Unwelcomed Appearance

"...Machst du gerade Witze mit mir? (Are you kidding with me right now?)" Park Jeongeun asked in a chilling voice.

"Wenn du mir nicht die Wahrheit sagst, werde ich abdrücken. (If you don't tell me the truth, I'll pull the trigger.)" His eyes were devoid of even a single hint of compassion as he pointed his gun at the blonde man standing behind her. Every word that exited his mouth was nothing short of sincerity. He was prepared to end her if she did not stop her absurd rants.

"Tumna-! (You-!)" The assassin's words were cut short as Park Jeongeun shot his left leg instead.

"ARGHH!!!" He screamed as he grasped on the wound left behind by the bullet. Blood gushed out uncontrollably as he quivered from the agonising pain.

"Du hast versprochen, ihnen nicht weh zu tun! (You promised not to hurt them!)" The little girl shouted as she hurriedly wrapped the injury with a bandage she had hid underneath her coat.

"Er hat mich geärgert. (He was annoying me.)" He responded casually as he waved his weapon around in a playful manner.

"Haben Sie denn gar kein Mitgefühl!? (Don't you have any sympathy!?)"

"Nein, ganz und gar nicht. Hören Sie auf, ihn zu behandeln und erzählen Sie mir noch einmal, wie Sie sie kennengelernt haben. Es sei denn, du willst sie tot sehen. (No, not at all. Stop treating him now and tell me again about how you met them. Unless you want them dead.)" Jeongeun voiced as he pointed the gun towards the mage this time around.

"Ich hab's verstanden, ich hab's verstanden! Also bitte tut ihnen nicht wieder weh! (I got it, I got it! So please don't hurt them again!)" She begged.

"Gut, dann wiederholen Sie alles, was Sie mir gesagt haben. (Good, then repeat everything you told me.)"

"...In Ordnung (...All right.)" The girl reluctantly agreed.

"Ah, Moment mal. (Ah, wait a minute.)" He interrupted before she could open her mouth.

"Sungah, Kafil, Takashi, come over here." He gestured to his subordinates as they flocked over to him.

"Sungah, your task is simple. Translate as accurately as you can after the girl finishes her story." He ordered.

"...Yes."

Once Park Sungah had answered him—he allowed the girl to repeat her encounters with the cosplayers.

"So…basically, she met those guys during winter when they suddenly appeared out of thin air. And that they considered her harmless since she didn't have a single weapon on her body." Sungah summarised.

"And…she also received it. The objective to 'SURVIVE'." She added.

"...So it isn't something that only affected Seoul…" Takashi guessed.

"Correct." Jeongeun remarks before staring at the girl once more. "Können Sie mir sagen, woher Sie die Fähigkeit haben, mit ihnen zu sprechen?"

"J…ja Ich...meine Fähigkeit heißt 'Übersetzer'." She revealed.

"Ability…'Translator'?" Sungah pondered.

Everyone except for the little girl and Park Jeongeun had a befuddled expression etched onto their faces. Silence ensued before it was immediately shattered as Park Jeongeun spoke.

"It is as she has stated. Her so-called 'Translator' ability allows her to communicate with them despite the language barrier. Let me ask you three. Have you discovered your 'abilities' as well, or not?"

"Nope." Takashi answered.

"Not at all." Kafil added.

"No." Sungah continued.

"Well, now that that's confirmed, repeat the words I'll say. 'Status'."

"Status." They all said in an union yet nothing happened.

"Was something supposed to happen…?" Takashi questioned. He also tried saying the same words but in his native tongue yet everything remained unchanged.

"Well…supposedly, this girl claims that the screen would pop up and show us our 'ability'. Either she's lying, or there's something I'm missing…And before any of you call me dumb for not saying it in German, I have tried. Every language I know, but nothing worked to make the screen appear."

"...What if we said it with intent?" Sungah proposed.

"Intent? What do you mean, Sungah?" Kafil asked.

"Well, saying 'Status' can, well, refer to our current position. But it can also mean to show our current state. What if we said 'Status' with the intent of checking our condition? Maybe only then something will happen." She explained.

"I guess it's worth trying." Park Jeongeun remark.

"Status." They all said simultaneously and as they did—each of their respective 'status' showed up—exclusively for them to see.

"Whoa…WOOOAAAHH!!!" Takashi exclaimed loudly as he discovered his abilities.

"私には能力がある! 私はユニークだ! 私は特別だ! (I have an ability! I am unique! I am special!)" He shouted enthusiastically in his native tongue.

"Calm down, Takashi. You're starting to speak Japanese. But I get your reaction, because I too have a unique ability myself." Kafil uttered. While the rhythm of his tone did not change at all—he was grinning from ear to ear inwardly.

"My stats…look rather low…or are they high? What's the average to begin with?" She wondered.

Letting out a disheartening sigh—she gazed at eongeun to question him. But she was left perplexed as he stared into the air with a calculating expression—seemingly contemplating a decision.

"Tumna…Tumna gravido sol!" The mage unexpectedly cried out.

"...Was sagt sie? (...What is she saying?)" Park Jeongeun queried.

"...Sie verlangt, dass du die Rüstung zurückgibst, die du ihr gestohlen hast, und ihre. (...She demands that you return the armor you stole from her and her comrades.)"

"Und warum sollte ich? (And why should I?)"

"Tumnitch krill avdi! (Because it's coming!)" The mage interrupted.

Before Park Jeongeun could further interrogate her intentions—the ground quaked violently as if foreshadowing a grave threat.

As the shaking worsened—the building they once took shelter within crumbled to dust in the spur of the moment and that was the moment they all witnessed it.

"Ilt…ilt… (No…No…)" The mage murmured melancholically.

The otherworldly people all had a grief-stricken look dwelling on their faces. A great beast with a height that could rival most apartment complexes—possessing ivory skin, a pair of striking, electric blue eyes and four titanic legs that left destruction in its path. It bore an uncanny resemblance to that of Western dragons yet lacked wings.

"This is…really troublesome. Ha…Sungah, Kafil, Takashi. Give those bastards their armour and prepare yourselves. We are going to be hunting a dragon this week."
