Groaning Jack leaned into his chair no words came to his lips as he stared at the message in his vision, subconsciously rubbing his left thigh was something he had found himself doing through stressful situations this past year and today was not much better. No matter what direction he looked the screen or status as it was referred too stayed up in front of him while he looked around, finding his eyes land on the computer screen in the office his eyes went wider then he had ever thought possible. It was 21:30, that was not possible he had been in there for close to two hours, quickly looking down at his watch he saw the same thing as well as his phone. What the actual fuck was going on today! He had been wandering around the area and fought four of those so-called Weeping Angels, but the clock stated it had been 15 minutes later including walking too and from that door.
The more Jack thought of it the more insane it felt, looking back at the stat points listed that were available that were now flashing at him like a warning light as if to say “hey you fucking idiot, use me” not having played any games before seeing as he always enjoyed playing things like football and baseball growing up or even just out hunting with his father since an early age. Sure, he had picked up a game or two when over at a buddy’s while drinking so he understood some concepts but looking at all his current stats the agility one stung bringing back undo memories of the explosion and a tinge of sadness at loosing his leg. It was nice to see that both his endurance and strength were relatively high as well as his intelligence. But no other information was fourth coming when he investigated each further so guess work was all he had to go on and outside of that he did have points he needed to place. He figured since his agility was so low due to the injury Jack figured let us put one point into it to see what if anything happened.
Agility 7-> 8 Increase (-3 base)
As soon as he placed the points in, he felt his limbs limber up it was like a bolt of electricity was arching through his body he felt like he could move a little easier even with his prosthetic leg it almost felt more normal or natural to himself. Figuring he had 3 more points left he placed two more points into Agility bringing his total all the way up to 10. That was both amazing and terrifying as instead of a slight jolt of energy it was as if he touched a live wire at a substation feeling his body lock up and loose control was not something jack had ever experienced before in his life and not something he wanted to relive.
Several minutes later Jack sat up from his slumped position in the chair both exhausted and full of energy as if he were one with his leg. He now had the base agility he once had with his body before the incident. He would go and kill hundreds of those stupid statues no matter how fucking scary it was. Now though where to place the last point it almost made sense to Jack as dexterity was now the only one left not in the double digits.
Dexterity 9 -> 10
This time the pain was in his hands as if the muscles where reworking themselves it was a weird almost ticklish feeling just as it began it slowly stopped. Noticing that the screen had flickered off Jack realized it had been waiting for him to spend all his remaining points before naturally closing. As this was not something jack wanted popping up willy nilly Jack focused on different words he though would work or at least guesses at after a few random guesses one of them worked “Status Open” he said aloud before receiving a response from the system.

Would you like to open Status window Yes/No
Not actually wishing to open his status window as he had just seen it not two minutes back, he said no aloud closing the prompt in his vision. Caring back to what he was previously doing Jack did not notice a physical change thought out loud he muttered to himself “Okay so with agility I had felt myself becoming more like how I had more Intune with my body as that makes sense agility is a mixture of reaction times as well as the feel of one’s body. So, saying that what kinds of things relate to dexterity specifically the hands…” Just as jack finished saying that a spark of inspiration flashed into his mind jack reached down and withdrew his service pistol looking at it, he quickly and aptly reloaded unloaded and stripped his gun all to put it back together as his fingers moved it felt more smooth or streamlined then it would have been a noticeable even if small difference to what it had been previously.
This helped jack figure out that he could at least piece together what all the other stat options would give if he placed a point into them a thing to think about for sure but was, he going to go back in that was up for a debate at least for the moment while jack allowed himself to continue loading and unloading his weapon drawing and holstering the weapon with precision moves. Just as he was finishing with his little exercise another notification popped up.
Gun Maintenance and Handling level up, Level 5 awarded due to previous experience.
That was something else for sure, he had figured the other skills were something randomly awarded due to his kills since he had used a combination of those skills when he had been in the Liminal space as it had called itself. But he figured that it was only because of that, but now if he showed proficiency with a skill or talent would he be gifted a system notification on his success? That would have to be something explored for sure later.
Shrugging to himself Jack ensured the weapon was secure and went down to the armories to reload his fired rounds. On his way downstairs he found himself more on guard even though this area was at least lit up unlike the so-called warehouse that he was in it still left him a bit on edge and who would not be left on edge with such things. Though Jack would go back in he decided one it was his job, and he needed the money that is for sure but on top of that he enjoyed the thrill even if it was really fucking scary for the first time. But he would have to keep his guard up and if he could level up some more, he could increase his stat gain. Level up enough and he could find another job that was less dangerous if he so chose.
Finally reaching the armory he looked around a bit more while he was in there they had racks of weapons behind a locked bullet proof glass door, from assault weapons to full riot gear, he hadn’t noticed it at first but that for sure wouldn’t have made sense when he first had been hired on a mere 40 minutes ago seeing as he looked down at his watch as it was only just past 21:50 not even an hour into his 10 hour shift. Unlocking the door Jack grabbed another box of 9mm ammo as well as a few mags as well since well it was best to be prepared. Thinking back there was no way the Captain and the other ‘security’ here did not know about what was in that warehouse? Honestly, he had no idea but tomorrow when the Captain came back, he was going to ask the man straight out.
But first it was to ensure he was all set before locking up and heading back to the catwalk. Seeing the familiar door Jack pulled out his key card and scanned it. “Well, its now or never and I guess let’s go make sure everything is secure” just before he tapped the screen his phone buzzed pulling it out and looking down Jack could only curse at what he saw.
North side door sensor open.
Looking at the camera he could see two teenagers in black hoodies breaking the lock on the door and bust into the warehouse. From the camera feed Jacks horror grew as he realized it was the same area he had just fought those weeping angels…
