"To make such a fuss over nothing. How delicate the youth of today is, isn't it already enough that he has his sleeping room? I am your teacher and the oldest, so sleeping in a room with teenagers much younger than me is also uncomfortable. Why don't I get my room?" Zeana questioned and sounded as if she was really disadvantaged by the situation. Loraine looked at the door and rolled her eyes, before focusing her attention back to Zeana and Noah.
Zeana looked at Noah and frowned, "What? Don't you have your own things to do?"
Loraine smirked, "Yeah, why are you here? And don't think I didn't see what you did with Jay. He is very interested in you, too interested. Are you trying to seduce him? Don't you dare get together with him, I had my eye on him the moment he was in my class."
Noah frowned, "But I didn't do anything. After all, it was Jay who asked me on a date this afternoon."
Loraine's eyes widened, "YOU'RE GOING ON A WHAT NOW? I honestly thought he was taking you to eliminate zombies, in the hopes of you dying prematurely." Jay also noticed the screaming, he probably noticed it before too, but probably ignored Zeana completely. He said something to Zenix and Ben before slowly making his way to Loraine, Zeana, and Noah.
"YOU WANT TO TELL ME, THAT YOU GOT A DATE WITH HIM? YOU'RE NOT EVEN HERE FOR A DAY," she screamed. Her eyes were fuming, but was quiet for a moment, and walked closer to Noah. Her face was right before Noah's a sly smile rushed over her lips as she whispered, "Be honest, you tempted him with your body right? There is no way, he would take you on a date if you weren't. After all once a loser, always a loser. And after all, do you really, want him to die too?"
Jay was now directly behind her, leaned forward, and whispered into her ear, "Since when was it your business, whom I date or go on an outing with?"
Loraine was surprised by the sudden sound in her ear, but when she processed what just happened, she immediately turned around. Jay stood back fast before her ponytail hit her in the face.
She looked at him nervous and a bit terrified, "W-what are y-you doing behind me?" Zeana watched all this and was not entertained at all so she gave a side-eye to Noah and left.
Jay just smiled a very friendly smile, but his eyes were stone-cold, "What are you screaming at Noah for? What are you mocking him at every chance you get? Did you think I didn't know..." Loraine gulped, "I am not screaming at anyone. And it's not my fault that Noah is such a bother. Didn't you try to avoid him before too? Noah here, is the one who lost his whole family. He is so unlucky and don't forget if you get close to him, you'll die too. He is the one who hung around James all the time, or more like pestering him. James's sister died after meeting Noah once, he has the angel of death on his shoulders. And you could die too if you're together. "
Jay looked surprised and looked directly into Noah's eyes. Noah's green eyes glistened like jewels and looked directly back at Jay. The beauty of his eyes clouded his mind and he thought to himself that Noah was not an angel of death at all, more like a pure white angel of life and prosperity. Jay looked at Loraine, who was looking at Noah disgusted.
"What are you talking about? I did at first yes, but the mother of James said that his sister was very sick. So James brought Noah to his sister, so she can see that James finally has a good friend. After James showed her Noah, his sister passed away that night. James blamed it on Noah ever since," he explained to Loraine, who now has a complicated look on her face.
Jay then said, "Since when is it your business anyway, who I am going on a date with?"
She was a little panicked by that question, "Nothing, but I was just worried about you. Even if James's mother said that his whole family died. You can't tell me, that it doesn't have anything to do with him."
Jay wanted to say something, but before he could another voice interrupted him, "We all get it, Noah is a death angel, you're petty and Jay is not in his right mind. Could you stop now?" The owner of that voice was no other than Lea who stood in the doorway, with Cindy right behind her looking over her shoulder.
Even Ben and Zenix who were standing near the door looked very surprised.
Lea held her forehead in annoyance, and then looked up right at them, "Are you, children? Is that why you have to bicker? I can t-" All three looked at her, one annoyedand, one innocent and the third was very amused.
"Theoretically we're still children most of us are not 18 or 21 yet," Ben interrupted her.
Lea cast a deathly stare at him, "Ben?"
Ben smiled very innocently at her. "Yes?" he answered.
"SHUT UP," Lea said slowly.
Ben nodded, "Yes, ma'am." He saluted and backed away slowly.
She cast her gaze on the trio who was bickering, even though Noah hadn't said a word after Jay came to them.
