Chapter 02 like a Seagull to french fries

Chapter 02 like a Seagull to french fries

Turning into a residential street, Jake held his stomach as he walked in a daze.

My head was spinning... I guess the work was starting to take a toll on my body, who would've thought....

Stopping at his favorite convenience store, Jake bought some ramen and some bread, with a plastic bag in one hand, Jake stuffed the bread into his mouth.

"MmMmM~" walking on the quiet street with houses on either side, his apartment was not far away from here, feeling bored, Jake mindlessly looked up at the sky, there were a few stars shining dimly tonight and above the sky, a plane passed by, looking up at the sky while enjoying the night breeze, Jake thought that there were people flying in the plane right now and above them were astronauts circling the orbit, for some reason he was jealous, he had never been on a plane, there was no reason for him to get on a plane but he also had no money even if he wanted to.

Right now, there are people all over the world doing their own thing, if he thinks about it, his life is just an unimportant speck in an unreasonable competition.

It must be nice to be a bird, free to go wherever you want... no, that's wrong, it must be nice to be rich, doing whatever you want...

He heard the news that several billionaires went into space a few days ago, it's true huh, being rich must be nice, if only he had a way, a miracle or something.

Shaking his head which was starting to think go off trail, Jake remembered that tomorrow was his day off, finally something good, felt his mood rise, suddenly Jake saw a shooting star in the sky in front of him, a very bright blue shooting star, he heard that people make wishes when they saw shooting stars, but Jake doesn't believe such a thing, after all it's impossible for money to fall from the sky no matter how many shooting stars he finds.

Hmm... it looks quite beautiful though.

When Jake took out his smartphone to take a picture, as he looked at the screen of the smartphone he bought with his savings, he saw the screen glitching wildly.

"Eh?! No! Wait! Why?! Don't break on me! I don't have the money to fix you!" shouted in despair, Jake didn't understand how his smartphone could be broken, his smartphone was fine a moment ago and he had treated it with great care, banging his smartphone against his hand, that's when he realized a low-pitched sound that was almost inaudible to his ears.

Looking around him in confusion, Jake could feel the wind on his face, but instead of the usual cold night wind, the air felt warm, more baffled by this development, at that moment Jake realized the shooting star seemed to be swaying in the sky, changing direction.

Blinking a few times in disbelief, He didn't know much about astrology, but he was sure that shooting stars shouldn't decelerate and start to turn in the sky while emitting an increasingly loud hum.

The bad thing is, whether it was just his imagination, but the shooting star seemed to be getting bigger, even from here Jake could feel the incredible speed of the thing, But what made Jake's heart skip a beat was when the light of the shooting star disappeared as if it had never existed, as his eyes widened in shock, a few seconds later the shooting star appeared again, but now it was much bigger and brighter, What the hell, Jake could only mutter those words in his mind, he couldn't make sense of this impossible event, but he knew that he had to run now.

What the heck is that?! Is that thing just teleport?!! no no no, the most important thing is that thing is definitely heading here!

Jake quickly ditched his bag and started running on the deserted streets filled with houses on the right and left, the buzzing sound was now getting more real and louder As the wind hit his back getting ever stronger, Jake could feel whatever was falling from the sky was getting closer to his location, he could imagine a large asteroid falling and destroying the entire place, however he couldn't imagine escaping the shockwave, but he might be able to take shelter in one of the houses or basements, whether he would be accepted or not, Jake thought he would just break into the house of whoever opened the door, this was a matter of life and death, feeling the real danger of death looming on his neck, Jake ran to one of the houses that didn't have a fence.

However, the moment he stepped foot on the neatly cut lawn that still smelled of grass, a strange circle appeared at his feet, a red glowing circle with symbols he had never seen before spinning intricately.

"Wait! What the fuck?!" Jake tried to move his legs with all his might but his legs wouldn't even budge.

"Help!! Help!!! Someone!!! Freaking hell happening?!" Screaming at the top of his lungs Jake tried to call for help in a panic, but strangely no one came out, why? He could feel the strangeness of his surroundings, as if there was something that cut him off from the outside world.

Unable to move and knowing something coming towards him, Jake's heart raced like a racehorse, followed by crippling fear, at that horrible moment he could clearly hear the low-pitched sound like an engine and the wind that was now hitting his body hard, that something, whatever it was, was very close, as the lights around him suddenly flickered on and off before shutting down completely, the street that was previously filled with streetlights and house lights was now pitch black, suddenly, a bright blue light appeared from behind him.

Glancing back with a trembling body, Jake looked behind him and into the sky, there a blue light like a spotlight came down from above, and from above the light a building, no, a spaceship straight out of science fiction was flying towards him.

"Are you kidding me" Jake said in a resigned tone but he still tried to move his legs as if he wanted to take them off as the alien light shone down the street like a hunter chasing its prey, feeling fear he had never felt before, Jake thought he was going to die when the light from the spaceship passed him at high speed.

Curling up reflexively, Jake closed his eyes as the blinding light hit him like a flashbang, a moment later a great shock jolted his body that knocked the air out of his chest with strong wind and roar could be felt all around.

Am I dead? He couldn't help but think so, maybe the shock earlier was his body being torn apart, his insides felt like they were twisting but other than that it was less painful than he thought, opening his eyes hesitantly, Jake's vision was still filled with light, so was his whole body, but one thing that caught his attention was the houses below him that looked smaller.

With the wind violently blowing his clothes, the houses below him had their lights back, although Jake could see the roofs getting smaller like miniatures as he rose into the sky at an impressive speed, there was no doubt he was flying in the sky right now reaching a terrifying height and keep climbing, if he fell now he would definitely die.

"I'm kinda dizzy...Oh shit" Feeling the blood draining from his head, Jake started to feel dizzy and darkness began to fill his vision.

I think... this was my first time airborne.... I never realized I was afraid of heights... if I knew this... I wouldn't be jealous.....

"Damn it"

With his last words, Jake passed out in midair.
