> Shining bright, crashing down.
----------------------------------------
For the umpteenth time the signal of unnecessity would be directed at the overseeing Grandmaster.
But with a simple and endearing nod he would follow through, psychically doing as he had always done, leading the wheels into a new cycle.
They spun for long and fast, raising anxiety across the board, with the questions of who the next were, and which of those would emerge victorious, being played and asked all throughout.
The wheels began to slow, to tarry in their haste.
And would finally halt, transposing two beings into the Field.
"Oh boy…,” said a concerned Wok with his face in hand, peeping through his fingers.
"Beings of the omniverse…,” announced Dgiag. "...THEY HAVE BEEN CHOSEN!!!"
The crowd roared again, high in expectation and with much thirst to be quelled.
Dgiag then reintroduced both contenders. The first was the Criofiend called Bbenson. A short humanoid with grayish skin, a round hairless head and purple patches on his chest, shoulders and knees, two thick purple lines that ran down his face including over his eyelids. irides of a rusty tint, and with only a horned helmet, soot, red and violet in color. His forelimbs boasted four fingers, and his hindlimbs had two toes, as well as simple small holes for auditory organs, a commonality of the species. "Hm-hmmm. So…my draw is a Sarhun.” He laughed in a deep but high voice, in slight amusement, and an unsettling manner.
《Bbenson. Destroyer Criofiend. Age 41.》
And then the second, a female Sarhun, possessing shaggy black hair with bangs, olive-like irides, a round face, pale-skinned, slender and with a tail, whilst wearing normal green, gray and pink female Sarhun battle armor: a lightly padded sleeveless top, a thigh-length hoop and slip shorts, and fiery metal-tipped boots and armbands on each arm. "Bbenson…" She mumbled in a unsettled mild voice, carrying herself warily.
《Lulua Star. Sarhun of Good Heart. Age 17.》
Upon the end of his introduction, Dgiag stepped back, and turned his attention to only Star. "Lulua…show your respects.”
This would draw from her a confused expression, but an inverse smug laughter from the likes of Bbenson.
But in spite of that confusion, Star performed those pleasantries, and was recognized by Dgiag with a nod.
He took himself away as the Sarhun took a battle stance.
"BEGIN!!!" He shouted from the Coliseum.
Star hastily made the first move, quickly striking at an unsuspecting Bbenson with a hook and a grunt.
Bbenson bounced away on the floor a few times, but eventually reached a stop.
But his startlement was great, astonished by the boldness and might of his adversary. "W-what?"
"You're undermining me…”
“Just because you have strength, doesn't mean I don't!" She declared, riling up the crowd.
《A strong-willed Sarhun, and an empath to boot…》
Without hesitation, with an unwavering mindfulness, Star launched herself at Bbenson again.
《Labeled “The Altruistic Sarhun Warrior” by many…》
She would deliver a driven kick with her shin to the latter's midsection, striking into his left side, leaving him with a face contorted in discomfort.
《An upcoming paragon, now intertwined in battle with one of malice to her people…》
The force was great, sending him even further away, for thousands and thousands of an astronomical distance, and crashing into and causing the demolition of a monolithic boulderstone rivaling in its size a supergiant.
The Criofiend was stunned, although not severely harmed, and left in both intrigue and enragement by the Sarhun’s raw strength. This Sarhun tramp! How is she this strong?!
Hmph. Well I shall at least give it its deserved commendation, no matter how futile.
But even so, to challenge me so boldly? Normally, I'd expect a hint of fear, hesitation, and not to mention ill-fated attacks. But…
Oh, I see.
Bbenson had realized something of note, and began to laugh as a result, which slowly but surely turned more maniacal.
Star would be left greatly unsettled by this sudden outburst, keeping watch of him cautiously and from a distance.
"You're new to this, hm?" Bbenson probed. "I…have no idea about what you're asking.” She replied in confusion.
"Don't worry. All will be revealed in due time. If you are alive by then,” concluded Bbenson while posing with a proper standing and placing his two hands before himself in preparatory action.
That's–!, thought Star, taking poise sidewards and with widened arms amidst anticipation for defensive motions,
Bbenson shelled a beam of bright ki surrounded by a helix at his opponent from two fingers.
She would quickly elude it by taking flight, as it drilled through multiple colossal slabs that she had previously stood before.
She returned her feet to the surface, looking back through the dozens of millesimal kilcks the beam had bored its way to.
"That much?" She questioned with a head tilt.
