Now, they had all finished their cultivation enlightenment, but didn’t move too much. They only shortly opened their eyes and looked to the side and then at each bother, before all three closed their eyes again. They needed to consolidate their cultivation.
...
Half an hour later, jade, monkey and stone left the Training Hall and went out to the outer yard. They felt the presence of other cultivators there. After there were many formations all around the Yard, including the outer yard, and they had some guesses.
Once outside, they saw several elderly men waiting outside. Ji Li went in front and bowed to them. Looking at their attire, he addressed them “Junior Eunuch Li greets the Senior Eunuchs. I apologize for the disturbance! “
Shixuan and Qianyu follows with the greetings and ended “We apologize for the disturbance!”
The elderly men didn’t say anything till the end of the greeting. Then, they waved their hand and nonchalantly said, “What disturbance? We old men were only sitting in our gardens and we’re drinking some tea, how could we disturb by the little sound you younglings did?”
Another man continued “We only came to congratulate the younger brothers. We hope that you advance quickly in ranks!”
The men then went out, but a last one turned and said “Don’t forget to invite us when you finished rebuilding. We have not visited the Yard in some time and would like to see it.”
Ji Li was the one to answer, “We will be inviting all the seniors to a heartfelt meal when we finished everything!” the way Ji Li said it was a bit weird and more like a modern way to invite guests, but none complained and just assumed that the young man was very welcoming of guests.
After the Senior Eunuchs left, Ji Li finally looked properly at Shixuan and Qianyu as he said “Look at you guys, dua Awakening! That’s something very rare, don’t tell me you fell in love behind my back? It’s okay, I won’t tell anyone.”
Shixuan refuted fast “No no, big bro! I would never!”
Qianyu on the other side jumper on, so he also teased Shixuan “What do you mean ‘I would never’? Am I not good enough for you?”
Shixuan became flustered and stuttered “N-No! It’s not like t-that!”
Ji Li and Qianyu looked at each other and laughed aloud, which made Shixuan understand, so he looked slightly upset before he also laughed while saying “You guys are too mean! Just because I’m not so good with words, doesn’t mean you can bully me!”
The scene repeated as they slowly went into the front yard. That’s when Ji Li became serious and looked at Shixuan as he said, “Okay, enough with the jokes. Shixuan, go and check out all formations. Qianyu, you go and prepare our baths. You guys were sweating too much before.”
For outsiders to notice the essence vortex, which meant that the formations broke, and they might very well be spied upon. Although no one would do so, that didn’t mean there was no chance for someone to accidentally listen to their talk inside.
Additionally, to that, Ji Li didn’t like the smell of sweat. Sure, it was fine if he or others were training, but for them to smell in public... he really hoped that those people would use a deodorant. Although there were similar things, and the Eunuch robe was passively cleaning all the time...
It wouldn’t hurt to use some oil perfume and wash when you just came out of training. No need to make others suffer till the robe fully cleanser you. And even then, you would just smell like nothing, but perfumes would give you a good smell. Wasn’t that good for everyone?
It seems that although everyone had good manners, cultivators just cared less about such things.

…
Soon, it was dinner time. Luckily, everyone finished the task they were given… well, Ji Li didn’t do much, but he did think of where they would be eating. Finally, he decided not to eat restaurant food at home! No, he would be eating them directly at the restaurant… which wouldn’t really change anything about the food, at least the vibe would be nice at a restaurant…
So, Ji Li gathered all together and told them “Today, we will be eating in one of the costly restaurants of the Trade Pavilion! Not just one of the restaurants around, but we will actually go in and eat luxuriously. We should’ve done that long ago, but we were too busy till now.”
They went out and took a carriage to the Trade pavilion, too lazy to even walk there, as they planned for the rest of the day to be full of relaxation and luxury. They had just advanced ad needed to celebrate. Of course, they wouldn’t over do, as they had just stabilized their cultivation, and not actually made any real measurements that would enable them to go all out with their strength.
The trio soon arrived in front of the Trade pavilion and carefully looked upon it. The previous times they were around the pavilion, they could only peek at it shortly before leaving the region, because they always had some tasks to do.
This was the first time they really looked at it, and it was just too tall! They couldn’t even make out all the floors and could barely guess that there were a lot of them. Ji Li stepped forward as the leader of their small group and went in.
The entrance itself was a large arch gate, which was beautifully done. Past the entrance, Ji Li finally saw the inside area that was different from the typical reception of a building inside the Eunuch Palace Complex. He also saw a reception to the right, but to the left, there was an exchange centre, where some small shops had opened and sold unique items of all around the empire.
Ji Li guessed that this area was meant to entertain the small buyers, so they wouldn’t disturb the customers further up. The way further up was simply in the form of a staircase, which was pompously in the middle of the whole entrance hall.
To not lose himself in all the shops, Ji Li decided to directly go to the reception, although he didn’t really feel like it. He went to one of the receptionists and asked directly “Where is the eating area?”
The receptionist took out a small scroll and handed it to Ji Li as he opened it “Here is a map of the Pavilion until the 5. Floor. The first, which we are on, is a reception and has a few shops. The second to the fourth are areas with similar shops, they vary in quality and quantity.
Lastly, on the fifth floor, there is an enjoyment area, where there are restaurants, beverages of all kinds, and some activities, such as a mini theatre and some musicians.”
Ji Li took the scroll and looked at the minor details. He wanted to ask about the higher floors, but since he was not told, he guessed that there were some requirements he didn’t fulfil. Still, it made him curious as to what would be restricted for an Intermediate Eunuch… then Ji Li remembered, officially, he was still a Junior Eunuch.
That made much more sense, as there was no way a Junior Eunuch needed anything outside of the five floors anyways. Ji li was sure that if he wasn’t even a Junior Eunuch, access to the floors above the first would’ve probably been closed off.
Not wishing to annoy a worker about something he would get to know soon anyways, he just left the reception and went up. From the scroll, he knew that there was nothing of interest in the first four floors, and only the fifth had a few things that would make him visit.
The trio went through the floors as they looked left and right to make sure there really wasn’t anything that could interest them – and they came to know that the things that were sold on the fourth floor could help someone at the Essence Awakening Stage.
But all the things there, such as cultivation resources and even some low awakening methods, weren’t anything that Ji Li and co. couldn’t get from the Trade Pavilion for free. The Eunuch Palace truly cared for their eunuchs and gave them only the best.
Soon, they arrived at the fifth floor and saw why it was the enjoyment area. There were large windows all around the place, making it very bright. People could eat and drink while enjoying the environment of the Eunuch Palace.
The seatings were positioned so that one could even look at the Main Palace’s Garden from this distance, but all housing areas were like clouds that one couldn’t see through. That was the combination of the private formations of the Yards and the formation of the windows.
To Ji Li it meant one thing: The Eunuch Palace honoured privacy very much, unlike a lot of corporations he had seen in the past, this place seemed much more modern and private in a sense. Although high ranked could still see your place, most of them didn’t dare to look.
After all, if there were outsiders looking at one’s own home, who would dare keep anything private inside of the Eunuch Palace? So, whenever someone, especially people not from the Eunuch Palace, were seen to be spying into the privacy of the Eunuch Palace’s eunuchs, they would get punished very severely, sometimes even with death, if it was someone very daring.