She walked up to all three of them, "As I said, you're not children who still go to kindergarten. Outside are hordes of zombies and you lot have nothing better to do, than to bicker the whole time? I get it when you're pulling a fight with our good old Mrs. White, but at least under us students some peace shall be kept."
Loraine smirked wickedly, "Yes, your right. There are hordes of zombies, but we are here bickering and fighting. So maybe Jay and Noah shouldn't go to eliminate zombies together, after all, if such a little thing already casts a dispute, it's better if they never go anywhere together alone."
Lea looked at Loraine in disgust, "Loraine the way that I and everyone else see it, you and Zeana are the biggest bitches here right now. So do us all a favor and shut up, at best forever. Because I don't make decisions for either Noah or Jay, but I can decide to shut your bullshit up." Loraine was outraged and stomped out the door, pumping her shoulder extra hard on Lea's shoulder. Cindy rolled her eyes, "What a bitch! If we had a strong team and were savage, we would have thrown Loraine and Zeana to the zombies long ago." Zenix snickered and gave a friendly push with his elbow to her waist, "But sadly we are nice people and need the manpower." Lea rolled her eyes, took Cindy's shoulder into her arms, and walked to the right corner of the classroom with her.
Zenix then whispered to Ben, "They always get so protective of their girlfriend." Ben nodded, Zenix looked at his face and got an idea. "Why can't you protect me like that," Zenix said in his most aggrieved voice and sat on the floor while pulling a bit of the fabric from Ben's pants.
Ben looked down at his best friend in disappointment, shook Zenix's hand off his leg, and walked toward Jay and Noah.
With one final look at Zenix, he shook his head, "Time and place Zen Zen. Time and place." Zenix sat on the floor for a good minute, before standing up and joining the three.
"Okay now that the drama is over," Ben was talking and he couldn't even finish his sentence, as he stood still as if time had stopped.
Noah furrowed his brows until he heard a noisy raven talking, "Yeah, unbelievable! I was starting to enjoy that, oh Felix you should have made more drama. I was enjoying my popcorn, hoping someone would get slapped and then it was interrupted. How rude!"
Noah saw his chance to talk with him, "Finally, Void you are someone who just pushes people in cold water and says swim. So now that you're here, I want a full explanation of how it started, if this world is set in a book, or if it's just another dimension. That could be very important, because if Loraine is the female lead or any other important role. I really fucked up." Void flew out of a black vortex and landed on Jay's head.
Looking Noah directly in his eyes, "Book based you say... I don't think so, I don't think this world has any plot. Does the world where you live have any plot? Or do you just don't know it has a plot? Would it make a difference? And the way I saw it, you can already imagine what happened. Right?" Noah looked directly into the raven-black pupils, feeling as if there was just an endless void in them. Thinking like that, the name Void really suits him.
Void stopped looking at him and flew to the window that was blocked with wooden planks and nails, "Any more eye contact and I will feel flustered. What you asked, I have heard so often and the world that follows the plan of a book or script are not many. If I had to put it into numbers it would be one in a million or a billion, since there are more worlds that will follow the plan of human behavior. That I also don't get, in books you have to follow the plan of the character design, but in real life, you follow the path that is more suitable for you. What I want to say is, you are in this world because it is one of the many where it doesn't matter at all if you OOC. If you don't understand that, it is "Out Of Character"."
Noah was a bit surprised, "So no plot, I don't have to stay in character and I just have to fulfill the three wishes? So I get to stay after fulfilling these or do I just get beamed out, with no chance to say goodbye? Why can't I remember many things, does it have to do with this situation I am in right now?"
The raven flew back but landed on Ben's head this time. Void looked on top of Noah's head, "This youngling. I don't know, but there have been some people who lost their memories as a whole and some just don't remember a year before they came here. As I said three wishes you must fulfill, you know like a genie. And with the staying... it depends. If you are still alive or maybe it is just a hopeless world, then sometimes we even have to abandon it entirely."
Noah was now thinking, 'Is there even something like an end-goal? And he didn't answer my question'. He knew he could not ask the raven about it, Void would probably talk about it in an existential crisis again.
"But don't worry should a world ever follow a plot, I of course will tell you. Until they fulfill these wishes and try to stay alive. Dying in the first world truly is no great feeling for you. I don't care, but the one before you was scared for about a month. It was quite annoying. Well then see ya!" Void said before flying in the air, forming a black vortex and flying inside. As soon as Void was gone, it seemed like the time slowly started to unpause.

"-we can talk about the real things." Ben ended his sentence and looked very expectant at Noah and Jay.
