Chapter 13: Deadly forest

Chapter 13: Deadly forest

Although it didn't sound much, the difference could be described as comparing a four-year-old to a well-trained bodybuilder.

Yes!! The disparity of strength was that much, compared to Elijah who had been trained by his mother to always be in good shape, allowing him to gain the physic of a trained athlete. But even that wasn't enough as he needed to train his body past human limits.

Even though it sounded as easy as gathering mana from the surroundings, Elijah was already aware that it wasn't a process he would like to go through. As to circulate mana in one's body, he must possess a magic vein or all this will be for not. Possessing a magic vein greatly allows the circulation of mana in the body and allows one to freely absorb mana into the body granting them the gift to use it freely. The magic veins also possess a mana core which is immediately awakened by the magic veins themselves.

If a person does not possess a magic vein, then there is no way they could freely gather mana, much less try to practice a godly magicraft, even possessing a mana core would be practically impossible. But unfortunately, so many were born with it while others had learned to leave without it.

Elijah sat on the ground as he began to gather mana from his surroundings into his body, although it would be very difficult for any other person to try this without guidance, it was quite easy for Elijah as he already possessed the knowledge together with the understanding in practising the magicraft. so it was a piece of cake for him as he just had to follow through with his memories. It was heaven's sent that Deltrich knowledge also came his understanding, if not he would have just been like a fool having free access to an 'FBI encrypted sever'.

…....….

Several hours later

Haa! haha! ha!!!

Elijah had awoken his magic veins and finally advanced, becoming a tier- 1 mortal ascendant. But it wasn't as easy as it sounds because his body was currently soaking in a cold sweat as his body constantly spasmed with every breath he inhaled.

Elijah who had never known about the existence of mana had to feel his bones and flesh, including his internal organs as they broke down and reconstructed, allowing him to feel another level of pain as he just began his level of training. All of this needed to take place as he just awakened his magic veins and needed to form his mana core otherwise known as the heart of one's magic veins.

But since a magicraft is already a detailed explanation of the myriads of information based on one's understandings of whatever laws, an individual only needs to comprehend the magicraft to gain access to the secrets it contained.

And since no magicraft can be the same, one needs to memorize and gain an understanding of the different points mana needs to pass through his magic veins, memorizing them frequently so that they could freely control the flow of mana flowing through these points. After the training is completed, the patterns of each point are all imprinted in the mana core, allowing the mana to slowly circulate through these points freely.

…....…..

Although he was surprised by the short time it took to advance and achieving a tier, Elijah began thinking that lady luck was on his side, but he chose not to push his luck fearing they might run out.

The Deadly volcanic region was surrounded by mountains, mountains so tall that it felt like they could touch the sky. Resting in the heart of these mountains was an active volcano.

A volcano so deadly, that a piece of metal such as titanium would melt within moments if found within the area of the volcanic region.

Elijah choose to go the opposite way which the volcano was facing, he was not stupid in the head, to delve into a place where his survival wasn't apparent and although he had memories of how the underworld thrived and its formative rule, Elijah still wasn't sure about their current situation.

He climbed down the mountain, although it was difficult without a piece of equipment, Elijah who had just advanced into a tier 1 mortal ascendant had no problems as he carefully climbed down through the rocks on the surface of the walls, as his purpose was to descend the mountain.

...….

'Fwoosh! BAM'

Elijah landed on the ground as soil drifted away by the recoil of the wind, with his foot firmly placed on the ground after jumping down a height of 80 ft.

He felt no pain whatsoever except for some minor mental stress, as he hasn't tasted food or water over a lengthy period, and since the time he was covered by those rays of light from the book, he neither felt hunger nor the need for water. Elijah still needed to keep his stomach full and find a comfortable place in which he could lay his head over release his stress.

Elijah looked around noticing he had arrived at the forest, but in this case, it was decorated with trees that were over 60ft tall while some were half his size, and they glowed bright red while others had a lush green area with bushes and plants that were very pleasant to the eyes. Elijah could see a very large centipede with horns on its head at the corner as it crawled in between the leaves, crawling with several dozens of legs beneath its body.

Elijah was very intrigued by the strange creature as it was his first time seeing one. But he was soon awakened by the sound of a flowing river, and by the looks of it, the sound came from several meters away.

It seemed that his advancements in a single-tier as a mortal ascendant didn't only give him enhance strength, but also increased his senses by several folds, which he was still getting used to. Elijah made his way to the sound of the flowing river, he carefully looked around his surroundings not to get surprised by any sudden movement.
