In the truck, they were met by Steph, Zeana, Loraine, and Ben. It was still dark in the truck, though. The only light sources were flashlights that Ben, Zeana, and Steph were holding. Zenix walked toward his best friend on the right side of the truck, Cindy and Lea walked to Steph to sit down next to her, and Roy and Ted walked to the front of the truck where the supply crates were. They say crates, but it was really more like pallets stacking on top of each other and secured with plastic wrap. Noah saw Roy pulling out a flashlight from his backpack, so Noah walked to Zenix and Ben, who, to him, felt like the safest option. Sitting next to Zenix, Noah pulled down his bag and put right in front of him, kind of hugging it. He laid his head on it, and the fatigue of the intense rescue mission almost made him fall asleep, but he unconsciously listened to the conversation next to him.

"Yeah, Mr. Waltermoor is driving, and Maison got shot, which is why Jay is also in the front of the truck. The plan is to bring this baby to their grandpa, this way, we can receive help from him," Ben explained in a very hushed voice.

Zenix nodded, "You won't believe what we saw on the other side..." His voice sounded didn't want to talk about it, but the memories of the scene before him still haunted him unconsciously.

Noah was immediately reminded of the headless student council president hung up by rope and his guts just falling out.

'The guys in there must have enjoyed it, for it to be so gruesome. The girl, too... for her to look like that with so many cuts, they must have enjoyed it. Well, those were definitely Psychos though.' Noah thought to himself. Noah then focused on the duo again, Zenix had a lost look that stared right to the roof. While Ben only cast a quick look at Zenix before looking at his hands, kind of regretful. Now he was wondering what happened for Maison to get shot, but he knew he could not ask. It would be kind of inappropriate. He wanted to look at the girls, as they could also be talking about interesting stuff. But before he could, the truck shook hard, Noah held his bag more securely as he almost fell on his side.

"What was that?" Zeana asked with an almost unnoticeable tremble. When they heard gunshots, the back of the truck began to have little holes caused by them. Ted and Roy immediately fell to the ground and tried to crawl to the side where Ben, Zenix, and Noah were. Lea was pulling Cindy behind her but had a hand on her shoulder to make sure she was there and would not leave. Cindy took Lea's hand on her shoulder and held her hand to assure her she was still there. If they were not in a dangerous situation right now, Lea's heart would be dancing, but they were in immediate danger of being shot. So she had to put the rhythm of her excited heartbeat to the back of her mind.

There was a voice speaking so loud as if spoken through a megaphone, "You did not really think we are letting you escape? We wanted to have so much fun with you, just like we had with the other ones!" The deranged voice then began to laugh crazily.

"We loved how the guy wanted to scream, but he couldn't. You know why? Because we ripped his tongue out! AHAHAHAHAHA! And then he watched as his organs fell out of his body! OHHHHHHHHHH, the pure shock and agony." The voice was panting into the megaphone as if turned on, by the picture that was replaying their mind. Loraine, Zeana, and Ted looked like they wanted to puke this very second. The rest looked very angry and disgusted. Zenix, in particular, looked like he would jump out any second just to break the neck of whoever just talked.

Ben held him back with a hand on his shoulder, "I know it's hard, but we are at a disadvantage here. If we don't find a save spot right now, we could be shot at any second, and I don't want any more shotwounds." Then his voice was a bit louder as he said to the others, "Let's get to the front of the truck, and try to hide behind the crates."

They gave a silent nod as they carefully walked to the front of the truck. They had about five crates filled with various food and drink beverages. Then, as they hid behind the crates, so they were saved from shots that were being fired. They heard bikes go to the side of the truck.

One thought in everyone's mind is, 'What if they shoot from the sides?' Noah thought fast and looked at Lea, "Could you try to put the crates around us as some kind of protective shield? We already have two in front of us to shield us from the bullets firing through the back. If we put one crate on both sides, we would be saved there, too." Lea looked at the two crates that were located more in the back. She would be unsafe for a while, but if they succeed...

Lea nodded, "I will try." Then she squeezed Cindy's hand as if saying she would be right back. She first went left to get the first crate, as a few shots fell, and she hid behind the crate she wanted to get. She had to get in front of the crate to push it, pulling it, and it could make the crate. Thus, the pallets fall apart. Lea took a deep breath as she ran in front of the crate and pushed it toward the others. More and more shots fell, and the backdoors let more and more light through. Luckily, none of the bullets hit Lea.

