Episode 25: War on the Horizon (Part 1)

Surprisingly, the dignitaries weren’t put off by Norris Packard’s display, apparently the fights in the Beastman Lands were just as fierce, if not more. This was, however, the first time a member of Beastman Royalty was so easily bested by a non-Beastman. They seemed to have fully expected that Leona would be moving too fast and hit too hard, resulting in Norris’ immediate destruction. It took a bit of convincing on Arkhan’s part for them to realize that the MSGs with names had distinct personalities and were therefore as unique as named Monsters or normal sapient beings. While the mass amounts of unnamed MSGs were basically carbon copies of each other, complete with the same personality, the MSGs with names had the personality and voice of whoever they had the name of. Also, like named monsters, they had boosted specs compared to an unnamed MSG. Truly Arkhan’s MSGs had the best of both worlds; they were intelligent beings capable of learning new skills, fighting styles and tactics like Humans and Non-Humans and yet had the rank-up capabilities, numbers, uniformity and naming boosts associated with monsters.

They were, at least in the eyes of the Dwarven diplomats, the ultimate and perfect golems. In the eyes of the Elves, they were an example of an unknown and undocumented magical spell that should be studied. To the Beastmen, they were an asset to help boost their capabilities through sparring and the fact that they could lose most of their body and still get better made them even more invaluable for said sparring. To Arkhan, however, they were his friends and family, albeit a very large, fanatically devoted and overly loyal group of friends and family.

After a few more Beastmen challenged and were clobbered by Arkhan’s MSGs, the fuss about their potential in combat died down. What really helped them be viewed as strong was when Arkhan pitted a K-Ball against an overly confident Bear Beastman. He had been going on about how ‘the weakest people were always the ones chaining everyone down’, so Arkhan had the K-Ball dodge every physical attack and hunk of stone thrown by the Bear Beastman while peppering him with a continuous fire of rubber bullets. Eventually, the pain of being shot with thousands of rubber bullets and the humiliation of being unable to hit the K-Ball for over 3 hours as it flew just out of reach ultimately broke the beastman and he gave in. The real nail in the coffin for the bear’s argument was that the K-Ball in question wasn’t even named and was still level 1, with no experience points gained from combat. While several beastmen voiced their displeasure at fighting from a distance, Arkhan made the argument that only using melee was a good way to get yourself killed in a full war, especially when your opponent uses magic and ranged weapons.

Meanwhile, the scouts from the Human Lands were making their way back to their respective domains. They lacked both the authority and training to commence diplomatic relations with a foreign power, especially one so heavily entrenched. The fastest of them were sent back while some stayed behind to observe the massive wall and look for weak spots to exploit in the event of diplomatic relations souring. It took much less time than was expected for the runners to reach the Kingdom of Grellek, but unfortunately for most of them they were apprehended by the border guard who were now fully aware that there had been breaches in the border by other Human Nations. While roughly 96% of the scouts from other lands had been captured, the ones specifically allowed to go without being apprehended were the ones from the Theocracy and its puppet nation, the Holy Crux Empire of course, due to the church's influence over the whole of the Human Lands. However, by the time the Theocracy had gotten the messages of its scouts and decided upon a course of action, the Kingdom of Grellek had already made the first move.

A grand caravan containing Grellek’s least beloved Duke, Duke Richard Grande Headington and a copious amount of various types of ‘goods’ was making its way across the now chartable Uncharted Lands. The heavily overweight Duke looked like a ball of every terrible stereotype of Nobles, Obese People, Perverts, Slobs and Gluttons all combined into a single person. His powered wig was constantly being removed and re-powdered as necessary due to his constant sweating and the servants around him (all women) were constantly suppressing their gag reflex due to his horrible mixture of body odor and other bodily vapors emanating from his mouth, armpits and rear from time to time. It was almost like the Grellekian Kingdom had sent him to die, as he knew nothing of etiquette and was more than likely than not to cause a gaff by attempting to assault a married woman or other female. Although, it was very likely that this might very well have been the case. By eliminating a much-hated individual who just so happened to be a Duke, they could eliminate a major irritant and gain just cause to attack the new nation at the same time. Two birds, one stone.

The piggy duke sat in his carriage, one large, meaty hand stuffing a disgusting looking mix of various meats, vegetables, dried fruits, pasta and sauce into his mouth, the other one pulling a voluptuous elf woman close against his body. The poor woman had a forced smile upon her face and despair in her eyes. She had heard from the other ‘goods’ being taken on this trip that she could not expect any kind of mercy from this Orc. He loved being on top, and his over 500-pound body had broken the bones of more than a handful of his ‘pretties’, who he had then discarded. She knew her fate was likely to be the same but had a vain hope that somehow the Mother Goddess would deliver her from this hell. All of the Non-Human ‘pretties’, both men and women, yearned for a quick and painless end to the utter agony of serving this fat fuck. The only solace they had was that this fat bastard would more than likely screw up the first encounter, getting himself killed in the process…

Hopefully, the nation they were going to would put him out of their misery and allow them to live in a safe, unoppressive or at least non-hostile environment.
