“Andy”, she calls out in joy while hugging him but in no time, Andrew grunts in terrible pain which jolts her out of her happy mood, remembering that he was injured and such actions would put such strain on his injuries and take it longer to heal. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to. I forgot you were injured due to seeing you awake”, Marian says understanding what kind of pains Andrew must be going through.
‘Does she have to hug me that tightly? I almost fainted from that pain. It reminds me of that slut. Who knew if she was doing it purposely at that time just to make me feel that amount of pain’, Andrew says in his mind while feeling pains in his body. He couldn’t even sit upright due to the sheer amount of pain that would flood his body the moment he tried performing such action.
Noticing his actions of wanting to stand up and not being able to, Marian says anxiously, “Don’t worry about anything. Just tell me what you want to do and I would get it done. You don’t need to stress your body single bit. It needs rest”.
Andrew just calms down but something piqued his curiosity as he couldn’t help asking, “Where are we by the way?”. He noticed that there were in a different carriage than the one they rode on formerly and thus couldn’t help asking. “Ohh, about that...”, Marian explains what happens immediately after Andrew lapsed into unconsciousness. From what Edson had told them to how he has provided the medicines for him and how they had met this group of soldiers of whom Eve was familiar with their commander and thus they accommodated them. She also told Andrew of how he had almost died due to the poison which he used to coat his weapon and how he had been saved by the soldier who had attended to him.
Andrew frowns on hearing the story, he didn’t fully trust Eve after what he had done to her, he thought she was bound to want to get her revenge and the reason she was probably trying to get close to him was due to that. He wouldn’t for one day believe that Eve has any romantic interest in him. He was on guard but he could only smile bitterly as he was bedridden and there was nothing he could do in this state that he was in.
Even a little child could kill him at this moment. His whole body was aching from the stab wounds. Although vital parts were avoided, the strikes still went through his body until they pierced through the other side.
If this was his former life, he was sure that he would have been dead from the first life-threatening injury he had gotten but after his transmigration, there seems to be a force preventing him from going to that bright light.
But he was happy nonetheless, it was a nice improvement although he didn’t like to be put in such deadly situations that he was so injured and felt pains that would have killed a normal human.
From now henceforth, he would try his best to avoid any battle that would put his life on the line. But well that isn’t for him to decide but for the laws of the world and fate.
He still also didn’t understand why Edson would perform all those good acts. He had thought that he was indeed a goner after going against such a strong person that he couldn’t even defend against. The way Edson had started attacking him had him thinking that he won’t be spared no matter what but he was shocked to find out that Edson had provided the medicine for his treatment. After a long time of thinking, his stomach grumbles loudly. Even the grumbling of his stomach sends pain all over his body. Such pains were unbearable.
From listening to the rumblings of his stomach, Marian finally remembers that he hasn’t eaten anything for over a day now and was injured this badly. “Wait let me get you something to eat”, she says as she jumps out of the cart to who knows where leaving Andrew behind.
Marian was running forward to meet Olivia, since she was the only woman in this military troop, Marian thought it would be easier to speak with her and request help from her.
The whole army troop were already fully awakened, and Eve woke up also when she saw Marian running around looking for Olivia, she was puzzled by what the matter could be and thus runs behind Marian hoping to catch up with her while calling out her name.
“Hmm”, Marian heard her name being called and turns behind. It turns out to be Eve who was running behind her, obviously running out of breath. Marian stares in wonder about what could have made her run out of breath and couldn’t help looking towards her in askance. “Didn’t you hear me calling your name a whole while back?”, Eve says after catching a bit of her breath. She wasn’t an athlete and didn’t involve herself with anything related to much exercise, hence she was this way.

“Huh? You were? I didn’t hear you though”, replies Marian not having heard her name being called due to the fact that she was in a hurry and didn’t pay too much attention to her surroundings or what was being done.
