Noticing that her son hid the USB because of the man coming in, she now paid attention to him. The man was about 5'9 foot tall, had sly green foxy eyes, straight hair that hung almost in his eyes, and a small smile on his thin lips. He said "Excuse my intrusion, my name is Brian Valencia, I'm the lawyer of mister Felix Sterling" while giving both of them his business card. Then he smiled at Felix, quite a cold smile. Felix's eyes seemed colder even without Mr. Valencia seeing his mouth. Lieutenant Sterling sighed heavily and said, "Well, could we get to business now?" Mr. Valencia smiled and said, "Of course. Ready when you are." Terry looked like he just swallowed a fly before gaining his composure again. "Well as you see, it is not looking good for your client, now is it?" Terry said proudly. Mr. Valencia just smiled and said "Well, that is what I'm here for. To see if the charges you press, are worthy of mentioning." While sitting down next to Felix, Mr. Valencia's eyes look over Felix's fingers. Felix smirked at him and put his hands into his white hoody pocket. Mr. Valencia just looked into Felix's hooded face and didn't say anything else, seemingly waiting for Lieutenant Sterling to speak again. Lieutenant Sterling watched Mr. Valencia and looked at one particular picture.
In that picture, Felix was drinking coffee while walking into a Building. On the front door, there were two bulky men with sunglasses, they kinda looked like those guys at the door of a Pub or Club. On the front of the building was a sign that said "Galaxy Watchtower" It looked like a cafe. Lieutenant Sterling explained, "This is your client. Well, Mr. Valencia how does it look? As you can see Felix Sterling is going into the "Galaxy Watchtower". You might think that this is a normal cafe, but we found a lot of illegal activity in their basement." Mr. Valencia raised a brow, "You said in the basement, no? My client was there during daytime and opening hours it proves absolutely nothing now does it?" Terry looked smug, "Yes if you see it that way, no nothing is wrong with this. But the illegal activities in that basement are human trafficking, drug in- and export as well as an underground gambling station."
"If there are so many things wrong there why not shut it down and arrest them all? Or is it that a Lieutenant has no way to arrest them?" Mr. Valencia asked solely to provoke them. Terry smirked, "We know what you're trying to do Mr. Lawyer, but it is because of your client, every 16th of the month Felix here, goes to this cafe with a letter." Terry grabs the letter out of the folder. It states that: "Because of insufficient evidence the Judge can't give a permit for the search warrant." Mr. Valencia looked over it, "I don't see anywhere that states that my client was the one giving it to anyone. Do you have proof of that?" Lieutenant Starling raised her eyebrows, "But we have a witness, that person said that they have worked there, for almost five years, and all of a sudden they were called to the office of Mr. Brassard, the owner of the cafe. He saw that Felix was handing something exactly like this to Mr. Brassard and that Felix said that the owner should not be worried, because of his father, the owner would never be caught. Felix further explained to Mr. Brassard that his son, should finally stop contacting him, because it was annoying."
Mr. Valencia just smirked, "Oh, yes of course I remember this meeting you talk about. My client has given the owner a contract, that states that the Sterling Company would give them a few Bodyguards and more security service. Since the Sterling Company is a Security Service and Mr. Sterling is a close friend of Mr. Brassard. Well you see, Mr. Brassard has had a few theft issues and with the caught, he meant they won't ever catch any belongings from Mr. Brassard again. But I don't seem to get what is important about the son of Mr. Brassard?" Terry glared at Mr. Valencia, "It is very important after all we found the owners son with these sweets." He pulled a bag of white bonbons out of his backpack and then pointed to the picture with Felix. In that picture, Felix was getting one bonbon out of the package and threw it in his mouth. "As you can see is Felix eating this in broad daylight, when we arrested Mr. Brassard's Son we analyzed the candy. It seems that it is candy, but it is actually LSD. The Students at his school, seem to have it and that is why he is here, to get himself cleared if he should be innocent or if he really is the one dealing with those at school," said Lieutenant Sterling with a very alarmed facial expression.
Felix, who had been watching how it would play out looked at the picture with the candy. He smirked and said, "That piece of candy, which I had in my hand, do you want to see it?" Felix opened his bag and switched the USB-tick with the bonbons. Mr. Valencia next to him watched him closely but didn't see anything suspicious. Getting the candy out and closing his backpack he smiled coldly and said, "Here take it, it is just normal mint candy." Terry took it and walked out of the Interrogation room. Lieutenant Sterling looked at Felix seriously, "Even if the candy you had with you is not a drug, it still doesn't prove that you weren't dealing with the real deal at school." Felix coldly looked her in her eyes, "And doesn't prove that I was either. Maybe you should ask around the school first, the teachers would most likely give you a tip about the real dealer. And didn't the law say anything about innocent until proven guilty?" Felix tried to hint to her. Lieutenant Sterling narrowed her eyes and said annoyed, "Why? Because you bribed them to shut their mouths or even say another student's name?" Feliy raised a brow amused at the situation, "You think I would do that? But no, I will ask you a question. The Teachers and almost the whole school know where it comes from. Why do they not tell you?"
