Akara stood up and poured me another cup of the same drink.
"Here, don't be shy. If you like it, have some more. I don't have anything else to offer you," she said.
I thanked her and drank the delicious beverage.
"By the way, Akara, I heard that this is the only shop selling magic items. What kind of things can I buy here?" I asked.
"Haha, are you in a hurry to go on an adventure?" Akara smiled with narrowed eyes.
"I mainly sell small amounts of life potions and magic potions, as well as some detoxification agents and melting agents," she paused before continuing,
"But young man, if your level is not high enough yet, it's best not to rush into buying them. Go train in Blood Moor first where monsters are weaker. Be careful though because using too many auxiliary items will hinder your ability to improve."
Seeing how hard Akara was trying to persuade me against buying anything from her store made me wonder if she was a spy for other magic item shops instead of being genuine about her advice - but having played Diablo before and knowing there was only one magic item shop in town confirmed otherwise.
"Of course we also have two very important items that even new players can use." Akara changed topics and slowly got up from her seat walking over to a shelf where she took out two books; one blue and one red.
"You've probably heard of these two things before." She handed me both books which although I had guessed what they were already still examined closely anyway:
Identification Book: 3/20
Teleportation Book (referred to as Portal): 3/20
"The identification scroll inside the Identification book is used when you obtain blue or higher quality equipment so that you can identify their attributes while Teleportation scrolls are even more important since they're lifesavers when surrounded by monsters or lost. However, be aware that using a Teleportation scroll requires 30 seconds of preparation time and cannot be interrupted during that time."
Akara explained these key points to me one by one which made me break out in cold sweat - I thought I knew everything from playing games before but thankfully Akara's explanation saved me from being clueless.
"This Teleportation spell is the only space magic left for us by our ancestors. The Mage Guild relies on this unique magic to continue their exploration..." Akara sighed.
"However, young man, if your level is not high enough, it's best not to rush into buying things. Go and train in the Blood Wilderness first. The monsters there are average in strength and you don't need these auxiliary items if you're careful. Also, I suggest that you use these items as little as possible so that you can better hone your abilities."
Seeing Akara desperately trying to persuade me like this, if I hadn't played Diablo before and had only come here from Lar with just one magic item shop around here, I would have suspected that Akara was a spy for other magic item shops who came here to discourage me from buying things.
"Of course, we also have two important things here that even new job changers can use." Akara changed the topic and slowly stood up, walking over to a shelf and taking out two books - one blue and one red - from inside.
"I believe you've heard of these two things." She handed me the two books. Although I already guessed what they were about, I couldn't help but look carefully at them.
The Identification Book: 3/20
The Teleportation Gate (hereafter referred to as Portal) Book: 3/20
"The identification scroll in the Identification Book is used when you get blue or higher equipment to identify their attributes. The Portal Scroll is even more important because it can be a lifesaver when surrounded by monsters or lost. However, note that using the portal requires 30 seconds of preparation time during which it cannot be interrupted."
Akara told me all these key points one by one which scared me so much - influenced by previous games; I thought I knew everything but thankfully with Akara's explanation otherwise I wouldn't know what was going on.
"This Teleportation Gate spellbook is our ancestors' only remaining space magic spellbook left for us. Those old men in the Mage Guild are still exploring with this only magic spell." Akara sighed.
As I listened quietly to Akara's teachings, I silently memorized all this knowledge. Akara was indeed a wise and knowledgeable leader. Her experience was far beyond that of Lar's half-baked paladin. She explained many details including how to combine magic spells, casting time, cooldowns, how to escape from unbeatable enemies safely and gain time for using portals, outdoor terrain identification directions, finding suitable places to set up tents outdoors and identifying monster abilities one by one in detail. Listening intently made me feel like I wanted to engrave all these things into my heart.

After several hours of talking non-stop, Akara finally stopped and picked up her cup before taking a sip of Clear Mind Water.
"Ah! The water is cold already. I didn't realize we've been talking for so long. It won't taste good if it gets too cold. Wait here young man; let me go heat it up." As if she had just realized how much time had passed, Akara smiled apologetically.
"I'm really sorry about making you listen to an old woman like me rambling on like that all the time."
"No way! I really benefited a lot," I quickly stood up and expressed my gratitude towards Akara's generosity which made me truly admire her even more because despite seeing me as a new job changer on the street earlier on she took the initiative to call me over here specifically just now giving some advice without any intention of taking credit or expecting anything in return - teaching became nagging in her mouth instead!