Lea succeeded in getting the first crate to the right position. The people inside were now safe from possible left shootings. Her anxiety was high as she had to get the second crate into place, Cindy was also breathing heavily next to Noah, as she watched every move of Lea. More shots, with every shot Cindy flinched, as if every single one of these shots could potentially kill Lea. But Lea pulled through she pushed the other crate, Noah couldn't stand it anymore, and he went over to help her. Ability or not, he should have helped her from the beginning. Zenix and Ted seemed to have the same thought. The three of them helped Lea push the crate, careful so as not to push over all the pallets.

If you spot this story on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

All four got into the pallet rectangle safely, Cindy hugged Lea hard as she was back in safety. All of them then sat on the floor and hoped that the three who were steering this truck would get them away from them. Another shot, but this time it came from the from of the truck, and at the same time, the truck steered a hard left. Steph almost cried, and she hoped her father was not shot. He was the only one she had left. Tears were gathering in her eyes. Then, the truck gained control again and drove forward. They felt the truck was trying to pick up speed, but how much speed could a delivery truck have?

Then they heard another shot and the screeching of a wheel, but it sounded like it was getting further and further away. They heard a few more shots and then suddenly nothing. No shots, and no one even driving near them.

"Are we safe now?" Ted asked while clenching their hands. They looked nervously at Roy and then at Noah, Ben, and Zenix.

Zeana stood up as she said, "Obviously they are go-" She could not even finish that sentence as she was shot straight in the head. Right between her eyebrows, the blood was oozing out, and her lifeless body fell forward.

The girls put a hand in front of their mouths as they tried not to scream, tears already running down their faces. They may have seen zombies for so long, but watching a human being getting killed in front of them. They couldn't take it, and although Zeana was the most homophobic and unfair bitch they'd met. She was still a human, someone who was not yet infected and an ally toward the survival of the human race.

Noah although he put on a shocked and scared face, deep inside he was gloating that he was right. 'That bitch really did die first. Shocker! But honestly, who knew what kind of other strings she pulled, before the breakout. I don't have an ounce of sympathy for that bitch.'

Even Ted who had been not validated by her from the get-go, had short breaths, the thing that was in front right now was not Zeana as a person. Because deep down they all knew she deserved it, but instead it was how easily she was killed by that single bullet. Right now, Lea was more than grateful not to have been hit before. The people outside were not gone, but the people inside did not know what to do. They have a corpse inside her with them, and blood is flowing all over the floor. Both Ben and Zenix were completely unfazed after the initial shock. They looked at each other and then kind of crouched toward the dead Zeana. Ben was at her feet and Zenix was at her shoulders, they nodded to each other before heaving her up and throwing her over the crates. As the body landed the shot came, but only where the sound came from was shot. Ben and Zenix crouched at the same time the body was thrown. And breathed a sigh of relief when they weren't shot.

Zenix then gestured all around not to make a sound. Not that anyone would have made one to begin with. So now they just waited it out, although most of them were a little traumatized by someone being killed. Noah's eyes kinda got heavy, until he couldn't keep them open for much longer. He did not know what the others would be doing, but he really needed sleep...

...

Bang-

A shot was fired, the tall man beside him held the gun that fired, and in front of them was a young woman. She was not alive anymore though, the bullet went straight to her heart.

"That is how you kill someone, always go for the heart or brain. It's the most lethal," the tall man's cold amber eyes stared down at him, this was his father. Felix remembers this, this was the first time he was to shoot someone, as in the dream he had before he only watched as a spectator. But still, he watched from his own eyes, he did not have a bird perspective. But he still felt his fists clenching and unclenching, and a heavy unwillingness wash throughout his body. Every cell in his body was telling him not to do anything that involved taking another person's life. But that didn't seem to matter to his father, he just gave a hand signal towards one of the other guys and someone else was brought in.

It was his friend's mom, she was thin and worked at a coffee shop down the road to where they lived. He always went there after school with his friend, since they had the best muffins. What was she doing here?

"This woman has not given her debt payment and always asks for more time, you will now show her what it means to not pay the money back," his father said as he handed the gun in his hand to Felix.

Felix took the gun but could not move, he looked up to his father and said, "I can't do this she is the mom of my friend and she already struggles a lot."

His father's eyes went degrees colder, "I did not ASK you to kill her I ORDERED you to do it. Unless... you want to face the consequences?" His father asked, Felix chose to suffer the consequences, and what he got made him wish his father was capable of killing his own son.

His father tortured him in ways that were not physical, he tortured his mind. Made him watch the most gruesome deaths, the most psychotic serial killer murder victims, and some medieval torturing devices and how to use them. And all that, because he could not kill someone. Because a twelve-year-old boy could not bear to kill someone.
