Archversal Showdown, #5 - The Prince And The Turtle

> Two souls, dancing with one another. Turning, swerving, intertwined, they dance to outdo their opposite.

----------------------------------------

With their simultaneous charge in bide, David and Drizzled picked up steam with each pace. The distance between both was somewhat sizeable, making the moments before their inevitable collusion feel like a lifetime.

Finally, they clashed, colliding their forearms into each other heavily and causing a strong gale to form.

They exchanged looks brimming of an intensity, of different expressions, but speaking only of one thing.

The two then pushed each other some distance away, attributed to the recoil from their clash.

And in an instant, they barreled right back at each other again with even greater force, now aiming for more targeted blows.

The first attempt came from David, with a straight jab with his right arm sent to, which Drizzled swiftly dodged and reacted to with a right hook of his own.

David would however, avoid this strike with a stepback, beginning to calculate his next move.

The two would continue their attempts at being the first to get the upper hand via the first hit, throwing consecutive varieties of strikes, and subsequently counteracting on each. A length of time being testament to their combat skill, and their tactical minds, as the pair's tango of combat flowed gracefully.

But neither would falter yet, neither in body or in mind, as they kept battling overmanly through the lengthy landscape within the self-illuminated void, of a surface of various rocks, rock formations, elevations, as well as strange structures and some vitality.

The spectators roared with amazement, expressing the achieved and even supplanted expectations set upon this joust.

And their fellow participants gazed forward in awe of the two's splendid skill.

《An appeasal of the masses. An early sign of greatness.》

"Hmph! That's some radical skill, prince of Primus,” commented Drizzled with a grin.

"However, you ain't anywhere near my level!"

And upon suddenly catching one of David's legs at it was swung towards him, Drizzled threw him a distance away from their previously shared position.

David recuperated instantly, sliding across the ground graciously.

Now noting in his mind that he'd have to do more to defeat this opponent, he tilted his head downwards a little.

"Well, I did not exactly expect novices as opponents here.” He spoke in response. "But know this: to be this overtly overconfident this early aids not your aim."

David lunged at Drizzled, throwing an extremely quick front kick, which the mutate failed to react to in ample time and took to his gut, gagging as a result.

The strike forced the latter to fly away distantly, aligned to the ground in a recline.

The masses' cheers grew even louder, with the notion of the matchup picking pace arousing them. Meaning that now, the arsenals of the contenders would be placed on near-full display.

In the participant seating space, their fellow participants reacted with awe, commenting on the battle with thrill in their voices. "As expected from the renowned Prince of Primus!" "Don't count that Drizzled out just yet, 'cause he definitely still has something under his sleeve!” "What a boisterous future king we got here! Definitely wanna fight him if all goes well.”

Probacon watched on in absolute awe. Wow! Is this what the battles here will be like?

Even then, that can't be all. Not even! But just what else could these two even have in store?!?

Drizzled, who had been reeling from the kick for a while, finally returned to his feet, boldly chuckling. "That was a good one, your Highness! Haven't taken a strike like that in years now."

"...Appreciated. Physicality is one of my more prized talents.” David responded with a flex of his right arm while bringing it close to his chest, in a duality of gratitude and sarcasm.

"But…at the same time…”

“I' ain't also been doing what I'm capable of in a long time!,” proclaimed Drizzled, who with open arms began to cause the rocks around him to levitate from the ground.

He quickly directed them at David, who having already sensed the danger, began to avoid most using his swift speed and agility.

And in response to a certain one he couldn't get around, around his right hand was electric charge in generation.

~VOLTA!!~ David would use that very hand to strike and obliterate the very last rock.

Thus for a brief moment, Drizzled looked at his opponent's action in a confused daze.

If you spot this tale on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

But it went away rather quickly, transforming into an anticipating grin in speculation of the precise kind of battle ahead.

A smile that lasted only briefly, as he had to quickly react to David, who was now headed at him with his hand still coated in electricity.

Whoa! Drizzled exclaimed in his mind, as he managed to avoid said hand to the face by a few seconds.

He followed up by kneeing the Nafiman prince in the gut and pushing him back to his previous position.

His recovery would be as rapid as fore, but this time he had grown wary, and began to enjoy himself.

"Seems I am to greaten my efforts!" He exclaimed, charging at Drizzled once again, but this time, with a small red energy concentration on his unfolded right index finger.

Drizzled recognized what it was in an alarmed pose, preparing to try avoiding it.

But David had planned ahead, and right as Drizzled pushed himself away, David placed his left hand's middle and index fingers’ tips on his temple, instantly tramsitting himself right behind where the mutant now stood.

