Chapter 28:Attack, then attack again

Chapter 28:Attack, then attack again

If I hadn't learned how to transform into a werewolf before, relying solely on the poisonous flower vine, I would have thought twice and might even choose to detour in the end. But now it's different. With an 8th level werewolf transformation, I am confident enough to easily kill six sinking demon grids. As for that elite-level sinking demon mage, I plan to leave it to the fierce poison flower vine.

I looked at my mana value which was already full at 24 points. When I first entered the cave just a few hours ago, I used one werewolf transformation which consumed 15 points of mana. But now even if it takes ten minutes per point of recovery speed, it is enough to replenish my poor mana value.

I carefully simulated the entire battle process once again because this is my first time challenging an elite boss. Although victory is almost certain, I still intend to be fully prepared.

"Attack." I gave instructions to the poisonous flower vine and let it charge directly towards the elite sinking demon mage.

"Roar."

At the same time, I also let out a low growl as my body underwent drastic changes - continuously being pulled up while rapidly growing white fur all over me until finally transforming into a wolf head with protruding mouth and nose. The wooden stick in my hand instantly turned into warm energy flowing into my arms as sharp claws emerged from furry fingers making them seem more powerful than ever before.

"Woo-"

I tried hard not make any sound after transforming but couldn't help letting out a slight noise from deep within me although thankfully not loud enough for anyone on their side notice yet.

Only forty seconds had passed but that was enough...

During transformation process itself, we never stopped moving forward so by completion of transformation both myself and poisonous flower vine were already sprinting side by side towards our enemies.

The silent movement of fierce poison flower vine combined with thick pads on my feet after transformation allowed us to get close to the group of sinking demons without being noticed until we were almost 5 meters away.

The elite-level sinking demon mage let out a scream while six sinking demons immediately wielded their sharp blades and charged towards me. The sinking demon mage was chanting something in its mouth, obviously preparing for its signature fireball spell.

But I had no choice now as there were still more than 5 meters between us with six sinking demons ahead and no long-range profession interrupting them - this attack was inevitable.

With a "whoosh," the ghost-headed staff in the hands of the Sinking Demon Mage swung, sending a basketball-sized red fireball with raging flames straight at me.

"Bang." I just reacted in time by instinctively extending my arm to block it but still got hit by the fireball anyway.

Don't think that the speed of fireballs is as slow as it is in games. Among players of similar levels, only assassins with high agility can occasionally dodge them. As for someone like me who has never added any points into agility as a druid, getting hit is inevitable and there's simply no suspense about it - being able to dodge would be nothing short of miraculous.

"Hoo..."

I felt a burning sensation in my outstretched arm, as if scalded by boiling water. The fiery feeling spread to the tips of my nerves.

I waved my hand expressionlessly, not revealing any weakness despite the pain. Pain? I was used to it.

However, I was surprised at the power of this fireball spell from an elite sinking demon mage. With just one fireball, he had already taken away more than ten percent of my health points.

After one second, I engaged with six sinking demon soldiers while the poisonous flower vine bypassed my battlefield and headed straight for the sinking demon mage.

Fortunately, it understood what I meant and went after the sinking demon mage instead of causing any trouble for me. If it had made a mistake...this battle that seemed certain would have become troublesome.

The cooldown time for the elite sinking demon mage's fireball spell had not yet passed when he saw the venomous flower vine charging towards him. He did not panic but quickly drew a short blade from his waist and charged towards me slowly compared to other demons due to his small stature and late start. However, before taking a few steps forward, he was entangled by the venomous flower vine.

If you stumble upon this tale on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

Seeing that he was within range of attack now, without hesitation or mercy, the venomous flower vine emerged from underground with its cold-blooded mouth full of sharp teeth biting down on him like lightning speed then immediately retreated back into ground leaving only colorful flowers all over its body behind. The confused sinking demon mage stood there motionless because of being caught off guard by this sudden attack .

Fortunately, the experienced sinking demon mage regained consciousness in no time after being shocked by surprise attack. He immediately stabbed downwards with his left hand holding onto his knife, his target now became Venomous Flower Vine which attacked him earlier.

On my side,it wasn't so much fighting as torturing them.I couldn't believe how effective my first transformation into a werewolf was. The agility and speed added by the transformation made me faster, even allowing me to dodge the sinking demon's fast blade attacks occasionally.

