Ship Designation: Sirius-class
Ship Class: Corvette
Model Number: Mark 7
Full Designation: Sirius 7-class Corvette
Armament: One 135mm Autocannon Turret, One Beam Machine Gun (mounted in hull), One 12 Tube Wire-Guided Missile Pod Turret.
Description: The Sirius 7 is the improvement on the Sirius 6. While the previous iteration was only equipped with a rapid-fire 135mm Autocannon turret and a single torpedo tube, the Sirius 7 does away with the torpedoes and replaces the torpedo launcher with a spinal mounted Beam Machine Gun. To replace the explosive ‘oomf’ that the ship lost, an area in the aft of the ship was made available for a 12 Tube Wire-Guided Missile turret to be added.
Said 12 Tube missile launcher is actually six 2 tube missile packs that have been fused together, making them capable of being restocked on the go thanks to Lord Arkhan’s ‘cheats’. Due to Minovsky Particles rendering most laser and radar guided munitions near worthless, the Wire-Guided Missiles, while not having the range of a torpedo or normal Dumb-Fire due to the limitations of the wire’s length, are the best bet for use against ships bigger than itself.
The 135mm Autocannon is a heavily modified version of the 135mm Anti-Ship Rifle that has been turned into a turret, had its fire rate drastically increased, almost totally reengineered and given a different type of ammo. The turret can barely turn more than 45 degrees to either side, making it useless in a broadside and therefore making it more useful as a flanking attack. Ideally, this weapon is fired while rushing headlong towards a target in order to help deal with the absurd recoil and poor turret turning radius from turning a massive anti-material sniper rifle into a fast-firing autocannon.

Doing away with the normal solid slug, the Sirius 7 instead uses the more modern 135mm variant of the standard DEAP round used by most kinetic weapons. For those not ‘in-the-know’, DEAP stands for Delayed Explosive, Armor Penetrating. This means it is designed to penetrate armor (duh) and explode within the target itself like bomb. Add in the fact that each round fired from the main gun is coated in ‘Shieldbreaker Blue’, that gunk that makes any and all shielding systems worthless wastes of space, and you have a nasty surprise for any pirate captain who thinks that this tiny guy can’t hit like a mother-fucker.
The propulsion system for this baby is nothing to scoff at, either. Lacking much in the way of armor or shields, the Sirius series of corvettes rely on not getting hit to keep them alive. The thrusters on this machine can and will output an absurd amount of thrust at any moment. This ship series has been known to dodge incoming fire by almost a hair while still peppering their opponent. These ships play a dangerous game, attacking at knife-fighting distance with a few quick pot-shots before speeding off before they can be hit. Some people have said that the way they fight is almost a space-based version of a standard guerrilla warfare tactic, and they are right.
Long and short of it is that this machine is very, very fragile, but an enemy can only capitalize on that if they actually hit it. Any captain of this ship should know to treat this baby like a really big fighter-bomber. Just take it in as fast as possible with as unpredictable a movement pattern as possible, let the enemy feel the sting and then get the heck out of dodge. Just know that if you get hit then that’s it, you’ll have to be found amongst the space debris.
No wonder then that the majority of captains and crews for this ship class are MSGs. No need to worry about being spaced when you don’t breathe, right?
