[Day 16: You wake up with your body slightly aching…
You cultivate the [Mountain Sitting Technique]...
You do not make much progress…
You take the spiritual lily with you and walk around the perimeter of the spiritual territory…
You do not see any beasts…
You return to your campsite and you practice the [Spirit Hand Talisman Method]...
After a fruitless session, you decide to practice the [Nine Bull Fist]. It has been almost ten days since you last practiced it, and you do not want to fall out of the habit of honing your only combat skill…]
Lem was excited to see that his simulated self was practicing martial arts again.
It felt like so much had occurred within the past few days. Most importantly, his simulated self had begun to cultivate. Even if he had yet to achieve small success of the First Stage, he was still far more attuned to spirituality than ever before.
Lem wondered whether he would be able to make any breakthroughs using his new sensitivity.
Punch! Punch! Punch!
Lem was focused on the sensations coming from his body.
His simulated self had not practiced recently, but the [Nine Bull Fist] seemed fluid as ever. The vibration force sprung forth from the end of his fists reliably.
Punch! Punch! Punch!
[As you punch out, you begin to remember the feeling of stirring the spiritual energy within your body…]

Punch! Punch! Punch!
The movements suddenly began smoother, like his fists were gliding through the air. The vibration force was not any larger, but he felt more in control.
Punch! Punch! Punch!
As he continued practicing, Lem’s simulated self felt a rush run through him. His body felt oddly comfortable, like his pores had opened up and he was breathing freely.
He had not realized how tense he had been before.
Lem had a vague suspicion that the spiritual energy from eating two petals from the water lily had not been fully incorporated into his body.
It was only now, when all of his muscles and organs were exerting themselves that the energy was beginning to flow correctly.
Punch! Punch! Punch!
[After some time passes, you stop punching. You feel elated and robust, like you are no longer bloated. You reconsider the benefits of martial arts, and decide to add it to your daily routine…]
Lem was slightly disappointed that his simulated self had not made any significant progress in either martial arts or talisman brushing.
It appeared that breakthroughs were becoming harder and harder to come by.
Even with cultivation, it had felt like his simulated self was on the verge of circulating the spiritual energy through his meridians for several days. It gave Lem the feeling that time was passing by too quickly.
This did not mean that he wasn’t grateful for the reprieve that had been given to his simulated self.
So far, the area around the harvest tree was an unprecedented safe zone, and it had delivered many benefits to his simulated self on top of giving him time to train before the evil caught up to him.
He just could not consider it a pleasant reality because of what was looming over him.
He had roughly fifty petals of the water lily left. As long as his simulated self was putting spiritual energy into his body, he was fine, but after that, Lem knew from experience that the evil would eat away at his vitality like a termite through rotten wood.
Death would come quickly. The simulation would be over and Lem would be forced to take risks with his real body again or go through the hellish scenario that his simulated self had just faced with Master Brightflame.
Lem could hardly imagine trying to follow in the footsteps of the simulation while filled with fear that he would accidentally deviate from the safe path.
One mistake with his real body was all that it took…
