89. Here Comes a New Challenger!

89. Here Comes a New Challenger!

Opening the door revealed the figure of a woman.

"Oh? What are you doin' here Rachel?" She said upon seeing us.

"Rose..." Rachel muttered.

Seeing the situation, I took a step back and watched their little interaction. Judging by how the woman talked, she was probably a friend of Rachel. The thing I found strangest was the age gap. The woman looked about in her twenties and was a redhead but it was a tad bit too unnatural. Her luminous hair was like that of a fire: a bright red color like an anime character. Her hair was tied into a ponytail and it still went down to her waist.

'She should really cut her hair.'

Other than her unique hair color, she had on a casual pair of black pants and a black leather jacket on top of the grey shirt that was held up by her... Let's say knockers. I preferred smaller sizes so I didn't really stare much before moving my attention. Her glasses were resting on her hair, acting as a sort of band that held her bangs up. She was also wearing black pointed shoes instead of something more "feminine." She gave off the vibe of a tomboy—just like Rachel. Though I had to mention that her fashion sense didn't really match with this world's fashion sense.

"So is that your boyfriend?" I overheard.

Now this was strange. Instead of blushing like I had expected, Rachel gave a menacing glare at this person and then at me. There was something about that glare that chilled my bones to the core. My inner instinct was telling me to run away from that glare. Had I been wrong with my initial judgement? I could have sworn she acted like she liked me in a romantic way. Well I guess I was wrong and she probably only saw me as a friend. Not that I planned on making a move or anything because I honestly don't know how to react to such direct love. It was best for me that she didn't hold such feelings.

"So how's the new equipment I sent you?" The woman said loudly.

I couldn't tell if her loudness was just her being her or if she was intentionally saying it so I could hear.

—Rachel's PoV—

'Eh, why is this person here?'

Of all the things, she just had to be here. What do I do if Daniel gets seduced by those meat lumps like all those other horny men? If that happens then I will be forgotten...

No. No, no, no. Daniel told me that because he won't abandon me. He definitely won't. Even if I can't change the future, I must try my hardest. If I don't... If I don't?

If you spot this story on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

Images of Daniel and Rose going into a room and locking the door behind them appeared in my consciousness. Were they going to do what I think? But baby making shouldn't be possible until past adulthood...

'What's happening?'

This was a sensation that I had never felt before. I should only be able to see such visions when I am asleep. This shouldn't be possible. How? But, if this really is...

"So is that your boyfriend?" She said, looking at Daniel with those seductress eyes of hers...

'Intervene.' Shouted a thought from inside me.

I didn't know why but my body obeyed that thought and gave a glare full of killing intent toward Rose. This shouldn't be happening. Rose is my friend. Why am I giving her such a glare? I wanted to stop, but for some strange reason, I felt that there was nothing wrong with giving her the eye.

'Daniel will stay with me.' I could sense a faint uncertainty in the voice that was in my head.

'Uncertainty...' I couldn't hold the urge in and ended up turning my head to check on Daniel.

His shoulders were broad and his face...

'Wait, why am I glaring? Stoopppp!'

I couldn't stop my lecherous glare so I forcefully turned my attention back to Rose.

Rose didn't seem to be affected by the least, almost as if she was unaware that I was sending her death threats through my eyes. I don't actually mean it, but it just feels so right. It was like my inner nature was speaking to me. Maybe if all other women died... Noo. What's wrong with me today?

"So, what are you doing here in the Kingdom of War?"

"Well, we somehow got teleported here." I didn't want to explain it to her.

"Is that so. Well this place is a bum and the people here live like cavemen. There probably won't be anything that will hold your interest. I can bring you back since I have an appointment with your father in a week. Your friend can come along too." She said and looked at Daniel.

—Daniel's PoV—

"The name's Rosen. Scarlet Rosen. Call me Scarlet." She said in a cool manner.

It was well executed I must admit. But James Bond is kind of old don't you think? Well her name kind of confirmed it as well. Scarlet Rosen, the master of the Wizard's Tower. To the residents of this world, they probably see her as an eccentric person. Her fashion sense was most definitely unique.

Hearing her clichéd greeting, I could say with 99% certainty that she was definitely a reincarnated individual like me. So how should I go about this?

"Daniel." I simply said.

I think I should sit back and assess her before acting.

"Daniel. What an interesting name. Alright, I still have to make some final adjustments with the arena and the drones so I'll find you guys tomorrow." She said, before walking away with her hands in the pocket of her pants.

"Should we go?" I said once Scarlet turned a corner and disappeared from the hallway.

"Yeah." She said with a weird expression while clicking her tongue.

For the first time in a while, I found myself unable to discern her thoughts.
