Unnatural Disaster

Unnatural Disaster

'Ha…! Ha…! I'm late!' She had a distressed look on her face as she sprinted across the corridors—carrying important documents that were meant to be delivered on time.

However… due to oversleeping, she was not only going to be in a tight situation afterwards, but was also way past the due time of transporting the paperwork.

'Out of all the other days, of course it was today…!' She grumbled inwardly as she continued to run towards her destination.

People who were nearby gave her weird looks, but she paid no heed to their gazes, for she was in a very dire circumstance.

After what seemed to be an eternity of running—her face finally brightened up at the sight of two massive doors just a few meters away.

'Yes! Yes! YES!' She shouted gleefully in her mind.

She hastened her pace, swinging her tired legs as she got closer and nearer to the door. Her heart thumping rapidly—she could barely contain her excitement.

'Almost there…!'

Unbeknownst to her, the doors suddenly swung wide open and startled her in the process—causing her to stumble onto none other than the CEO of the company, Park Jeongeun.

"Sungah, be careful now, will you?" He spoke warmly as he caught her in his arms.

"Oh… s-sorry, sir." Park Sungah stuttered with a flustered expression. She felt so ashamed to have none other than her own boss seeing her clumsy and careless nature right in front of his own eyes, she wished to disappear right at this moment.

"Well, just be careful next time, alright?" He spoke light-heartedly, already accustomed to her clumsy behavior when under pressure.

As Park Sungah's embarrassment slowly fades away—she recalled the reason why she was in such a hurry in the first place. Quickly, she handed the files to Park Jeong.

"Forgive me, sir… it seems I was a tad bit late… b-but here are the files you requested."

"Don't worry." He took the files from her hand—still smiling as usual.

Park Jeongeun—a man of Korean heritage and someone who looked extremely youthful and energetic despite the hurdles that comes with being a CEO. He was dressed neatly yet unprofessionally, with his outfit consisting that of a long, dark blue jeans, a pristine white shirt covered by a crimson red leather jacket, and a pair of clean, black shoes.

He also possessed pale skin that seems to belong to a being of a superior species, a pair of crimson red eyes that feels a tad bit intimidating and pink hair that makes him stand out from the rest. He had a lean, yet slightly athletic build and stood at an impressive 188 centimeters tall. Overall, he looked healthy and full of vigour like always.

Park Jeongeun has peculiar habit of smiling. Whether it be when he's angry, sad, or happy. His smile is…one that seems to be forced...yet genuine at the same time. It's often hard to grasp what his true intentions are.

"Geez, Sungah. Still as clumsy as ever, aren't you?" A familiar, Japanese accent spoke teasingly from behind.

Hearing his voice, Park Sungah quickly turned around to see the owner of those words.

"Takashi…!" she muttered.

Takashi, or also known as Nakajima Takashi, is a Japanese man who works as one of the two bodyguards for Park Jeongeun.

He stood at 174 centimeters tall, and possessed a pair of sharp, dark eyes with brown hair. He was lean yet muscular at the same time, and always had an air of arrogance surrounding him.

"Always late for the important stuff. It's a mystery why sir hasn't fired you yet." He mocked.

Park Sungah felt immense rage surging through her veins, yet she kept a calm demeanor as she mocked him back.

"I supposed that is true. I had always been clumsy since birth. But at the very least, I did not lose millions of wons from a slot machine, nor did I get scammed upon entering a brothel."

"You motherfuck-!" Just before he could finish his words, a massive African man standing at a staggering 230 centimeters tall with an afro lifted him into the air and scolded him.

"Do not curse, Takashi. It is bad for you."

"Urgh! Let me go, Kafil!" Takashi shouted angrily.

Kafil Okafor, a descendant of an annihilated tribe in Africa. He was but a mere child when he unknowingly found himself in Japan, and befriended Takashi. Unlike Takashi's arrogant nature and hot-headed demeanor, he was humble and collected—always taking responsibility for his friend's mistakes.

"You know I can't do that. It is wrong for you to hurt women, Takashi. Until you have calmed down, I won't let you go." He said as he carried Takahashi like a baby being cradled by its mother, which only helped fuel his fury.

Nevertheless, his aggression immediately diminished as Jeongeun spoke sternly with a serious expression.

"Stop, Takashi."

"B-But sir-!"

"If you don't stop, I'll be increasing your workload instead. Do you hear me?"

"...Yes." He responded begrudgingly.

"Good. Now that's over with, let's not waste anymore time, and do our work as usual."

His employees nodded as they began doing the jobs they have been assigned as usual. Having been working for the company for a little over five years, everything was as usual until a peculiar blue, holographic screen suddenly popped out of the blue.

"Uh…sir…Kafil, Sungah…Am I the only one seeing that?" Takashi asked, pointing upwards where a blue holographic screen was situated exactly in the center of the room.

"Not at all… what exactly is that?" Kafil questioned as he tried touching it—only to be left disappointed as his arm simply phased through it.

"Intangible…?" Sungah pondered.

As they whispered amongst themselves—the text on the screen suddenly changed.

Abruptly, the screen disappeared into thin air but at the same time Jeongeun began coughing up blood out of nowhere.

"What in the…" He murmured, staring at his hand that were covered in blood due to blocking his mouth.

Everyone instantly rushed towards him to examine him. But before they could do so, multiple emergency alarms went off as screams could be heard outside the doors—echoing throughout every inch of the building.

Sungah wanted to believe it was just a prank but the blood seeping into the room from beneath the door told her otherwise. Her breath fastened, her eyes dilated as sweat trickled down her neck.

"Haha…this…has to be some sort of a prank…right?" She mumbled, unable to process the very things she had witnessed.

Unexpectedly, the holographic screen reemerged but this time it was in front of everyone's faces.
