Chapter 37 : Explaining

“Textile business? Beriz? Wheatfield Village? Okay, wait, tell me about that village first then. I think I’ve never heard of that place before. Where is it?” Vebi asked. Now her curiosity was truly triggered. It seemed that Enjar had a pretty big plan in front of him, where he would be doing a big business.

Knowing about something would be beneficial for anyone, naturally she would be better off knowing some place that she never heard of. Knowledge was a sought after thing after all.

“It is a place in the southeast of Spring Land City, our city. And as you already know, there is a line of small mountains around that area. And in some place around that mountain is where the Wheatfield Village is located.

“You needed to reach that place within at least a day if you circled the mountains at full speed too. It was a place behind those very mountains, at the other side where a village lay there. It was pretty far from here, so it was naturally normal for you to not know about it. Even I only knew it just a few moments ago.” Enjar said while lying his body back again on the bed. His right hand was behind his head, acting as a pillow for it. While his left arm hugged the woman beside him.

Vebi smiled appreciatively, and accepted his gesture. She snuggled closer to him while lining his body using his fingers as they talked. She could smell his body, the manly smell that oozed from his body was hard for her to endure. Their bodies touched each other, and they could feel each other's warmth and love.

“Of course, unless you can cross those mountains and walk as fast as you ride a cartridge, then you can reach it in not even an hour.” Enjar grinned when he said that. “Ah, but you may also need a few more than that to reach it, because you may get lost here and there.” Enjar said as he seemed to be remembering something.

“Hahaha, crossing the mountains would naturally take more time to reach that place. Not only we cannot use a carriage to cross it, we would also be tired if we kept on walking to pass it. I mean there was just no way right to reach it faster unless one needed to circle those mountains. And walking as fast as a carriage? What kind of notion is that?” Vebi replied as a matter of fact, with a ridiculous face drawn on her face.

“Yeah, but it is possible to cross the mountains if there is a way that could make carriages to cross it easily.” Enjar played with her skin too, by rubbing it and massaging it interchangeably.

“Wait, is it possible to make a way to those mountains?” Vebi just heard something that had never crossed her mind before. Making a way so that a carriage was able to cross them? How could it be possible? How many men were needed to make it possible then? There were so many trees there, and the grounds were not even right?

The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement.

“It is possible. And the safest way would be making it sedimentary. Means, there will be many turns to reach the top and to go down the mountains, not just a run up run down way. Even though that would be quite a sight to witness. But yeah, the best way to do it is to prove it to you right but unfortunately as you can see I cannot make it right away right. It is just a theory of mine… or someone else at least.” He replied with a little smile.

“I see… Okay then, what is your agenda in that place anyway? Is there something that piqued your interest in that place?” Vebi asked.

“I have information that there is a gang that is making quite a ruckus there. If I was able to help them crush the gang, then I will be given a prize, and it is a land that had quite a value, if I might say. So I wanted to see what kind of mission this is, and what kind of struggle one needs to make to finish that quest.” Enjar said while looking at her face.

He could see that there was sorry and fear deep inside of her eyes. She looked restless for some reason, and she looked like she was quite in a panic when she heard about what he was going to do.

“A gang? Are you going to go there? What are you trying to do?? It is dangerous! You should not go there, Enjar, and is that even our responsibility? You have already had your hands full of many things and agendas, let the officials and authority deal with it.

If you lost your life, then what will happen to me? What will happen to Tara?” She asked while her eyes had gotten misty. She could not think about the seemingly reckless actions that Enjar had in plan. She could not understand just what was the reason behind his plan for him, and what was the motive.

Enjar smiled widely when he saw her being so sweet like this. How could one not be touched when someone else was worried for him? How could he not be happy? He cupped her face and kissed her forehead, which then continued by his talking.

“It is exactly like what you had said, Vebi. Let me ask you this question then. If somehow a family was being oppressed by a group of people, and they were helpless, what should one who had power do? Should he just let them do their business and we mind our own business?

What if we were in that kind of situation? What if we were being oppressed and we truly needed help from other people to come and save us?

And when he had that kind of hope in our hearts, little did we know that the people around us decided not to help us. It was all because they had already many businesses in their hands, they were not their responsibility and the officials were the ones who should clean that mess, and more than that, they were just being cowardice!

Look! They have been there for months and I refuse to believe that there is not a noble who never heard about those things happening there. We don’t know whether it is either because of the politics that has been happening there or something else, but that’s the thing. That’s why I at least wanted to see whether the news was right or not.” He ended his talking with a sigh, after all the things that he had said.

“But what about you, Enjar? What do you have? What kind of power do you have right now? I am not looking down at you, but at least you should have some cards up your sleeve to contend against them, right? If not, then isn’t what you are going to do wll be in vain?” She lowered her eyes, seemingly in a dilemma of what was happening. On one hand, what he said was right, saving someone else was truly an act that deserved appreciation. But if she lost someone else in that act, then what about her?

Enjar could see the complex emotions reflected on her face. He rubbed her head lovingly, to make her feel more safe and comfortable. She consciously felt more at ease, knowing that he was being worried about her. She hugged his arm hard, as if she did not want to let it go. Enjar smiled wryly when he saw her being cute like this.

“This is where there are two options, honey. First option is to seek help and do whatever we can to help them, for as small as we can. They could amass help and do whatever they can to help them. But the second thing is, just brace yourself like a madman and show the world that being brave against oppression even though he was far weaker than them was the way to fight!” Enjar had a jubilant expression on his face. It was like he was in awe of someone who dared to do something like that, bracing oneself to be the pioneer of resistance even at the price of one’s life!
