a powerful detonation upon contact with Raiven’s hand, bringing forth a yield of immense destruction.

Everyone looked on.

David simply bowed his head in disenchantment.

And with a ferocious shout, Dgiag announced the winner. "BEINGS OF THE OMNIVERSE! THE WINNER OF THIS BATTLE IS…DAVID UNO!!!"…

《Victor: David Uno.》
