Quit a bit later, Thomas had found and purchased a big umbrella. The others rejoiced as he set it up, casting a nice shade over the sweaty t-shirt they have been sitting on. With the sun slightly further down from the top of the sky, everyone decided to rest. Chase, resting in his usual position (lying on his back, legs together, hands behind head), was the first to fall asleep.
Some rude individual decided to grab a stick and prod Chase with it. Chase growled a bit, snarling at his attacker. The guy with the stick laughed and continued to prod him. Then the stick guy whacked Chase’s belly to see it jiggle.
“LEAVE ME ALONE!” Chase roared.
Chase woke up abruptly, waking the others up. Before anyone could stop him, he transformed into a lion. The guy with the stick stared on in horror, now standing in front of a massive angry lion. Chase gobbled the rude guy up quickly, licking his lips.
The muffled screams of his victim rang out from his belly. The other beach-goers were thrown into a panic. Everyone was running and screaming their heads off. Chase, still very annoyed, decided to attack the innocent humans.
“CHASE! NO! YOU HAVE TO STOP!” Jane wailed.
“THEY HURT ME!” Chase roared, grabbing a few more random people in his mouth.
“NO!” Jane wailed.

“I wanna join,” Madeline said, crossing her arms in annoyance.
“You better not, mom,” Jane said.
Chase continued his rampage. Almost all the beach-goers fled when they heard and saw the angry lion. A few idiots remained behind, recording videos of the rampage on their cellphones. These people were easy targets and were swallowed up.
Eventually, the beach was abandoned. Chase’s distended belly dragged against the sand as he walked. The victims inside screamed, writhing in pain. Chase winced in pain, returning to his disappointed pride.
“Why would you do that, Chase?! Those people were innocent!” Jane cried out.
“No, they hurt me!” Chase said and belched loudly.
“Just one person hurt you. The others were innocent!” Jane said.
“…I’m sorry…you’re right…” Chase said, hanging his head in shame.
“No. They deserved to be eaten. Did you see the dummies with the cameras?” Madeline asked.
Chase’s stomach grumbled and complained. The waves continued, rolling in, rolling out. The beach did not know or care about the people who were lost. Chase laid down, very uncomfortably, with his massive belly bulging out on either side.
“Yeah…maybe I shouldn’t have lost my temper…” Chase said. “But if I spit them out, they’ll just tattle on us.”
“The ones who escaped will tattle regardless,” Thomas said.
“I’m sorry I let you all down again,” Chase said, crying. “I’m just a big hideous monster…”
“No, Chase…” Jane said. “What you did was wrong, but I don’t hate you for it. As long as you realize you were wrong and try not to do that again, I can forgive you.”
“I try so hard…” Chase said, shifting a bit in discomfort. “Really, I do…”
“Come on. Let’s go home before the animal control shows up and attempts to kill us all,” Thomas said.
“Try as they might, they can’t kill ol’ Richmond!” Chase said with a chuckle.
“I almost did,” Thomas pointed out.
“I meeeean…true,” Chase said, belching again. The movement within was starting to slow.
