Chapter 9: Incident..

He went inside and saw a woman snuggling up to a bare-chested man with a bionic arm, dark skin, and braided green hair.

"You it?"

Axis sat comfortably on the lounge couch before he answered, "I'm it, where's my stuff?"

The man eyed him suspiciously, and Axis took his gaze calmly and with a bored expression. He wanted to finish this soon so he could have a bit of warmth.

"Well, are you going to give it to me? Are you just going to start with me like you want me? Sorry pal, I don't swing that way. And..."

Axis scanned him, smirked, and then said, "You don't look like much."

The man wasn't bothered by this and questioned, "Why do you want it?"

"None of your business, and I already paid for it, so give it already." Ax insisted, of course, he wasn't the one who paid it, but the client.

It seems his words worked, as the guy took something out of his belt and threw it to him.

Ax caught it; it was a small chip. He didn't know what was inside it nor that he planned to know. However, the client wanted him to act like he knew...

"You know what's inside it, yes?"

"Yes, and it doesn't concern you anymore," Axis said the last sentence as he stood up to leave.

'That was easier than I thought. Now onto some personal business.'

Before he could smile, though, he sensed something abnormal as he hurriedly grabbed the cyberpuncher in his jacket.

The curtain was lifted, and a large man appeared. His eyes glowed blue, and he shot something at him.

Ax hurriedly dodged as he took a side step and lunged at the man. He swung his fist, wearing the cyberpuncher.

"Fucker!"

But he didn't get the chance as the woman, who was just snuggling next to the man, tackled him.

He stumbled and fell to the side of the couch.

"Hold him..."

The green-haired man said as the two men tried to hold him down.

The green-haired man placed his bionic arm on his leg, then...

Rzzzrkkk!

It discharged electricity, stunning him!

'All these for 40 credits!' He screamed in his mind, trying to resist the charge.

He desperately grabbed something from his belt as he saw the large man pointing the stun gun at him.

"Night night..." His last words before he pulled the trigger

'Fuck you' is what Ax said with his eyes as he threw the thing he managed to grab.

Then... everything went dark.

----------------------------------------

"Wuah!"

Axis gasped when he came too. He immediately observed his surroundings and found himself in a black room sitting on a desk and a guy across him.

Seeing his appearance, Ax knew his plan worked; now he only needed to get out of this situation.

"Sir I-"

The man, with slick silver hair and the same suit as the security he saw at the entrance, put his hand on his chin and said,

"I ask, you answer. Now nod."

Ax nodded and did as he was told.

"What was your purpose in entering this place?"

"To get something I bought and especially to treat myself"

The man nodded and continued to ask.

"Who were those guys?"

"What did you buy?"

"Who attacked first?"

He asked a series of questions, and Ax was honest, he even said he couldn't tell him what was in the chip as it was his privacy..

Seeing as the man stopped asking questions and was only looking at him, he thought it was his chance.

"Sir, Im sorry for the trouble. I only threw the sound bomb because I needed help; I really just wanted to get out there and get lost in the pleasures. Then they suddenly attack me in the booth! Which is... quite idiotic really. Attacking someone here?" The last part he said with a baffled expression truly questioning why they attacked him inside the establishment. I guess they thought they were confident in dealing with him.

What Ax threw at the end was a simple sound bomb that let out a large explosion-like sound to notify people. And it isn't a coincidence that he kept saying he wanted to buy a service from the establishment.

He wanted to paint himself as a customer who just got into a bit of trouble. Despite how the city operates under the law of the jungle, most establishments protect their customers.

Then the man processed what he said. Axis could almost hear the gear on his head turning.

"Alright. What you say is true. You're not the offender, but a victim."

Axis sighs in relief hearing that; he even wanted to complain about how the security of the business is lacking to get some free service, but he held himself back.

"So can I now go?"

"Of course." The man stood up, and Axis did the same.

"By the way, what happened to the three?" Ax asked as they stepped out the door.

"They had already been arrested and were waiting for punishment."

Ax got chills hearing that; he knew that since the laws were a little loose, big corporations and established institutions could hand out justice themselves and punish the offender however they liked.

He definitely didn't want to get on their bad side until he had enough money and power.

"This way, sir, I hope what you experienced won't damage your view of Angel's Euphoria."

Now he's talking politely.

"Depends. I'll give the judgment after." Axis smirked, pretending to be calm.

"We won't disappoint you."

The man nodded, and he was led back to the alluring receptionist.