That's–! Drizzled realized what had just happened, hurrying to turn his head to his rear.

But he was already delayed. And David proceeded to fire from that concentrated energy a thin but precise and powerful beam of ki through Drizzled's lower back and abdomen, barely grazing his digestive organs.

Drizzled coughed up a little ichor, as the laser has instigated some damage, though not in any sense substantial.

With hurry he used the same means to move away from near David, surprising the prince just a little.

"Huff…huff…A Death Ray, huh?” The mutant panted, now bent over with hands on knees and still mid-recovery, as David turned to keep him in view. "All the rave these days, aren't they? Never thought a mighty Nafiman would use it…"

“Drift away from any flattery, Torrerian. My kind are still subject to the rules of the all-reality, and one must make do with what one receives."

"Yeah, well, I'm what they call a ‘freelancer', so I don't care much. And I know the rules well enough, so no need to lecture me.” Drizzled hit back, placing his right hand and the back of his neck, as spots of blood dried beneath a corner of his lips.

"Sorry. You just looked to need it. Or, is my judgment still true?” David replied with a smug smile, raising both eyebrows for added effect.

"Damn shithead!"

"Regardless, this clash is definitely not the one to focus on at the momeng. Agree?"

"Yeah, definitely!!" Drizzled exclaimed with ferocity, as the two barreled at each other yet again.

They began exchanging fueled physical blows, where some landed, and some were evaded or defended.

But the intensity of this exchange was far greater than before, as the sound of flesh striking flesh echoed far more, alongside the continuing filts and slithers making up the exchange. But it seemed only the prince could actually cause real damage to his opponent, whereas Drizzled failed in that aspect, not once breaking the prince's dermal defenses.

Then the brace moved away from each other and turned to run in elliptical paths toward each other at tempos of supersonic thresholds, constantly coming into collision with every motion.

Suddenly, Drizzled jumped back and brought his index and middle fingers to his forehead, gathering energy there with an intense look on his face.

He fired off a thick beam with a helix of energy around it towards David, which the latter managed to avoid due to its relatively slow pace.

Drizzled had gotten the better of him in this one instance, continuing to teleport to and striking him with a strong right to the side. And upon contact, he had activated “claws” beforehand as well, a part of his mutant anatomy that allowed him to make us of edged added bone sheathed in his arms, using them to stab into David as he struck him.

David spluttered out little blood from his mouth as he let off a light groan.

He quickly retaliated, grabbing that same arm firmly with his own forelimbs.

With a sharp corkscrew twist, he repositioned both their poses.

And turned it into a shoulder throw, sending Drizzled violently onto the ground.

Granting him little recuperation, David punched Drizzled in the back with unhindered might as he recoiled upwards from the force of the previous slam, sending him afar.

He would only reach hiatus from crashing into an alpine landmark, which instantly imploded upon the collision. And the raw pnematic pressure from that single attack also wiped away completely or partly other nearby titanic earthen towers in the area.

《The raw strength of the Crown Prince!》

The fragments of the main rock would then be privy to gravitational effects, seemingly falling onto Drizzled, and seemingly bringing the duel to a close.

All waited in silence, wanting to see what had happened to Drizzled, David included.

Moments passed, and the young prince would stop minding that area, turning to walk away.

He then contemplated the situation. He must be out cold. His body's most likely severely injured considering what fell upon him, but he'll live. So–.

But before he could complete his mentation, a revving sound similar to that of a chainsaw echoed from amongst the fallen rocks.

David turned his head towards there, acting with a disbelief unlike any other. What!? Unbelievable!

"Don't dare think this is through! 'Cause I'm FAR FROM DONE!!!,” yelled a voice, which came from that very place.

Before David could fully turn in reaction, a quick flash rushed past him, severing most of his left arm, and scathing his left side, leaving his blood spurting out and he in a state of shock of the unexpected event.

The flash came from a racing figure. One none other than Drizzled, who had teleported and then rushed at David, unveiling the true extent of his mutant trait of "edged bones", seemingly possessing additional parts to his entire musculoskeletal make-up which could protrude and retract added bones as edged weapons of any kind, and in this case, he had chainsaw blades of bone extrude through his arms and on his shoulders. And on top of that, from the appearance of the bones it looked that his entire skeletal structure had been coated with a bizarre metallic alloy, giving all his weapons such metallic sheen.

《With a power unlike any other,…》

"So, stand ready for a rude awakening, o great heir!!!,” roared Drizzled, as he turned towards David for the next phase of battle…

《Now, let combat truly begin…》