Zenix who was now next to Ben, put his arm over Ben's shoulder, "Yes, the drama is over. So the plan for today was one hour of free time and then three hours of hunting. The teams were Zeana and Loraine down here by the radio, Ted, Roy, and Jay first floor scavenging, and Moi, Ben, Cindy, and Lea go to the roof for the sign. By the way, yesterday we were going up there, but the whole concrete roof from above had fallen. It's now blocking the way to the roof and we have to see if there even is a place to land for the helicopter."
Jay nodded and clapped, "Let's get the others the hour is over, after all, it is time for work." Jay walked out and Noah could hear him shouting to come for a meeting. Then Jay walked back into Noah, Ben, and Zenix.
He announced, "Let's sit while we wait for the others" and went to get another chair for Noah. Putting the new chair next to the chair he sat his bottom on, he just smiled at Noah while petting the chair he just got. Noah smiled awkwardly and sat down next to Jay, who was grinning. While waiting, Noah felt suddenly a hand on his left knee. He looked at Jay who was staring at Ben, they seemed to be communicating with their eyes. Zeana and Loraine were the first to come back inside and sat down on the opposite side of Noah.
Loraine was not amused when she saw that Jay's hand was lying on Noah's knee and was sending daggers through her eyes at Noah. Noah looked away and he could feel Jay's hand wandering more up. Jay's hand was now caressing the middle of Noah's thigh, then down to his knee again and up to his thigh. Noah had the feeling he was getting higher and higher each time. He then wanted to move his leg a bit away, but as if Jay felt it he now grabbed his leg hard, so he could not escape Jay's grip. Noah was so uncomfortable right now, he would have long given him a fist to talk to, but he was sitting with other people.
'Besides, in the end, if he can get most of the people that aren't Jay, Loraine, or Zeana on his side, then he can get sympathy easier. Right now the groping Jay did, maybe it will come in handy later,' Noah thought to himself and although it is disgusting to have someone's hand on him, he can endure. As he sat in a more comfortable position for himself, Roy and Ted walked in and sat in the only chairs that were still empty. Meaning Ted was now sitting next to Noah, on his right to be precise.
Finally letting go of Noah's thigh, Jay stood up and walked in the middle of the chair circle, "As you all know we have a new teammate, he joined our group yesterday and should now be integrated into our group. The day before yesterday, we had these two days planned out, but now we have to change a few things. Not only because of Noah, but because the concrete from the roof collapsed right in front of the door. So we need a lot of strength to move away the debris, to get to the roof, and if we're lucky the rest if the roof is still intact. So that the rescue helicopter can land there and take us away. If we're unlucky and the roof on the other side is also collapsed or unstable, we might have to venture out of the school in two months to get more food."
Zeana looked annoyed, "I hope I don't have to. After all, I'm not as young as you are, what if I lift something and can't move for a week? So I really can't do it."
Jay nodded and smiled wickedly, "Yes, because you're so old that you can get arthritis. Of course, we can't let you do this." Ben looked at Zenix and as they both looked at each other, they both began to snicker.
Offended she said, "I'm only 36 years old, mind you, but I seriously can't lift this I've had a knee operation not too long ago. So lifting something so heavy, I really can't do that."
"I am sorry, but I don't think I can do that either. After all last time, I helped you with anything, you got hurt because of me, I don't want to put that burden on you again," Loraine said in a small voice and made herself look like she was frail and weak.
But sadly everybody knew she was a bitch, so they all thought the same thing 'Why pretend?' And certain best friends thought 'Can we just, silently throw her out the window somewhere?' while looking at each other.
To that the smarter of the two (Ben) just shook his head and transmitted through eye communication 'Others would get suspicious, let's take her with us and accidentally let her get eaten by the zombies.' Zenix looked at Ben and nodded.
Noah just looked at the two and his face was saying 'What the hell are you doing?' Sadly Zenix and Ben's brain cells were not enough, to comprehend what Noah was trying to say. To that, Noah looked at them and just knew they were a perfect pair of best friends. What goes on in another world with other people? They certainly didn't know.
Lea and Cindy seemed to look at each other and then at Ben and Zenix, before raising their hand to signal that they wanted to talk. Jay looked at them both and nodded.
"Well, I don't know how the two of them see it..." signaling with her head to the two boys. "But we would like to keep the team, you know Cindy, me, Ben, and Zenix. So we can get all the concrete out of the way, I just don't know if Roy and Ted want to help us or are more satisfied clearing the zombies?" Lea suggests now looking at Ted and Roy.
