It was only a few months ago when it happened. Back in early may before this dreadful heatwave had struck… After a bit of misunderstanding between Chase the Werelion and the others who are now part of this family, EVERYONE in the family became a Werelion. Chase, being the father of the pride, is the king, ruling above the others.
Chase is a harvest gold lion with a light brown mane. Jane, as Chase’s bride, is the queen of the pride. Jane is a brown lioness with a little bit of black curly hair atop her head. Then there is Madeline, Jane’s mom, who resides towards the bottom of the hierarchy only above Thomas.
Madeline is a pale yellow lion with a bit of orangish hair atop her head. Thomas is the baby of the family as he had died shortly before becoming a Werelion. Much to Thomas’ dismay, he is stuck as a white lion cub until he ages. Usually lion prides are composed of mostly females, but sometimes, the king will keep a lower ranking male around, and that’s exactly what Thomas is.
Anyhow, the four Werelions exited the mansion with the broken AC. It was now midday and the sun was directly overhead. The hot ground stung their paw pads a little as they dashed through the area. Branches snapped and bushes rustled as the lions bounded along.
Part way through the journey, Chase grew tired and stopped. As a result, Jane accidentally crashed head first into his butt. BOING! With a surprised yelp, Jane tumbled away, knocking Thomas and Madeline over as well. Chase turned his head, staring at the mess he had caused.

“Sorry, guys! I’m just a bit tired!” Chase said, lying down with a yawn.
Chase yawned again, his massive yellowed fangs showing. His stomach growled loudly to which he snorted. The others stared at him, wondering what to do about the situation. Then, an idea was born!
“How about we get some lunch?” Jane suggested.
“Where? We’re in the middle of the woods!” Chase said.
“Well, my mom and I can run and fetch enough food for all of us!” Jane suggested.
“Hmmmmm… Okay! I’m absolutely starving!” Chase said.
He rolled over onto his back. His massive fluffy belly stuck into the air like the top of a hot air balloon. Again, his stomach growled loudly. He lashed his tail angrily.
“Why do I have to help get food?! I’m disabled!” Madeline argued even though she made it this far mostly on her own. “My back left leg is so sore and stiff I can barely walk!”
“You made it this far on your own,” Thomas pointed out.
“I was leaning on you!” Madeline argued.
“Barely,” Thomas argued back.
“You know what? Fine! I’ll get food!” Madeline said, tossing her head dramatically. “May the best hunter win!”
“Oh, umm, well, I’m not sure how much “hunting” is needed. There should be a city nearby,” Jane said. “Don’t worry, Chase, Thomas, I will bring back as much food as I can!”
“And I as well!” Madeline cried out, fake limping away.