As for my attack power, it goes without saying that after transforming, I stood at least two meters tall compared to the small stature of sinking demons. It was like watching a story of White Wolf Prince and Seven Dwarfs (including the sinking demon mage fighting with Venomous Flower Vine next to him...) from a high angle. With an increase in strength of 17%, whether I clenched both hands and smashed down or relied on sharp claws, I could cause huge damage to enemies. With an increased attack speed of 24%, when swinging both claws, the air flow around them would be affected as well causing visible wind pressure which left blood marks on enemies.

"Roar!"I leaped up with both claws tightly gripped above my head then fell towards the sinking demon's head with great force.

With a "bang",the sinking demon was hit hard by me.I think if there were no rules limiting us,his entire head would have been knocked into his neck. However, this blow almost caused dizziness effect on him.Looking at him staggering,I quickly dodged behind another sinking demon who attacked me from behind. My claws swung back and forth without stopping hitting this one too.

Attack again! After only six hits,I had already killed this still wobbling Sinking Demon. This used to take at least eight times before.I felt happy because now my output damage is not inferior to Doug or Gefu anymore.Of course, what I meant was output damage rather than attack damage. After all,I am just a level three Druid while they are level eleven Barbarians.Even though I have skills such as Level Eight Werewolf Transformation, the damage is far less than theirs.I've seen their battles. They can kill one Sinking Demon in just three hits.

However, their attack speed is slower than mine. For example, in the time they attack four times,I can already attack six times. One of the characteristics of Barbarians is that their hit rate is extremely low. There will often be one miss out of four attacks which means they only attacked three times. So it takes them almost as long to kill a sinking demon as me.

After a while,I killed two more sinking demons and suddenly,a white light flashed on the ground.I saw the first Sinking Demon I had knocked down with its brain juice flowing out stand up again, waving his blade towards me full of life. This was my first time seeing a resurrection spell from a sinking demon mage.

But I didn't have time to feel surprised. When I saw him standing up again, anger rose within me.How dare this damn sinking demon mage! He couldn't even protect himself yet he still had free time to resurrect these small sinking demons.

I took a break to look at the battlefield on the other side. Sure enough, the sinking mage who had just barely cast resurrection magic was now being entangled by poisonous vines and screaming in pain while wildly swinging his short sword and occasionally throwing fireballs.

Looking at both sides' health bars, I was surprised. This elite-level sinking mage was indeed not easy to deal with. Judging from its appearance, its abilities were likely focused on defense, which made it vulnerable to poison attacks like those of the infamous poisonous vines. However, looking at the current situation, even the poisonous vines had already lost one-third of their health.

But they were even more pitiful now as they only had one-third of their health left. It was clear who was stronger and weaker.

In fact, the best way to deal with these sinking mages would be for me and the poisonous vines to team up and take them down first before dealing with these small fry monsters. But after transforming into a werewolf form, I felt confident enough to try out the power of these poisonous vines myself so I let them fight against this elite-level sinking mage alone. Now that my goal has been achieved, I naturally didn't have any interest in continuing my exploration here anymore.

Seeing that my time limit for staying in werewolf form is almost up soon too; without further ado or delay; leaving behind several attacking enemies surrounding me; I quickly rolled over on the ground then rushed towards this sinking mage.

It seems like rolling around has become one of my signature moves! How many times have I done it already?

Under our fierce attack from both me and Poisonous Vines together; after letting out an unwilling howl; finally this Sinking Mage slowly fell down onto his backside - when he hit rock bottom - several items bounced off him as well! Looks like we've struck gold! My heart filled with joy knowing that elites are indeed different and generous when it comes to loot. It seems like I can finally say goodbye to the era of running around naked.

At this moment, my time limit for staying in werewolf form has just ended too; a flash of light shone and I returned back to my original self again. The wooden stick that had previously merged into my body also reappeared in my hands.

Phew, luckily it was an instant recovery. Unlike transforming which is a slow process where bones slowly stretch out causing itching pain that makes me shudder every time I think about it.

The remaining four (originally three but one was resurrected by the mage) sinking mages were no longer a threat at all. I didn't even bother looking at them anymore and silently gave Poisonous Vines an order to deal with these small fries instead.

I couldn't wait any longer as I crouched down immediately without hesitation - not even feeling disgusted by the sinking mage's corroded limbs - and started searching under his corpse with my hands since equipment always has infinite attraction power!

As soon as my hand touched something underneath the corpse, disappointment filled me up instantly - A potion?
