''I'm... dying??" Was his last thought before darkness devoured him.
Everything was simply a blank space. He couldn't process anything—just the void of blackness.
He had already forgotten who he was and how much time had passed. He stared at the void in front of him, dazed.
Then, a small light suddenly flashed. Followed by another, then another...
For the first time, a light appeared in the empty void, and then... the light engulfed 'him.
----------------------------------------
"Shit, come on, wake up!"
Bang, bang, bang!
"Just inject him already!"
"I already did—OH! Hes awake!"
"Thank the fucking god!"
When the light subsided, the darkness was replaced by a blurry surrounding as well as moving and bumpy ground.
Everything got vivid, and he finally found out what kind of place he was in: he was inside of a vehicle.
“Ugh.."
"Hmp!"
"Hey!"
All three of them suddenly yelped.
It seems the vehicle drove over something, and all the people in the car jolted.
He was still confused by what was happening.
"Hey, you're awake! Hurry, take your gun, and blast these motherfuckers!" A young man, with red hair tied to a ponytail, with some sort of glowing cyber implant eyes, quite lean, and with a tattoo on his neck, said...
It seems he was wounded in the stomach and was stopping its bleeding.
He instinctively took what was handed to him; it was a short MP5-like gun, except... more futuristic... 'Wait... how do I know a gun similar to it?
Just as he was about to say something,
TuTUTUTU!
Bullets hit the back window as pieces of glass flew about, and he and the man who gave him the gun instinctively ducked down.
"Hurry! Give me some time, I think I could fix up a bolt grenade!" He shouted as he went to get something from a bag and worked on something.
Everything was as confusing as it gets, but somehow he knew what to do. After the barrage of bullets ceased, he immediately propped himself out of the vehicle's window, sticking half of his upper body out and pointing at the one chasing and shooting them.
It was happening so fast, he couldn't tell where they were; the only thing that registered in his eyes was the black and jagged vehicle about 10-15 meters behind them.
A person was about to prop himself in the window of the vehicle like himself, but not before he pulled the trigger.
Tud tud tud tud tud!
Bullets shot out of the gun and the air shattered as the sound of the bullet shooting through the barrel came out, but somehow it was different than what he was familiar with. Still, that didn't prevent him from shooting at the vehicle.
Tud tud tud tud tud!
When he managed to push back the shooter, he tried to shoot the driver.
Tud tud tud tud!
The vehicle's bumpy run didn't help with his aim, but he still managed to get some shots at the drivers direction, but...
He paused, his finger hanging in front of the trigger. He saw the bullets bounce off the windshield, creating only a small crack.
He couldn't help but mutter out loud in complaint... "I'm gonna fucking need something bigger than this."
The red-haired, ponytailed man answered... "No shit... Christ, can't you drive better, Raze?"
The driver, having a stature bigger than the two of them, responded, " I AM driving better! Im driving as best as I can, and it's saving your ass, so shut up!"
He didn't pull the trigger anymore, and he just prepared for anyone coming out; he was doubtful about how many bullets he had left. But as if answering him, from the corner of his eyes, numbers appeared.
31/50
He instinctively realized it was his reaming ammo... 'That's a lot of rounds for a small gun.' He thought.
"Hang on, we're turning hard right!"
"Shit!"
He hurriedly went back to the vehicle as he prepared for the turn. Just as he got his upper body back inside the vehicle, he plunged forward in momentum as the vehicle turned hard right, hitting his face by the door.

"Fuck!" The red-haired man complained as he held on.
Eventually, the vehicle was back running in a straight line, and he couldn't help but complain. "Too fucking hard, Raze!" He said as his nose started to bleed.
"Haha, I did say it was hard! Did you see that, Troy? Hahaha" Raze, with a large build and short brown mohawk, laughed as he saw what happened to him.
Tud tud tud tud!
The enemy once again started shooting; the bulletproof windshield won't be able to take anymore hits at this point.
"Don't we have anything we can throw at them?"
Troy was about to answer, but Raze beat him to it. "How about you threw yourself at them? You certainly seem good about it! Hahahaha"
Raze cackled, still laughing about what had happened to him. He couldn't help but roll his eyes, and he turned to Troy, where he saw his wide smile...
"Done!"
Then he threw a small ball at him. "Throw it underneath their vehicles; the charge isn't enough to blow them up, but it should be enough to slow them down."
"It's all on you, Ax." Troy added with a bitter smile.
Ax.... Somehow he just knew that was his name...
He didn't hesitate after getting the bolt grenade. "I'll try to get you cover fire!" Troy said with gritted teeth as he moved and grabbed a pistol-like gun.
They waited for the gunshots to subside before...
"Let's go," Ax said with determination as they both propped themselves out the window of the vehicle.
Tud, tud, tud!
Troy pulled the trigger a couple of times, making the enemies hide in their vehicle.
"Steady...." Ax muttered under his breath, their vehicle seemed to have run over some small bump on the road as it rattled. Light flashed in his eyes; it was his chance.
Just as the enemy vehicle was about to run over the same bump, Ax decisively threw the grenade under them.