'Either way, Gregory is getting on the nerves of the headteacher anyway, he sells it for a too high price. And if you put him behind bars there is nothing for me to worry about. Since he is a lapdog my Father placed him in school,' Felix thought annoyed. Lieutenant Sterling rolled her eyes, "Because you bought them and scared them with your father's name." Felix sighed, "No, because they are all taking it or buying it for someone else. Of course, they wouldn't want to get their supplier into jail. After all where else could they get it? I could easily tell you who, but why don't we get to the pictures here first? It is what officer Terry wanted to begin with, remember?" Lieutenant Sterling's look got complicated, "As you can see are there pictures of you speaking with people who all have a crime record? The crimes of them are drug in- and export, human-trafficking, weapons in- and export as well as murder, stealing, and rape. Why are you with these people?" Felix looked at the pictures and asked "Have you recorded my conversations with them?" He looked up and saw his mothers's anxious face. "Probably not then, if you had done that, not only would you know, that my Father sends me to his clients rather often, but also that they have major trust issues with everyone. They all wanted to confirm their security service and contract with the company in person."
The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
"I never talked to them about anything else than business. What about these here? officer Terry said there were kidnapped, but they all look very healthy, without wounds and not even malnourished" Felix first explained and then asked. Lieutenant Sterling frowned, "These individuals were reported missing, but then came to the station bringing a form for the Witness Protection Programm saying they were kidnapped, but someone there let them go and sent them here. When we asked what he looked like they said they couldn't see him, because he always wore a hood or a mask. The only clue we had is that he was the son of a security company." She smiled, " Why don't you show your face? In almost every situation we've seen you, you don't show it. This is an interrogation, don't be disrespectful and show your face. Please."
Felix just pulled the hood down and forth came his sharp emerald green eyes, butterfly eyelashes, and his curly brown hair. After removing his mask came forth a slight smik, both handsome and dangerous. Lieutenant Sterling looked at him and those eyes reminded her of the time when her son came crying to her. Tears in those long lashes, big eyes, and a pouting mouth, telling her about his friend who was mean to him. Her expression softens and she puts the head in her hands to calm down a little. Felix watched his mother calmly, he cleared his throat, "So what you telling me is that I could have possibly saved them or even freed them. You want to arrest me for that?"
Mr. Valencia who had been silent for a while looked at Felix, he had never seen his face before. Then again, it doesn't matter, not for him anyway, but that didn't mean he was deaf. The way Felix said that could mean that he did exactly that, Mr. Valencia would probably have to tell Robert about it. Mr. Valencia put one hand on Felix's leg, a sign telling him to not say anything anymore. Felix looked at him, got the hint, leaned back, and did not speak anymore. "We will take our leave then, you can tell us the results of the candy pear mail. After all, if all these people said, that my client is their savior why still confine him here? You have no valid points left to hold him here, isn't that right?" Lieutenant Sterling focused on Mr. Valencia and said "If you say it like that, of course, you can leave." She then looked at Felix, "I hope you're doing the right thing." Felix just stood up, put the Hood and mask back on, "And I hope you don't have delusions about me, just like the time when I was eleven years old." With a not-visible sad smile, he followed Mr. Valencia out.
Then months flew by, something happened but he doesn't remember clearly. His father gave him a new test when he found out that felix was getting the kidnapped people in a Witness Protection Program. What it was? He doesn't know anymore. These are all events in the year between his 16th and 17th Birthday, he only remembers the beginning though. What happened after he came home from that Interrogation, he barely remembers it. What happened in those 10-11 months, he has no idea. Who was Mr. Brassard's son again? He couldn't remember his face clearly...
On the evening of his 17th Birthday, he was listening to music. His father was downstairs talking with someone. Felix heard windows breaking. Without any warning, the house was overtaken by the police. They stormed in without any warning, through the roof, windows and broke down the doors. They arrested his father before going to Felix's room and arresting him too. While they accompanied them, Felix was silent and didn't say a word, only staring out the window like he expected this to happen for a long time. When they arrived they put Felix in an interrogation all by himself. Felix finally didn't have Lawyer Valencia with him and took his USB stick out. After some time his mother, Lieutenant Sterling, came into the room and told him he was exactly like his father. Felix gave her the USB stick and told her everything he did every day in his life was on there, after they evaluated it, they would see that he was saving people and helping the Police, rather than being like his father. She called him a liar and didn't even listen when he defended himself. Saying he fabricated all the "evidence". Weirdly sometime after Felix got Interrogated, he and his mother were on the streets, and the only thing he remembered was his mother saying something like, "Don't worry the afterlife will give you what you deserve" with teary eyes, before she shot him.
...
Feeling feverish and sweaty Felix sat up, he looked around and saw a raven on his lap looking directly at him. "Took you a while," it said, getting off his lap and flying to a chair, which appeared out of thin air. Felix stood up and realized that his hands were transparent. He looked at the raven and wanted to ask something, but the raven already interrupted him. "If you want to ask if you are dead, it is a maybe. You know sometimes the ones who came here were already dead, were in a coma, or could control it. Although the last one was a one-time thing, I hope," the raven said rather bold and cocky.
"So ehm...-," Felix began but the raven interrupted him again. "This place, I don't even know where this is, I have been trying years to get out. My name is Void or at least I called myself that because I forgot my name. But enough about me and this absolutely weird room. Listen, kid, you have to go through a few worlds, don't ask me how many because I don't know. For every human that was here, it was different. It could be 100, 200, 50, or even just 5, it is always different. In some cases, they were here for thousands of years. In these worlds you have to fulfill some wishes the dead had, if you do that you and I get soulforce, and for every world I will teach you something it can be anything. But it has to be 1 world = 1 talent/ability or whatever. Got that?"
Felix just opened his mouth to ask something, when Void already ignored him again, "You did wonderfully, now stay tight the first time is always a little rough. But you'll get through." Void then whispered, "Maybe." Felix with wide eyes felt a slight pain on his forehead and was overtaken by numbness and sleepiness.
