Chapter 3 : Freezing Cold

"Kek… Aahh…."

A rough grunt sounded out in a painstaking way. It could be told just from hearing in a single syllable that the person is indeed a male. The man's voice that came out from this mouth brought the nuance of ailing and twinge.

'J-Just what the hell is happening….

Why is… my head hurting and my body feels sick…

I was just having dinner with my family and…

What did I eat? Did I perhaps really consume some kind of poison?'

He was shivering and it was as if the man was living in a frozen place. His body was stone cold, and some symptoms of fever could be seen from checking his body. The breathings that came out from his mouth and nose were in disorder and rugged. But suddenly…

"Ackk…Aaahh…."

The man experienced something more painful. His left arm that had been touching something soft up until now moved over because of the pain. He held his head using his left hand around the side of the forehead and pressed it hard. He looked like he wanted to weaken the headache even if he needed to bang his head on a wall.

The hoarse mutterings that came out from his mouth did not stop either. If there were people who had been here for a while, they would notice that the grunts from the man had become more intense and higher in intonation.

He kept on experiencing this phenomenon for some good minutes until suddenly he stopped. No more grunts and coarse voices came out from his mouth. His eyes were only looking at one single point above the bed, as if this was the last look that he would imprint inside his brain. His body tensed and contracted hardly.

The good news was that his breath was not in disorder again. The bad news was that he was not breathing.

If there were family that accompanied him in this room, they would be crying out loud while bawling their eyes wet. It was naturally because all of these characteristics could possibly lead to a thing that they were afraid of the most. Who loved to see their loved ones leaving this world? Who was not sad when they could not see the loved ones face and presence again in this world? Who were not sad when their companions now had lost a member forever in this world?

No person in this room realized beside the one in question that he indeed was not dead. He just experienced something crazy. Something that could make his eyes look lifeless, something that could even make his breathing stop. And most importantly, something that had been bothering his mind and kept on lingering inside for who knows how long.

'Ahh… I see…So it's true after all…Truly there was life and even another civilization that had been residing beyond that cursed place…'

That was the first thing that he thought in this state.

'My name… was still the same just like I thought… that's the one of the only things that I remembered after all…'

He started to contemplate things inside his mind.

'It has been 3 years since that last fight.

'Who knew that it's going to end up like this. All of the planning, all of the agendas that we've done up till now have gone into a very unexpected outcome. I mean honestly I still can't even make sense of how I am still alive even after crossing that forsaken border. But it's all a gamble after all, and somehow… I succeeded.'

He had started to breathe again albeit thinly and very slowly for whatever reason. His two arms were getting wet and moist from warm waters, while no other parts of his body showed this kind of occurrence.

'I wonder how they are doing right now. I absolutely hope that at least Doom K knew what he needed to do back then. And more than that, I hope that they understood. That was surely the most sudden decision that I've taken after all. It's like I left a patient when we were in the middle of operating that patient's body after all. But surely, it's not like I left without any reason. And that reason is…'

He tried to remember his experience when he entered a very deserted place. A place that could not be fathomed by anyone from where he was living before. Even his own faction who was known as the most advanced and strongest faction in that realm were still ignorant about the place that had been taking many lives for who knows how long.

'And those people… heh, I just want to say just like what I've said to them. I am inevitable. Even if they had gone from my grasp, there is no way I'm going to let them go after what they have done. But the question is, how many that are still alive?'

A small frown appeared on his face. When he remembered some people inside of his mind, his body was showing symptoms of anger and agony albeit slightly.

'But whatever the case is, they had an earlier start than me if my conjecture is right. With the times that have passed up till now, especially with the better advantages, they are probably holding some power already. Heh, no matter because that's the scenario if they all did not die or maybe even committed suicide, hah.'

The man mocked inside of his heart. A grin appeared on his face, and it got wider little by little when he was still thinking about this topic.

'And more than that, even if they had an earlier start than me, there were still things that they knew they could not prevail against. Are they going to give me some surprises or not is the question, heh…'

'Sinners, O sinners, the due for your debt has come and now it is time for you to pay the price.'

His smile got very wide and it most likely could not go any wider than that. The smile looked chaotic and crazy, a normal man who saw this would feel creeps crawling behind his back.

'Heh… But more than that, what if this realm has something that could actually prevail our advancement? World is full of mystery, even I somehow got into this place by bypassing that ridiculous mist. Who knows what things that lay under the surfaces of all these.'

The grin on his mouth was slowly getting toned down and light. He closed his eyes for a bit and then opened them again. A little bit of seriousness could be seen from his pair of black eyes.

'No matter what, I will start from scratch again. I need to make my own kingdom for my own agenda. I cannot just sit idly and do nothing until a miracle comes onto me right? Even if I know that for now I have no knowledge on how to get back to my own world right now, but if there is a way in then there must be a way out.'

'I don't know how long it's going to take. I need to check his bracelet first, and if it's working, then it's going to be absolutely great and helpful. And more than that, I could ease their worries sooner than expected.'

But those all were big plans after all. He was still in a bed laying down in sickness. He could not even stand up properly let alone building a freaking kingdom. Solving a big problem needed to solve the smaller problem first just like they said. The most important thing for him for now is none other than he himself.

Yes, he was sick. But more than that, he was powerless.

'Who knows that even my power has been reduced into this state… Damn, I know that they too will be like me if my conjecture is right, but it is pretty miserable not gonna lie. Now it's going to literally start from zero. But is it tho?'

He remembered something that happened the past few days. Something that actually scared him to the limit before. Now he knew that it was actually his trump card, and probably the trigger to make him remember everything again. And most importantly, it was something that could be said as his signature, something that had been mentioned as his speciality for many people.

'The seed of Fire. Just a single seed could raise one prowess into the apex in that world, they said. Heh… There are only four seeds though up until now from what most people know. But now, is it going to change? Because most importantly, now I'm here…'

He looked down subconsciously, and when he saw something somehow he smiled again. He looked like he was so excited now that his smile just cannot seem to close at all. Because more than all of that, more than all of the things that had been mentioned above, there were two women beside him that had been hugging his arms for a while now. Women are truly men's weakness.