Perhaps it was precisely because of her meticulousness and tireless guidance that most job changers could obtain higher survival rates during their novice period hence almost all job changers respected her greatly - she was simply legendary as an ultimate enhanced version of a new mentor.
I respectfully bowed 90 degrees to Akara and said, "I am truly grateful for your guidance. If I can survive on the battlefield in the future, it must be thanks to you."
"Okay okay," Akara kindly waved her hand at me.
"I cannot accept such a grand gesture. I just saw that you seemed relatively relaxed on the street, and as an old woman who was feeling lonely, I just wanted someone to talk to. It's just mutual benefit. You don't have to make me sound so great. My old bones can't handle too much praise," she said.
As she spoke, I handed her a cup of hot refreshing water. Strangely enough, this refreshing water only tasted cool when it was hot; once it cooled down, it became tasteless.
"Oh right, Lord Akara, here are these books for you." I handed over two books in my hands.
"What? What is this?" Akara blinked her white eyes at me with feigned surprise and made me feel a hint of conspiracy.
"Don't you know my rule?"
"What rule?" I was confused; why didn't the game give us a sign or something? Blizzard wasn't thoughtful enough!
"When things leave my possession they are non-refundable."
"But...but I haven’t bought anything yet!"
"That doesn’t matter! Do you want to ruin my reputation after all these years?" Akara exclaimed angrily while hitting her cane hard against the ground.
"Uh...I'll take them then." She really lived up to being a nun - what eloquence and acting skills! Well then, let's repay this respectable elder in the future.
"By the way, Lord Akara, can you tell me some details about the mainland? Well, my master and I used to live in a remote village. However, he left early when I changed jobs, so..."
Facing Akara's clear eyes that seemed to see through people's hearts, I murmured. It was a strange feeling. Although her eyes were blind, they had more deterrent power as if they could see through all lies. Was this the power of the Great Eye?
I didn't know if Akara noticed that I was lying; it was highly possible she did. But even so, I had to continue with this lie because being a time traveler was my biggest secret and must not be told to anyone.
Therefore, even though Akara might have already sensed it, I continued with endless lies helplessly. Deceiving this old person who just sold me valuable experience made me feel sincerely sorry inside; hoping she would understand my predicament.
Akara listened quietly to my flawed explanation until I finished before speaking gently with an inclusive tone.
"I see... is that so? Then your teacher is really irresponsible."
Seeing how indifferent Akara was towards it made me feel even more ashamed as if there wasn't any difference between myself and those scammers who deceived grandpas and grandmas for their money.
Akara didn't notice my remorseful feelings at this moment but seemed like she had been led into another dimension by my question instead. She opened the canvas door of the tent and stood still outside while her blind eyes emitted faint pressure which could be felt even from behind her.
"Where should we start then? To explain clearly requires going back many thousands of years ago during what we call 'The War of The End,' do you know about it?"
I nodded immediately since Big Mouth Doge wouldn't let go without repeating n times on our journey about this war which left countless myths behind.
"The War of The End refers to a battle tens of thousands of years ago between the two factions that ruled everything in heaven. Due to different ideologies, these two factions fought each other fiercely. The losing side gave up their glory as divine servants and fell into hell, abandoning their noble angelic status and calling themselves demons instead. They recruited soldiers in hell and launched fierce attacks on heaven, intending to take revenge for past grievances. This war between heaven and hell, angels and demons was called 'The War of The End.'
After the War of The End, God who ruled over the entire world seemed bored with it since both sides were his people; he didn't know which one to help anymore. Finally, God drew a light line dividing heaven from hell; thus ending this war.
At this moment when God separated them out came a new space that produced a new world - the Dark Continent."
Akara sighed before continuing.
"God has lost interest in angels and demons because they only fight against each other for power struggles."
Hearing this made me gasp since I realized what Akara told me wasn't widely spread versions within the Dark Continent about angels being gods held high by people's hearts or how they planned three demon god seals causing chaos throughout the continent previously nor guiding countless job changers fighting against demonic forces now. If Akara's words just now got out there even though she was Rogge Camp's leader, she would still be questioned by many.
I knew things weren't so simple here; there must be many hidden secrets behind it all. I believed what Akara said was correct after all since I had no good impression towards those self-proclaimed righteous beings like angels or gods at all due to my identity as a time traveler. If Akara mentioned something like Great Luo Golden Immortal or Primordial Heavenly Venerable earlier on then maybe I would have doubted her but regarding those so-called divine beings? I was too lazy to even bother doubting them. My first thought was that these guys who claimed themselves as divine beings were the biggest tumors in this world.
