For some odd reason, I was unable to appraise the two Mythical rarity techniques even though they should be considered techniques from the system. As for the Void Severing Scripture, I had no clue since this was the first time I had seen anything filled with question marks instead of a definite rarity.

'Can I appraise the Void Severing Scripture?'

[As a technique that has exceeded the limits of rarity, you are able to appraise some parts of it. To fully access its information, host will require a deeper understanding of the technique itself]

'Appraise it.'

Like I had expected, I wasn't even close to being able to use the Void Severing Scripture. As for the two Air Manipulation techniques, I had a rough idea on how to use them as I had read about them all night long.

After having a light breakfast, I ran straight to the back yard with my rusty training sword. Although it was called a training sword, it was nevertheless made with imitation iron(a.k.a. the lightest and weakest metal known to man).

After swinging my sword a couple times as a warm up, I took the stance described in the diary and prepared to practice sweeping. The moment I swung, swift air came rushing in from all sides, moving in the direction the sword was sweeping. Not expecting such force from the wind, I let my guard down and fell.

Getting back up, I got into stance and was prepared this time around. Reenacting the image in my head, I swept the sword across the air. At that very moment, air came from all around me again. My body was extremely tense, trying to keep myself from falling. The sword, not tough enough to handle the wind, shattered. That's right—it didn't just break into a couple pieces, but shattered into thousands of fragments.

Not expecting that outcome, I hurriedly shielded my face from being scared by the blade fragments flying everywhere.

After the passing wind stopped, I was prepared to do it again despite my previous two failures. Ignoring the numerous fragments spread across the ground, I took out the brand new Seventh Star Sword from my inventory.

It wasn't anything too fancy. It was the average imaginary sword with a hilt, cross guard, and a long blade. The blade had a dark luster, contrary to its bright name. Imprinted directly above the handle, on the blade was a heptagram/a seven-pointed star. Many would recognize it as the thing in magic circles.

I got back into stance. Wielding the dark colored sword, I swept it across the ground. At that very moment, the wind blew in the direction the sword was sweeping in. A process that had happened a couple times already. Yet, this time was different. My body was not tense, it was rather relaxed and flowing with the wind. I knew that this was it.

As I finished the sweeping motion, the air was condensed by the movement of the sword into a crescent wave. Said wave went into the sky and cut a cloud into two before dispersing.

'I need to work on my aim.'

Next, I tried to execute the piercing technique that condensed the air into a needle. Aiming at a giant rock, I held the sword slightly above my waist and pierced with full force, incorporating a similar sweeping movement. The moment I executed the movement, a sharp pain had struck all my limbs. I could feel the air sliding across my body to the tip of the sword. When I had finished, a small hole could be found on the rock. Like it had said in the diary, the grey air needle penetrated straight through the rock.

Shortly after, I experienced an intense spasm. My shoulders, wrists, and hips were extremely sore and painful. Not able to stand it any further, I kneeled on the ground, trying to support my weight with the sword. After a couple minutes, I was able to stand up properly, albeit a bit wobbly. Putting my sword back into my inventory, I walked into the house while carefully minding the scattered metal shards on the ground. My parents were busy today so no one was home. Entering my room, I dropped down on the bed and fell asleep.

Meanwhile, the mess I had made in the backyard was left there for all to see.

—1 hour later—

When I had finally come to, I realized how much of a mess I had caused so I rushed out to the yard to clean up with a broom in hand. Of course, I had an ulterior motive in mind. That was to train using the broomstick like the Sword God did. Recalling the pain that came from using the piercing technique, I vowed not to use it until I was sufficiently strong enough to avoid any collateral damage.

I looked at the mess I made, other than the sharp sword fragments and the deep cracks in the sturdy rock, there wasn't much else. Wait, cracks? I thought I only left a hole.
