CHAPTER 5 – THE SECRET OF RABBITS
----------------------------------------

*Rumble
That wasn't the sound of thunder. It came from Bunny's tummy. Munchies time!
It has been 7 hours since Bunny had entered RR. The stomach never lies.
While fleeing from the Intelligence Guild, Bunny felt the familiar sensation of hunger and thirst. Usually, one had to eat every 5 hours, since Bunny started with full satiety, she only felt hungry after 7 hours. Sadly, there wasn't any cookies, only stale bread and tepid water from the canteen. Since she couldn't do anything about the food, she at least wanted cool clean water from the fountain.
Reaching the fountain, Bunny emptied and refilled her canteen, while taking out rye bread to eat. Looking at the sky while munching on a piece of stale bread, Bunny estimated there to be 3 more hours before sunset or dinner time. Dinner time, to Bunny, was an important time of the day.
Slowly chewing her bread, Bunny was deciding what to do. She needed to meet the NPC Emma an hour before dinner, which gave her about 2 hours to waste. Looking around the plaza, it wasn't difficult to differentiate most players from the NPCs.
The players are usually dressed in leathers or plates befitting their class, while NPCs don either linen or their work clothes. There was also the all-too-obvious newbie outfits. What Bunny saw was a lack of fashion; No one dressed for appearances; Everyone seemed to values utility over style.

Bunny's next destination is the Tailor guild, just like what her name implies, she decided to get a bunny girl costume; It would be good to be different. Although she had no money at the moment, she would be receiving more then 2000 gold soon. Making good use of her spare time, she decided to ask for prices first.
The clerk working at the guild was a shy girl named Betty, who seemed to have lots of respect for Lance. It didn't take long for Bunny to get acquainted and made friends.
“Can you make a bunny girl suit?” Bunny asked [th_117_.gif]
“Do you mean rabbit fur clothes? We can do that.”
“No, no, I meant those clothes that cover the front up till here, a V-shape cut here, then fishnet stockings extending from here to here, added a small fluffy tail here” Bunny replied pointing at the respective parts of her body while describing what she wanted
The clerk blushed just thinking of how provocative an outfit would be, if it followed Bunny's description. However, she decided that she had just misunderstood Bunny due to how upright the brother was.
“I don't think we had such designs before” she stammered
“Hmm... can you custom-make one?” Bunny asked, with her familiarity, she didn't expect rejection.
“Ummm... How about I teach you tailoring so you could make one yourself?”
The clerk was hard-pressed, she didn't want to disappoint Bunny, but more then that, she didn't want to upset Lance by giving 'his sister' something scandalous just because she misunderstood her request. The clerk took the only escape path, by teaching Bunny tailoring and letting her outfit herself.
“Do you want to learn Tailoring?”
“I guess it can't be helped, I am not good at explaining” Oblivious to the clerk's inner struggle
*Ding
You have learned Tailoring
“After I make a prototype, can you can reproduce it at higher quality?” Bunny asked
“Sure.” The clerk replied with relieve, pleased that she escaped a difficult situation.
After making small talks, Bunny received a needle and some threads before waving goodbye and continued her way, walking towards the armorer's shop. She now had a way to get her outfit, whats left was the headband. Any girl would know to visit an accessories shop to buy a headband, sadly, Bunny wasn't just 'any girl'. Her understanding of head wear somewhat equates a helmet used by warriors or knights.
Entering the shop, she greeted the owner, a dwarf named 'Deft Hand'
“Hello Mr Deft Hand”
“You are?”
“I am the sister of Lance, he told me that if I needed anything, this is the best shop to visit”
“Your brother sure knows his stuffs, what are you here for?”
“I am looking for a Bunny girl head-wear, those with ears pointing out” Bunny requested
“The rabbits here don't have skulls big enough for helmets, you gonna grow one?”
“You misunderstood, I meant I just want a head-wear with rabbit ears”
“No misunderstanding missy, you want a head-wear right?” Deft Hand asked
“Uh-huh” Bunny nodded
“You want it to have rabbit ears, right?” Deft Hand asked again
“Yeah.” Bunny agreed again

“Then you have to grow a rabbit to the size you want” Deft Hand concluded.
Bunny didn't bother to clear the misunderstanding, as she became curious about what Deft Hand was saying. What did he meant by growing a rabbit? It felt very interesting.
Since there were other customers in the armory, she used them to excuse herself and pretended to browse the merchandise. Glancing at the shoppers, she concluded that they didn't notice what she had. Feeling safe, while waiting for others to leave, she started counting out how much Lance gear was worth.
Average price for gears for lv100 is around 200-300g for the body, 50-75g for others like helmets, greaves and gauntlets. Lance wore 3 different types of body armor, which made the cost go higher. Weapons are calculated differently due to specs and stats. Overall, Lance's weapon and gear total to over 1300 gold, even with a discounted selling price, it implied the avatar is worth less then 1000 gold. What a shocking discovery.
:noei:
While mopping over how something she had worked for over a month end up being so cheaply sold, Bunny noticed that she was the only customer left in the armorer's shop.
“How do I grow a rabbit” Bunny asked, after picking herself up.
“You don't know? Just grab a baby from the fields, let it gain experience and it will grow.”
Seeing Bunny listening attentively, Deft Hand continued
“When a rabbit gain enough experience, it will evolve into a horn rabbit.”
“With even more experience, it will grow in size, they can grow really big”
“You will need a horn rabbit about a meter tall to yield a skull big enough for a helmet.”
Bunny was shocked, one of the weakest creature, massively killed by beginners had a secret behind them; They can evolve if fed experience in addition to food, this was like the greatest finding since the start of RR.
“Do horn rabbits evolve further” Bunny muttered, barely suppressing her emotions.
“Nobody knows”, Deft Hand answered nonchalantly, “Horn rabbit helmets can easily sell for over 1000 gold, so those rabbits never grow further from there”
Just one rabbit, worth much more then Lance...
Bunny is currently suffering from Shock + double Shock. :nopnop:
It took some time for Bunny to regain her composure.
*****
Emma, wasn't a chef in some prestige restaurant or tavern, neither was she a good cook. Emma was just a simple chef of an orphanage ran by the Church of Freya. Bunny was set to learn cooking from her for various reason, Emma not rejecting anyone being one of them.
To learn cooking, a newbie, would need to need to work or apprenticed at a Tavern or Restaurant. After a week of running errands, they would take a quest to cook up an acceptable meal, with the reward being the skill. It was a tedious process which not many would appreciate, but the monetary gains from errand quest are good.
Chef Emma did things differently, she gave a quest first, then let successful candidates who gain the cooking skills, work their quota after. She mostly would exhibit her laziness by passing all the cooking work over. Some would be tempted to just ditch the hard work, but not many actually dared to provoke the power behind: Goddess Freya. There were many cases of Freya Priests with over 99% casting rate failed at healing or blessing such people.
“Emma! Are you cooking dinner yet?” Bunny almost shouted while running into the kitchen. She had spent too much time in shock, so she didn't know if she was late.
“Oh my, Oh my, I am about to start preparing, do you want to help?” Emma replied cheerfully
“Yeah... I would... love too... but... no skill.” Bunny said while panting like a dog.
“Oh my, what an energetic girl we have here, would you like to learn cooking?”
“Yeah... please...”
“Then, why don't you show me what you can do with those turnips and carrots”