“What are you running around looking for at this time of the day?”, Eve asks ignoring the fact that Marian hasn’t heard her callings formerly.
“Ohh, I almost forgot”, as if remembering her mission once again, she runs forth without explaining things to Eve. Eve is annoyed but runs after her due to her curiosity.
Soon they found Olivia just at the base of the camp who was talking to one of the members in her unit, it seems like they were discussing something of absolute importance.
She notices the girls coming from afar as if running from something and couldn’t help looking behind them to check if something were behind them, but she couldn’t see anything. She didn’t have to wait long though as the girls were soon before her, both out of breath.
It took a long while of deep breaths before they were able to recover from their hurried breaths.
“Ma’am. He has woken up and he is hungry. Do you have anything he can eat?”, those were the first words that left Marian’s mouth as soon as she met with Olivia.
“Huh”, Olivia was surprised that Andrew has already woken up this early from such injuries, although the poison has been removed, it still didn’t mean he could have woken by now. His body should have been finding ways to help in returning its functions to normal and in the healing of the wounds. But he was already awake at this point, ‘That kid is awake already?’, was what Olivia thought on hearing the words spoken by Marian.
“Are you sure he has awakened?”, Olivia couldn’t help asking still in doubt. “Yes he has, but he is very hungry and he is unable to even move a bit”, Marian says in reply.
Eve who was behind felt truly happy about Andrew having woken up, she almost questions herself about her feelings but she still couldn’t find any answer so she just had to push them aside.
“We will continue the discussion later”, Olivia says towards the soldier, to which he saluted. Olivia just holds the girls and moves back towards the camp, where she picks up the soldier who has formerly treated Andrew and also carried some liquid meal which can be easily digested with some water also. Olivia doesn’t seem to be holding back for a child whom she has just met, in this world where there isn’t meant to be something like a free meal.
Soon they were back in the cart where Andrew lay while Andrew was deep in thought with his lips fully dried, seems like just a bit more and they would shrink deeply.
Although he has been inflicted with such injuries which cause heart rendering pains just on the most minute movements, his eyes were still sparkling in brightness as if the injuries and the whole world doesn’t matter, and all that he was seeing in front of him was his goals.
Although deep in thought, the moment the girls and the woman came before the cart, he has to snap out of his thoughts and look carefully at the newcomers who has appeared before him.
The soldier who has treated him formerly walks up to him and starts performing his checkups. When he had been told that Andrew has woken up, he has been equally as shocked as Olivia if not more than. Such an injury would have knocked someone unconscious for about three days to a week but now that it wasn’t even up to a day, Andrew was there eyes opened as he glances at them all. When the soldier initially wanted to start his checkup, Andrew had wanted to resist just out of reflex, after all, he couldn’t just trust anyone to touch his body, and no one knew if he wanted to cause some sort of harm to him.
But the soldier seeing him this way, just says, “Calm down, I am not going to harm you. If I wanted to do anything to you, I would have done such when treating you yesterday”.
After listening to those words, Andrew smiles wryly fully understanding that what the soldier just said was the truth. After doing his normal check-up and understanding that he didn’t have any problems, he gave the medicine that Edson had initially provided for him to drink.
Andrew wanted to resist taking it knowing that it came from Edson. But his new doctor pressed down with little force on one of his injuries which causes him to open his mouth out of being in pain. The drug was thrown in and he was made to drink some water to allow the drug to perform faster.
The soldier soon left after his checkups, although he was curious, he didn’t have the right to ask and he had other tasks to perform. So he left Andrew in the company of the girls and general. Andrew was sweating hard due to the pain he has experienced from having the injury being pressed on just for him to take the drugs such that he didn’t even look at the girls anymore and just focused on trying to control the pain.
‘Everybody here is presently after what is left of my shattered life. Firstly, I was hugged tightly I am sure that my wounds must have been reopened, but now the injury has been directly pressurized. These people are demons I say. Huge demons’, Andrew says inwardly.
