Chapter 6

Taking Trevilto along, Nissa headed to the ocean to satiate her hunger. She planned to stay there for a few days, immersing herself in the healing salt waters and perhaps indulging in a few lonely boatmen.

As they reached the shore, Nissa let out a deep sigh of relief. The sound of the waves crashing against the rocks and the salty breeze filling her lungs made her feel alive again. Trevilto watched her, knowing how important this was for her.

“Are you feeling better?” he asked, his eyes filled with concern.

Nissa nodded, “Yes, much better. Thank you for coming with me.”

Trevilto smiled. “I’m always here for you.”

Nissa walked into the ocean, feeling the cool water embrace her body. She let out a contented sigh and allowed herself to float on her back, staring up at the clear blue sky above.

As she relaxed, her thoughts drifted to the information Trevilto had shared with her. She knew it was important, but it was hard for her to focus on anything else when her hunger was so intense. She tried to push the thought aside, but it kept nagging at her.

Trevilto sensed her discomfort and swam over to her. “What’s on your mind?”

Nissa hesitated. “I just can’t stop thinking about feeding. It’s like an itch that I can’t scratch.”

Trevilto nodded. “I understand. But maybe instead of focusing on feeding, you can focus on other things. Like the beauty of the ocean or the sound of the waves. Sometimes distraction is the best way to overcome our urges.”

Nissa considered his words, and he was right. She needed to shift her focus onto something else. She closed her eyes and listened to the sound of the waves, letting it wash over her and calm her mind.

Nissa knew Hattie would understand her need to recharge, and she would come to her when she was ready to talk. For now, she would let the ocean heal her and give her the strength she needed to face the challenges ahead.

That is when she took Trevilto into the depths and fed on him. Her hunger was not satisfied.

Nissa swam in the deep waters of the ocean, her siren form complete once again. The moonlight illuminated her pink and purple body, creating a beautiful and serene scene. As she swam, she heard the songs of other sea creatures, their melodies blending in a beautiful symphony.

For a moment, Nissa felt at peace and calm. She couldn’t remember the last time she felt this way. It had been so long since she had taken the time to connect with the ocean and all its wonders. She felt grateful for this moment of stillness and reflection.

As she swam, Nissa couldn’t help but think of her home and the sea creatures she had left behind. She missed the familiar sights and sounds of her underwater world. She made a mental note to visit her old stomping grounds soon.

For now, she would enjoy the beauty and tranquility of the ocean, allowing its calming presence to wash over her. Nissa felt grateful for this moment of respite, knowing that the challenges ahead would require all her strength and resolve. She closed her eyes, listening to the songs of the sea, and let herself be carried away by the gentle currents.

Nissa swam towards the source of the beautiful songs, her heart beating with excitement. The melody was so familiar that she couldn’t resist the urge to investigate.

As she drew closer, Nissa could see the graceful form of another siren swimming in the distance. She could see the beautiful pink and green scales, and her heart skipped a beat. She knew without a doubt that it was her sister, Kelarecea.

Nissa quickened her pace, eager to reunite with her long-lost sister. As she approached, Kelarecea turned to face her, and their eyes met for the first time in years.

For a moment, they just stared at each other, both too overwhelmed with emotion to speak. Then Kelarecea swam towards Nissa, her arms outstretched.

As they embraced, Nissa felt tears welling up in her eyes. She had missed her sister so much, and she couldn’t believe that they were reunited.

For the rest of the night, Nissa and Kelarecea swam together, catching up on all that they had missed in each other’s lives. They sang together, their voices blending in perfect harmony.

Nissa felt a deep sense of gratitude for this moment, knowing that it was rare for sirens to find each other again after being separated for so long. She promised herself that she would cherish this moment, and she would do everything in her power to keep her sister close by her side.

As the night drew on, Nissa and Kelarecea swam towards the shore, still singing their beautiful melody. As they neared the beach, Nissa caught sight of Hattie waiting for her, a worried expression etched on her face.