It takes only less than two seconds for the grenade to detonate, so...
Brrrkkkhhh!
A small burst of electricity exploded on the rear of their vehicle as they wobbled and slowed down.
"Yeah!!" Ax couldn't help but celebrate in triumph.
"Nice throw!" Troy celebrated with him...
They saw the distance between them widening...
"Whats going on?! Did we lose them?!"
Raze shouted while driving; the windshield was broken, so was the side mirrors, so he didn't know what was going on behind.
"We lost them, hopefully for good."
Troy propped himself back on the vehicle and slumped down in exhaustion; Ax did the same.
"Holy fuck! Wasn't that awesome?! Our first car chase?"
Raze said the former in a low voice before erupting in enthusiasm.
"Hell yeah! This is the life, baby! That's how you do it!"
"Haha, cough, cough..."
"You alright?" Ax asked Troy, who coughed. "I'll be fine; no organs hit; I think, worst-case scenario, I could just replace them."
"Get used to saying that, and soon you'll be replacing your dick."
"Hahahah"
Ax laughed along with them, the confusion slowly disappearing as memories filled his head.
Axis Smith was his name, or more precisely, this body's name. Although he had only vague memories of it, he was sure he wasn't from this world.
Holographic words started appearing in front of him. No, it should be coming from his left eye implant. It should have been on the entire time, but when he woke up, it wasn't. Then something was different about it: new tabs appeared on the top corner of his eyes.
{Character}{Build}{Inventory}
It wasn't supposed to be there; at least from 'his' memories, there was no such thing. He willed to go to the Character tab.
Axis Smith: Physical Stat: 1.8 Technical Skills: 1.9 Perception: 1.2 Personal ability: Bullet time: You can go into bullet time once a day for 3 seconds. Unique Skill: Duplication: Able to duplicate an item of a certain size once a day. (Duplicated items cannot be further duplicated.)
"What?.." What he saw baffled him so much that he couldn't help but mutter...
"Whats wr-"
Tud tud! But Troy didn't get to finish as bullets hit the windshield!
"Jesus!" Raze exclaimed at the sudden shot...
"I thought you said they were gone?!"
Ax and Troy both looked to the rear; there, at some distance, they saw the enemy vehicle trying to catch up to them.
"So fucking persistent... " Ax cursed.
"Shit... Lose them Raze! We've still got a bit of distance from them!"
"I've been working on it since forever! How about handling them, huh?" Raze lost his enthusiasm and was back to focusing on driving.
"What the hell kind of cargo are we carrying?! Didn't they say the danger would only be moderate?" Troy complained as he searched for something useful in his bag.
Ax then checked how many bullets the Misery, the gun that looked like an MP5, still had: 27/50
Plenty, but useless... 'What now...'
This was supposed to be an easy job... well, a moderately easy job... all they had to do was grab the packaged goods and deliver them to a designated location. That's it. And they could earn at least 100 credits each.
Yet in the middle of the delivery, they were suddenly attacked by these guys. Their weapons are clearly unmatched against the enemy. All they could do was drive as fast as they could.
He looked for something useful in his newly added tabs, but he saw something in front of him.
It was currently afternoon, about past 6. The day was about to get over, and the night was about to arrive... Still, with his left eye, he could still see his surroundings despite the light dimming.
He didn't know where the hell they were now, but it looked like they were in the middle of an abandoned plantation.
Just up front, he saw some building materials just hanging and heldby an abandoned and rusted crane. A thought came to him, and he immediately moved...
"Save your ammo, Ax; we won't be able to easily penetrate their armor, much less from this distance."
Troy said when he saw Ax prop himself out of the window again.
They were about to pass the target... Ax took a deep breath as he readied himself.
Bullets from the enemy flew through the air; luckily, they were terrible shots from this distance.
They immediately passed through his target, and Ax prepared himself as he willed something. When he thought the timing was right...
Suddenly, everything slowed down, even his movements, but not his mind; he could now observe things more clearly... With bated breath, he put his finger on the trigger as he remembered his training.
Then he pointed at the object holding the building materials together, then pulled the trigger, and tiny bullets shot out of the muzzle in slow motion.
To make sure it got destroyed, he didn't hold back and adjusted his aim every second.
When two seconds passed, he saw some sparks erupting from the object, but it wasn't enough; however, there were still bullets coming at it.
Ax couldn't help but grit his teeth and pray it'll work.
Then.. "Huah!" -
Everything returned to normal. He could feel the bumpy ride again.
Eiihnnnn...
And the sound of something heavy falling...
"Watch out!"
"Huahg!"
He could hear screaming from the distance as the huge amount of building materials fell on them...
BoG!
The vehicle crashed and was flipped over a couple of times!
Finally!
Seeing what happened, he finally had the time to feel the wind on his face. Adrenaline slowly wore off as he felt mentally exhausted. Propping himself back in the seat, he said, "It's done."
But he only saw Troy's surprised expression and gawking mouth...
"What?"
Then Troy snapped out of his daze, smiled widely, before erupting...
"HELL YEAH! Cough, cough!"
