Dungeon #1: Day 1, First Part

The days of training are over, and overall while our strength hasn’t increased by that much, our movement has become more flexible and we don’t stumble over each other’s toes while maneuvering anymore.

Hey have you ever tried running with a group of people, everyone has different speeds and sometimes you bump into someone’s ass, or someone bumps into your ass, then the turtle will nuke you both while you’re down.

Anyway we haven’t really perfected it, but we’re at least we are at the where we won’t fuck each other up when it matters.

The Trio is acting as the pack mules since they are idle while we make our way through the dungeon.

And in pack mule like fashion the three of them are roped to a sled, the sled holds the culmination of all our insanity, yes 6 days’ worth food!

It’s probably going to taste like shit, but it’ll get though the dungeon.

Now set off for adventure!!!!!

That was quick, not even half a day after we left the city we arrived at the entrance to the Luke Warm Dungeon.

…Some one’s trolling me, right now.

The dungeon is an open air path with big thickets of forest to either sides of the path.

The path itself is pretty wide, the six of us could be standing side by side to one another and there would still be some space left over.

The path itself is some nice and trim with mini-golf grass, occasionally monster comes out of the thicket to graze in the grass.

Oh wait there are freaking pockets of monster lairs connected to the main path, like if someone had a Popsicle stick and added little hole puncher droppings to its sides.

Well I guess we aren’t going to get flaked or anything as long as we don’t try and speed run this.

You know, when you think dungeon you think of something like underground lair, with lots of twists and turns that you need a map to traverse that sort of thing.

Whatever, at least we can make a campfire without having to worry about carbon monoxide poisoning.

Welp, here goes nothing, the first project in my new life, dungeon capturing, let’s do this shit.

We entered the dungeon.

In the rear was the trio dragging our throne with some miscellaneous cooking utensils, bowls and a few sleeping bags.

On the vanguard a shit brown mantle to cover our sleeveless upper body wearing with a thin shirt, you know since swordsmen need all the arm movement they can get, so it’s pretty cold, besides that, the three of us also wore long pants and thick boots.

The mages got it a bit better they could wear thick long sleeves under their mantle so they weren’t as cold us, same pants and boots though.

Oh well at least we don’t have to have to drag that giant block of stew behind us.

This is actually pretty fun, like a camping trip or something.

Huh doing things as a group does that mean I part of a whole now, wow I feel in the loop or something like that, hehe.

20 minutes into the path we hit the first pocket of monsters.

A group of, Kobold 2 big ones in front and 3 small one in the back, they were startled at our appearance, but and begin to block our path so that we couldn’t get past it and into its pocket or something.

Leo started an elementary incantation the moment he saw the kobolds and finished it before they had a chance to decide how they were going to confront us.

He rushed in with his sword lowered and splattered the left kobold infront with an uppercut, It didn’t even have a chance to position itself to block

After the first strike Leo carried the momentum of his uppercut for a few steps and repositioned himself in front of the smaller kobold in the middle backline, realigning his posture and hands for his next attack he brought his sword down with a smash into the smaller kobold.

Two were dead.

He went forward and using an efficient amount of mana, killed two kobolds and got himself behind the remaining three.

If the original position of the kobolds was a trapezoid with the two big kobolds in front and the three smaller ones in back, then their current shape would be a right angle triangle with its tip on the left side, since Leo had taken out the left front and the middle back points.

His incantation of the dying dude was over, he had used two strikes and it would take him a moment to regain his firepower.

It was our turn, we were the second wave, rushing in right after Leo had went through, I took the left with one small kobold and Nona took the right side.

I followed the golden beats of my rhythm game.

Even without the overwhelming power that the impact style provides, the meticulous control of the suppression style, or the practicality of the revolution style, just hitting a vital and not getting hit is enough to for the mobs; that’s right, I’m a cost efficient killing machine, wait that’s not a good thing.

The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

Huh, normally there would be a line going into a beat for most of the patterns, but for this small kobold it’s just a single beat to the heart, I stabbed towards the point.

Rip

I feel my dagger go through the smaller kobold, a dagger going into flesh is a disgusting feeling, it isn’t in any way similar to using a knife to cut through a piece of though steak or pork, the flow of the blood escaping through the wound touches the blade, the still-beating heart and throbbing of the organs transmit the feeling of life through the blade.

And slowly the blood pours out, the heart still beats, and beats, and beats, the organs throb, and throb, and throb as if trying its hardest to keep going.

Everything is felt through the hilt of the dagger it goes though the nerves of my hand up my arm traveling through the spine into my brain, and the brain defuses the feeling throughout my entire body.

This feeling, this feeling, yes this feeling is the feeling of killing another.

It’s disgusting.

I can feel the bile rise in my stomach.

I’m starting to regret not using the impact incantation, that’s right this isn’t the first time I’ve killed, the first time was the Kobold leader.

But during that time I was under a fight or flight condition, my adrenaline was running, but most importantly my blade was covered in mana.

There was no feeling of cutting or stabbing, only destruction; when I slashed at the Kobold Leader’s back there was only a dull feeling of impact followed by strong recoil, and when I had decapitated it there was no feeling at all only a vague sense that something had went through.

Right there was no feeling, therefore it had never registered, but now not only have I killed without the chemicals dulling my senses, I felt the act as well; I killed a living thing that I wouldn’t have met if I never entered its territory.

I can’t even say I killed in self-defense, I came into its neighborhood, came up to it while it was having a family picnic or some shit, they stood up to protect its children we killed them before they even had a chance to realize what was going on, and now we are going to ransack their house, taking any good we can find.

I let go of my dagger covered in blood, the hand that held the dagger is covered in blood too, and I feel backwards on my ass.

I looked over to my right and Nona had finished her job some time ago, and Yegor was looting the pocket space that the kobolds were living in just a few moments ago, we found some shiny shit; I don’t really care right now.

What fuck how long was it since I killed this thing, a few minute I guess, it only felt like a few seconds since I stabbed it.

Am I seriously getting this riled up over something like a monster?

No that’s not right, I’ve never heard anyone call them monsters, or mobs, these things are kobolds and I just killed one.

Huh what a hollow felling.

I guess if keep doing this enough times I’ll get used to this, maybe I should just keep on using the impact style so I don’t have to feel their insides after stabbing them.

No, I shouldn’t cheapen their deaths, as the killer I have to take responsibility for the choice I took: killing them for my own benefit.

I have to feel the weight of their deaths it’s my responsibility as the killer.

Hey aren’t I just trying to act cool or some shit?

Maybe, but I think that if I want to kill another, that I should be prepared to be killed myself.

It might not be comparable, but I lied about a lot of things in my last life, so I decided that I could never condemn another person who had lied, it would be hypocritical.

Since I lied to others, I couldn’t complain or reprimand others for lying to me.

Yeah, so if I kill I won’t… can’t complain about others wanting to kill me, it’ll make this whole situation more tolerable, I guess.

Nona comes over and offers me a hand up, I take it and stand for a second, but I fall to my knees right away, this time I feel it in my throat and I vomited.

Nona patted my back, and went to retrieve my dagger out from within the kobold; she left it a bit in front of me outside of my shit.

The rest of the party gathered a bit ahead, around the pocket, and talked about something I couldn’t hear them over the throbbing in my head.

After a few minutes I got my shit together and the rest of the party was still waiting for me.

“Thanks guys, sorry about that.”

Kurara looked like she was about to say something, but Nona cut her off and told me.

“It’s ok, don’t worry.”

Nona is pretty nice huh, I still don’t know what she’s like, I’ve never really talked to her, maybe after this I should spend more time getting to know everyone.

We continued in silence after that.
