There was quite the wait and the power going out did not help. The fan remained unusable and so the heat outside started flowing inside. Eventually, Jane was handed several bags of food. The cashier watched with great curiosity as Jane slipped the bags over her arms.
“Thank you! I hope the power comes back soon. Have a good day!” Jane said.
“You too,” the cashier called after Jane.
A lot of time was lost. Surely Madeline had found food and brought it to the men already. Quickly, Jane retraced her steps and entered the forest. Sure enough, Madeline had already returned.
Much to Jane’s surprise and annoyance, however, there was blood on the ground as well as some bones. Jane sat the food bags down and crossed her arms in disappointment. Thomas, however, was seated off in the distance staring at a tree in shame. Chase was back in his human form again. (He forgot to bring his shirt so he’s still shirtless.)

“What in the heck happened while I was gone?! I thought you went off to get food!” Jane exclaimed.
“And I did! I hunted and brought food back. What did you do?!” Madeline asked.
“I ordered Wiccy Burgers!” Jane cried out in frustration.
“Hmmm, well, you know me, I’m rarely full,” Chase said, patting his belly.
“Thomas! Thomas, come here!” Jane called out.
Thomas slowly walked over, head down and tail between his legs. He didn’t have any blood on himself alerting Jane that he was either a clean eater or did not eat whatever it was that Madeline killed. He stopped a short distance away and looked Jane in the eyes. Jane then set the food on a large tree stump that was conveniently near everyone.
“Thomas, were you involved in this plot?” Jane asked. “Tell me the truth.”
“No, Jane, I was not,” Thomas said. “Madeline killed some-“
“Shhhhhhh!” Madeline shushed. “Don’t TELL her!”
“Oh, did you want some, Jane?” Chase asked. “I… I might have eaten most of it…”
“No! What did you kill?!” Jane asked.
“I’m not telling you!” Madeline roared.
“Humans,” Chase said with a bloody grin.
“THAT’S IT! NO BURGERS FOR YOU, CHASE!” Jane yelled, smacking his hand as he reached for a hamburger.