Ted seemed to be consulting with Roy, the Roy nodded at Ted, "Sure, why not after all we now have Noah, maybe he and Jay can clear the zombies so we can help you four. After all, we want to go out of this shithole together, right?"
All of them nodded their head, Jay then smiled at Noah with a weird glint in his eyes, "Seems like we got our date earlier than expected."
Zenix whistled and Ben looked at Jay, "Uuuu~~lala~", then began to snicker.
Noah smiled shyly, thinking, 'No, please, god, no.'
Jay smiled a very confident smile, but Loraine wasn't amused at all, "Why don't I go with you and Noah? I know that last time it was pretty difficult, but I have learned and I should know how to properly defend against zombies too."
Loraine said and as soon as she was done speaking Lea scoffed, "Yeah right. So please correct me if I'm wrong, but madame doesn't want to be a burden when it's just moving the concrete bricks away. But thinks that, going into real danger she won't be one. How funny."
Jay then picked up the conversation and said concerned, "Yes, Loraine if you want to help, you should help the other six. After all, if something like last time happens again, most of us would then think it was deliberate." With such a sharp sentence she reluctantly shut up and nodded, meaning she would help the other six.
Right at this moment Noah remembered that he forgot something, 'In the beginning didn't Jay say there were twelve people, but right now there are only 10. Jay, Zenix, Ben, Roy, Ted, Lea Cindy, Me, Zeana and Loraine. Where are the other two nobody seemed to speak of them either. I should ask Jay later when we are alone together. Yuck.' A shiver went down Noah's back.
"Well then Noah you're coming with me and the other now seven," Jay said as he looked at Loraine. "Will go to to the roof and clean the way to the door. Anything unclear?" He asked, but everyone just shook their head. "Great then let's go," Jay announced and walked up to Noah, took his left arm, and pulled him up so that he stood right before him. Then he bent down so his mouth was right at Noah's ear, he whispered, "Aren't you happy we had our date earlier? I'm just going to get a few things, you wait here."
The warm air at Noah's ear sent shivers down his spine, he nodded at Jay, and Jay went out of the classroom. As soon as he was outside he wondered where his backpack was, yesterday before he went to sleep did he just put the back next to his mattress?
Or did he leave it here, when they wanted to search through it?
Before he could think any longer, Jay came inside with the backpack in his hand, "Here, you left it next to your mattress, before you slept yesterday." He said and handed Noah the backpack carefully, after all, he knew what was inside.
Noah smiled at Jay, "Thank you. I forgot where it was, so which floor are we going on?" And put it in his backpack. Jay just smirked, took Noah's hand in his, and walked out of the classroom with him.
"See you guys at lunch!" Jay screamed so the others could hear him and proceeded to take Noah up the stairs. They passed the first floor, where Noah woke up and went up another floor. Now on the second floor, they walked to the third room on the right, the door was marked with a yellow spray sign. He didn't seem to remember seeing those sprays, maybe he was just too concentrated on scavenging and surviving to notice.
Noah looked at the yellow dot, "So what does yellow mean?" He looked at Jay and Jay just looked at the door.
"Roy and Ted are looking through the windows up there" he pointed to the small rectangular windows above the original door.
"Depending on how many are in there, they are going to spray a color. Green for 2 to 3 zombies, yellow for 4 to 6 zombies, red for 7 to 10 zombies, and anything above is purple. In the purple rooms, we only go if we are more than 6 people."
Noah nodded and thought to himself again, 'Wait they didn't say anything about the crystals either, and even though Zenix brought them yesterday. They just seemed to vanish after 15 minutes. They also don't talk about the two other teammates, they don't talk about the crystals, but they talk a lot about the helicopter. What is going on here?'
As he thought to himself, Jay took a bundle of keys and opened the classroom. A zombie came right out scaring Jay to the side. Like a reflex, Noah saw the zombie coming at him and kicked him right in the stomach with his left foot, before roundhouse kicking him with his right foot. The zombie was lying on the floor, his brain all over the ground because the last kick from Noah was aimed right at their head. The zombie's head was so soft, that the kick completely obliterated it. Jay looked disgusted at the floor and then he seemed to realize what just happened.
Amazed he looked at Noah, "Where did you learn to fight like that? Weren't you, like bullied a lot?"
Besides the hurting leg, that still had to heal a stab wound.
Noah realized he fucked up...
