Our dormitory room had pretty much everything an apartment had back in my old world. It was rather luxurious too. It even had a device similar to a thermostat that was able to control the room's temperature. The cafeteria was basically a free buffet for the students so we could go there to eat during meal times.
When we woke up, we had just enough time to wear our uniform and rush to the auditorium after breakfast. We seated ourselves at the front where the freshmen were.
After waiting for everyone to get seated, a man around his 40s walked to the lectern. He did not have a beard nor a mustache, but he had evidently grey hair and slight wrinkles on his forehead. Adorned by a majestic red robe, he walked elegantly across the stage.
"Welcome returning students and professors to the start of a new school year. Let's also give a warm welcome to our freshmen. For those of you who are new or have forgotten, my name is Algret Percis Warren. Please call me Headmaster Warren. I am the current 76th headmaster of the Magic Knight Academy..."
Like in my previous world, people like these spouted a lot of bullsh*t when it came to events such as these. Looking to my left, Robert had already fallen asleep. On my right, Sam was all tensed up and listening closely. What a model student.
—20 minutes later—
"And so, it would be an honor to have you all attend this academy. Do keep in mind, I will be expecting a lot from students of my academy. Freshmen, as you head out of the auditorium, remember to take your assigned magic watch."
There were teachers situated at the end of each row ready to pass out the magic watches. The magic watches served as an identification and had many other functions. The teacher passed out the watches after asking for the students names one by one. After a while, it was Sam's turn.
"I'm Sam, nice to meet you."
"Likewise, I am Professor Lisa. I teach strategic warfare."
Once we received our watches, we left the auditorium and were comparing our schedules for any classes in common. The headmaster had previously gone on and on about the functions of the magic watch so everyone pretty much knew how to use it. It could store information and recordings of things. It also has a schedule function which reminds us of what class we should be at as well as a timer. There was even a battle function but that wasn't unlocked until we became sophomores.
Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
We had classes from Mondays to Fridays, while Saturdays and Sundays were free. We had 6 classes everyday. Our scheduled classes were apparently based on our entrance examination scores. Robert did not have any classes about magic but had two extra classes on Weaponry and Conditioning. Sam and I only had one class in common which was The Fundamentals of Magic.
We were technically only assigned 5 classes while we had a couple choices to choose from for the last one. My first five classes in order: History, The Fundamentals of Magic, Battle, Algebra, and Creature Identification. The class I decided to choose was an advanced study that was meant for sophomores, Formation Magic. The reason I was able to choose it was because the requirement to take the class was to be at the Beginner Mage Apprentice realm and the watch was somehow able to detect that.
We split up and went to our respective classes. As I entered the History classroom, there was an old man who looked like Dumbledore's twin already standing at the lectern. I chose an auspicious spot at the end of the classroom near the windows so that it was less likely for someone to bother me. Once everybody made it to the classroom the professor introduced himself.
"I am Professor Quinton and welcome to my class about the History of Magic."
—1 hour later—
"It was nice meeting everyone today. I look forward to a promising school year. You are all dismissed."
Heading to the next class, I took the same seat and awaited everyone else. When Sam entered the room, he went straight toward me and sat down beside me. He didn't really say anything but just waited. As the class settled in, the professor arose from her stool.
"Welcome to my class everyone. I am Professor Lapis. Have you guys ever wondered: What exactly is magic? Well, magic is..."
—1 hour later—
Once the class was finished, Sam and I fooled around about becoming the greatest magic user in existence and then went to our class.
As I entered the room, I noticed how it was different from all the other rooms. This room was a hundred times the size of the previous rooms. It couldn't even be called a room at this point. As I shuffled backwards and looked at the sign near the door, the word Battle was clearly imprinted on it.
"Kid, get in. You're in the right class. This is the arena. Although it isn't as big as the Tournament Arena, this one is only for classes."
Nodding, I walked towards the bleachers and took a seat.
Like usual, once everyone came in, the professor started.
"Address me as Professor Mark. Some of you may remember me from the entrance exams. Do not make light of me, I was only using a fraction of my power. Anyway, this is going to be your battle class. I can see there are roughly a hundred or so people here."
