“Dropping!” Rex shouts as the clamps holding the Raptor in place disengage with a heavy clunk. The giant metal airship begins to plummet as gravity pulls it closer to the frozen ocean below. “Spirit Coilis are powering up!” Rex reports that as Tim holds onto the control hands, his thighs squeeze the saddled chair between his legs while the ship free falls.
“Are we at spirit speeds yet?!” Tim struggles to shout as magical energies coalesce around the airship's wings. Each wing held a newly invented magical engine, dubbed the Spirit Coils, due to them using personal contracted spirits to help fuel the enhancement enchantments.
“Almost, sir!” Rex reports that as a speedometer shows up in Tim’s view, the readings slowly reach the speed needed to activate the Spirit Overlay. “Now!” Rex yells as his magical energy touches both Spirit coils on the wings of the Raptor as he activates them.
“Engaging Spirit Overlay!” Tim’s gloves glow with bright, magical light throughout the airship. “Rex!” He yells while straining to pull back on the controls.
“Got it!” Rex yells back as the airship pulls out of its dive, shy of the icy waves.
“Damn… We need to work on a better take-off method.” Tim lets out a massive sigh of relief as they gain altitude. This dive is the safest way to deploy the new duo Spirit Coil airship design they have discovered. “How are the passengers looking?” Tim asks while punching a few buttons as the ship soars around the floating carrier.

“HAHAHA!..” Chestor was laughing while his superhuman strength caused his safety handles to reform into a more ergonomic pattern. “It was one thing to feel it, but to see it…” He says while trying to get his death grip to release.
“I was not expec-..” The mage sniffs before recoiling from the smell filling the transparent cabin. “Did you shit yourself, Tanner?!” She covers her nose as the rest of the group all start to gag as the filthy odor spreads from an unconscious Tanner. “Rex! Clean him up, now!” She shrieks in disgust, trying to fan the fumes away from her.
“Right away, Lewin. Releasing Cleansing Spelling!” Rex’s light bubble form expands to wash over all the passengers before recollecting near the center of the room, above the Seer Orb. “Excuse me, I have to tend to the coils now.” Rex flashes his light before floating up to merge into the ceiling.
“Is everyone else awake, Davy?” Chestor calls out, unable to turn around due to the restraints on his seat.
“Good boss, just a bit, ugh, unstable…” Davy reports while holding a white bag below his mouth.
“That was so fucking thrilling!” A shrill laugh next to Davy made him turn a bit greener.
“Hey!” Chestor yells out. “Limit the language,e Syleen! Kids.” He snaps the fingers of his only freed hand before pointing at the Seer Orb.

“Sorry, leader, the ride was just soooo fun!” Syleen starts to giggle as she stares at the battle below. “That also looks like fun…” She watches the Adventures put up a defensive fight while a humungous creature shatters the icy field just a bit away. “Fin, Fin! What’s that?!” Syleen excitedly points out the Leviathan as the Hornet Squadron begins their attack.
“The Leviathan?” The man beside her with dark leather armor points to the large, deep sea creature. “We fought one of those last Storm Run. Remember the big one with those three pincers?” Fin scratches his stubbly chin while staring at the creature.
“Wasn’t that one rounder with a more, uh, circle-like body?” The boy speaks up to Fin’s other.
“You’re right, Peter, this one seems to be a lot more… what’s that word… Lewin?” Chestor struggles with a word, so he begins to tap his fingers on his armrest.
“Stop hammering the chair, or you’ll break it again…” Lewin let out a sigh. Due to Chestor’s abnormal strength, Tim and her master had to hire an exceptional blacksmith to help reinforce only his chair. Even after that, it can only resist his power for a while until it entirely breaks. “The word you want is oblong and resembles the Spinyback Sea Mantis you can find at most ports.” Lewin says before waving her glowing hands to summon a journal from her robe. She starts to mumble softly as a magic pen writes her words down.
“Ooo, Spinybacks are delicious, especially boiled with butter and herbs.” Peter licks his lips while staring at the mammoth crustacean as if it were nothing but food.
“Calm down there, old timer, and I bet if you ask nicely, the Hornet boys will save you a few pieces for our victory feast!” Syleen laughs while kicking her legs as the magical attack from the Hornets starts. “Tear’em up!” She giggles, watching the airships dive at the creature before shifting their positions with unnatural agility to avoid the Leviathan’s counterattacks.
“Are those tentacles?” Fin squints, trying to see the thin whipping appendages trying to swat away the Hornets as they close in on the head of the mighty beast.
“Sting it! Sting it!” Chestor begins to chant softly as the Hornet airship’s rear glows brighter with magical light. “Woo!” He throws up his arms in cheer as the Hornets seem to halt all movement briefly, yet the rear whips forth, releasing a heavily enchanted metal bolt. Instantly after attacking, the Hornets buzz away from the raging monster.
“It was effective?” Fin taps his lips while staring at the Leviathan thrashing about.
“Those weapons are made to counter all types of armor, hide, or skin any monster may have.” Lewin speaks up while motioning for her magic pen to hold. “The real question is, do we have enough energy and ammo to hold them off long enough for the fleet to retreat safely.” She points to the large hole in the ice; another creature is climbing out.
“If they are holding off those, then who is helping the Adventure protect the Goliath?” Peter asks after storing a small recipe notepad in his vest pocket. “What were those other airships called again…” He groans while struggling to remember the names.
“You mean those Puffers? Looks like they have it handled.” Chestor points out the older models of the airships circling the battleship. There were battle mages with rangers hanging on the sides of the airships, firing their spells and magical ammo into the mass of enemies below.
“Why are we circling the carrier? Aren’t we supposed to be joining the rest for the Run?” Fin asks while pointing towards the ceiling, where the image of the floating carrier starts to glow with magic light.
“Brace for tether!” Tim’s voice shouts over the comms just before a solid magical line shakes the airship. “Tether connected, starting Sling maneuver!” He shouts, and the view instantly blurs as the ship speeds up.
“Fuck me..!” Chestor hoots as he is forced back into his seat as the pressure of gravity grows.
“Language, boss!..” Davy struggles to shout as he closes his eyes.
“”Uugh…”” The rest of the passengers weakly groan as the force of gravity nearly knocks them out. Yet, with the help of a putrid smell filling the cabin once again, they instantly regained their senses. “”Tanner!”” The angry cries rang out as the view turned into a colorful, washed-out blur.