Bbenson howled in response, once again drawing the ire of this bighearted individual. "Considering where we are and what would’ve happened elsewhere, this is no joke.”
"Hm? And what, tell me, would that be?" He asked.
Star sighed, facing away from the Criofiend. "Nope. Forget it. (Likes of you could care less anyway.)"
"Oh, please. Humor an old soldier, will you?"
"...If we fought unbridled, somewhere with other living beings, what would the result be? Harm. Harm that is absolutely unnecessary.”
Her words stunned Bbenson initially, leaving him to stare widely in disbelief, not in the fact that she said them, but rather theintended receiver.
He proceeded to burst into hysterical laughter, only causing Star to commune more aggressively. "It's not funny.”
Bbenson stopped laughing, and posed a question of rhetoric nature. "You think I, a being who relishes in pure destruction and control, cares about such?"
"Probably when you get beat." She answered with a victorious smirk.
Her reply infuriated Bbenson to the highest of degrees, but left the audience very much entertained.
Bbenson calmed himself, proceeding to smile at the Sarhun. "True. But is it wrong for a being to despise such?"
Unauthorized duplication: this narrative has been taken without consent. Report sightings.
"No…" She enounced, contemplating the nature of the response. "But at the same time…"
"’You have no right to do such to others. And to even make the mere claim of survival of the fittest, reeks of hypocrisy’, is that not your next response?’” He interjected hurriedly which caught her off-guard.
"You are correct in all regards, but in the end, I care little for the morality nonsense. (Seems like pointless squabble over nothing…)"
She stared at him from afar, more seriousness in her demeanor than before, changed due to her foe’s general outlook.
"Not to mention, truly it is the victors who determine certain things in existence. I'd rather choose a role as victor over your desire, Sarhun.”
“And to conclude, a rugged animal like you shouldn't attempt nuance." He finished, closing his eyes and folding his arms, and smiling satisfactorily.
"Huh. As they say, you guys are one crappy bunch." She relayed.
His smile would be washed from his face, and now mildly irritated he opened a single eye to look at her.
"Do you have any idea what my desire is? If not, don't invoke it.”
Her final words and attitude left him more pleased, unopposed to the idea that her altruistic self may be discarded in her growing ire.
The duelist suddenly darted at each other again, now about to engage in a contest of hands.
A contest of sweeping volleys, rapid evasions, and dexterous maneuvers. Displaying the Sarhun’s better pace and acuity, and the greater strength of the Criofiend, as the duality caused to themselves degrees of harm and ache, striking at the head, torso and even limbs of themselves, with the sound of flesh on flesh ever echoing.
And in a short burst, a flurry of hand strikes were produced by the Criofiend, looking to overtake and overpower. But his opponent pulled through, playing her momentary strengths to her advantage and evading all of these attacks.
She would punt Bbenson high into the space above their current platform.
And in consecutive performance let off a mighty beam of ki at the airborne Criofiend. But he was quick to requit, and with a beam of his own nonetheless.
The two attacks collided, causing a potent blast which eviscerated a proportionate iota of that structure, which now stretched into an amalgam of multiple planet systems.
And the zone of impact would be left with just a great gaping hole.
But high above it were the two combatants, preoccupied with themselves in a forceful exchange of blows.
Star would send out a powerful sonic scream which stunned and repelled Bbenson.
But it was of little consequence to him, and he simply pushed through it.
He then dashed at and punched Star in the face and down to the surface.
With a joyed sneer, he gazed down from his higher placement at where she had crashed onto.
Then, a vivacious burst of aura and light expelled from there, dispelling the dust through pnematic forces that resulted from such.
Star, now covered in crimson fur on all of her exposed body from her nape down, though her collarbone, fingers and palms were visibly furless, with morphed hair now more voluminous and of a scarlet red tint, with shut eyes, and red arcs underneath them, stood amidst the clearing dust.
Bbenson was left at a loss for words, as his mouth was left open from the pure bamboozlement he had just experienced.
Star opened her eyes, revealing her irides to have become of a gleaming solar amber.
And in an instant, she blitzed the flying Bbenson and hit his jaw emphatically.
Her strike sent him flying towards the ground in a bizarre arc.
From here on Star gained the upper hand, constantly outpacing Bbenson and kickstarting a string of strikes he couldn't counter. From an elbow strike, to a thudding cross to the cheek, and a velocious flurry of side kicks, she was relentless, unwavering, unstoppable.
