Chapter Sixty-Six: Villains Rising: Frankenstein's Monster: Part Zero

Once again, the teleportation was instant.

Where the forest and goons were, now stood a massive city, one I was looking down on from the top of a skyscraper.

The Servant…whatever his real name was, was looking around, his one eye widening as he looked at me, no, as he looked behind me.

I turned around as well and, sure enough, Crisis was standing there, their mask covering their face, hands inside their trench coat, ready to unleash whatever hell he had stored in it.

"What is the meaning of this, Frankenstein?" asked Crisis, clearly surprised at our being there. I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy that.

"Simple, my friend," I said, looking back to the brute that forced me to get there. "This is a trap."

"You think you can best me?" shrieked the Servant, apparently just now realizing what I led him to. "Not in a million years! Million, million, million!"

He rushed to me, and I once again barely dodged his attack. From the corner of my eye, I saw Crisis do the same.

"I'll get you for this, you over ambitious fool!"

Crisis produced three small disks from his coat, throwing them at the servant, who dodged and rushed straight at him.

He seemingly forgot about me which was good. I wasn't armed, and I definitely couldn't physically stand up to either of them on my own.

I looked at the battle, and it actually looked like Crisis was winning. He was on the defensive, sure, but he seemed to have an endless amount of the little disks and what looked like a small syringe that shot a powerful blue laser at the Servant.

Although I would never admit it to anyone, I was horrified. Crisis was my ally for now, but he also clearly had his own machinations. And the Servant would have killed me by now if it wasn't for Crisis.

Maybe Rosita and her cousin could have beaten him, but then we'd have been compromised.

Once again I was reminded of the fact that I was outclassed in this world that I entered. It was only a string of tenuous alliances that had kept me afloat so far, and I couldn't keep relying on that any longer.

I would need to get my act together and finally do what I originally planned to do. And quickly.

I needed to create my own monster.
