A cascade of stones cascaded down, pelting the black bear and obscuring it from view.
Lee, in the present moment, shifted his gaze to Oscar's bleeding shoulder wound and thought, [This seems like a series wound.] He spoke to Oscar gently, "Rest for a moment. Ira and I will handle things from here."
Oscar retrieved his bull medallion and began swiftly treating his wound.

Despite the fact that he needed twenty minutes to fully treat the wound, Oscar knew that he couldn't leave his friends to face the threat alone.
Lee was about to object, but Oscar's resolute expression made him realize that his words would fall on deaf ears. Oscar's thoughts revealed his true intentions: [Even though it will delay my own recovery, I can't let them face this alone. I must hurry.]

Spitting out blood, Lee managed to utter, "Man, that hurt."
The black bear was about to launch a finishing blow, but Ira's gunfire diverted its attention.

Ira cried out, "Lee, hurry! I'm running out of bullets here!"
"Ding, ding, ding."
**Unfortunately, the bullets from Ira's guns still couldn't penetrate the bear's thick hide. Annoyed by the gunfire, the black alpha bear Rono reared on its hind legs and slammed its front p
aws onto the ground with a thunderous impact.

The shockwaves from the impact sent stones flying in every direction. Ira, who was a bit farther away, was struck by one of the stones on her head. Lee scanned the scene, witnessing Oscar's struggle to treat his wound, Ira nursing her injury, and Jan and Jack trembling in fear. The anger within him surged, a burning fury that shattered something inside him.

As the shadow continued to absorb energy and push against the chains, some of the excess energy began seeping out of the shadows cape and into Lee's reality, lending him strength.