Bbenson would transform as well, in one similar to his previous but with more musculature, as well as a great spike in energy and subsequent power.
But it acted of no aid, as this magnitudinous form of a Sarhun continued to beat him down, using both personal combat and ki attacks to her advantage.
After a long spell of nothing short of a clobbering, she punched Bbenson even higher than before.
She would consequently leap into the air to push him right back towards the ground.
And his crashing would cause a shockwave that swept through a tenth percentile of the platform.
Bbenson, struggling to recover from the barraging, began to ideate with much heightened frustration. Grh! At this rate-!
And once again he would compose himself.
Now is the time to let loose!
Then, something began happening to him, which Star sharply detected.
What? She flew down at great speeds to observe more.
She sensed the pure surge in power expelling from the Criofiend, and it churned her stomach and raised her anxiousness.
She decided to take no chances, and charged to him positioned to deliver a heel.
But Bbenson simply dodged, and as a result she simply struck with force the floor beneath them, much to her astonishment.
She would continuously aim to land hits but fail due to his swift sidesteps and maneuvers.
And looking to turn the tide, the Criofiend would swiftly kick her away, although she managed to litigate it by crossing her arms to act a shield for her.
"What…is that power?" She asked.
“I need not explain it!" He shouted in glee upon blitzing a stunned Star.
He would land more hits on her, as she was just barely managing to keep pace even if just a morsel.
But then, Star herself smirked confidently. "Instinctive reflex…”
“Won't do much to hinder me!" She blitzed Bbenson yet again with a follow-through roundhouse kick to the side of his face, bewildering him completely.
And then another barrage of strikes came forth upon a perplexed Bbenson, who could use only his mind to grasp the unpredicted shift.
Oh…I see…she must be able to traverse at that level….
Well then, the quicker this ends, the better for us all.
He’d procure a large burst of explosive aura, derailing Star and her intentions.
He then rushed off into the sky.
"That won't work!,” shouted Star, who was just about to take chase.
But she was suddenly left frozen in place by what she saw next.
Bbenson formed above himself a celestially-sized orb of ki, and with his common subtle smugness he smiled.
He would throw it upon the surface, and take out Star with it. And its vigor could be felt across the manifoldly extents of the void.
All watched on in silent anticipation.
The Field returned to its standard, with Star resting upon a rock, knocked out and with her wounds but with the breath of life still vibrant in herself, and Bbenson slowly floating back to the ground.
"Dgiag, make haste with thine word,” uttered Tōmii of a grimacing exterior, surprising and concerning Dgiag.
Nevertheless, he followed what he had been asked of, bringing forth a great deal of cheers, jeers and boos from the audience.
All of which Bbenson ignored, focusing his attention to her, and preparing a final killing blow specially for her, much to the dismay of the watchers.
"No more,” said a voice, catching Bbenson by surprise.
He turned in its source direction, catching sight of Tōmii. "You…" "The battle doth end, Bbenson. Make no folly action ayond it.”
"Or what, oh great dog of the G.o.D.?" He retorted with dissent and contemptuous precedent.
In an incomprehensible instant, Tōmii quickly appeared before him, glaring with intense indignation and jolting the Criofiend.
"Then, it shall be so that thy censure herein this place and the afterworlds are greater than told." Tōmii declared with a divine ferocity.
Bbenson would shudder, and for good reason. He had now been forewarned by a being of exponentially greater existence and role to him, and any act at all could prove costly.
He would eventually regain his cool nonetheless, simply smiling at that very being.
Then, Jmlehvu would arrive to treat him and Star.
Lulua Star…a humane gift to all her world, thought Tōmii as he looked at Star.
Let it be so; a loss o’ a simple stumble. For thy pureness surely…shall prevail in the end.
Both combatants were teleported from the Field, as Tōmii also left.
And once again, the wheels were placed in a momentary cycle.
They finished spinning earlier than usual, giving notice of the next two chosen contenders.
"ME!?,” exclaimed Wok with a point to himself.
He and one other would be promptly transposed to the platform of the Field.
"BEINGS OF THE OMNIVERSE…WE HAVE OUR CHOSEN!!!,” announced Dgiag, as the masses clamored in unkempt excitement.
"Yeah! It's Wok again!,” stated Probacon with a joyful gleam, but those who neared him simply kept their eyes upon the transmitive projection.
Wok, now dressed in a shirt version of his robe along with a fitted blue jacket, looked to his opponent from where he stood, pondering upon the procession of this new battle…
