Axis cursed as he hurriedly covered himself behind some trash compactors.
"Yeah, hide little bitch!" Shouted from the other side.
Tudtudtudtud!
Bullets rained down in his direction.
Axis readied his gun as he tried to think of something.
"All you need to do is beat him up huh?"
Axis complained in a small voice. A simple job of beating up someone turned into a shootout... There were two things he forgot to take note of when he walked up to his target confidently:
One: is that this Neodurn city where most people are armed.
And two: These guys were cooked up to the skull with neuro-ecstasy.
He didn't expect the entire group to be having an orgy on it.
The moment he started beating his target and his gang, they immediately grabbed their guns and started shooting at him, unafraid of making a commotion in the open.
Tudtudtud!
"Stop hiding!"
Axis readied himself to move. "Idiots are gonna attract the NOPs at this point"
Then it'll be out of his hands. He needed to finish the battle quickly.
He pointed his gun at the screws holding the door of the trash compactor and pulled the trigger.
Tudtudtud!
Sparks flew, and soon he managed to get himself a shield. "This should do..."
Trusting his instinct, he stopped shooting to reload, the second he felt they stopped shooting. He stepped forward from the place he was hiding, pointed his gun at the enemy that was about to shoot, and pulled the trigger.
Tudtudtud!
Bullets shut out the muzzle and hit the shoulders of the delinquent."
"You shit!"
"Shoot him!"
Tudtudtud!"
Bullets hit the shield he was holding as sparks flew. He immediately lunged toward one of the trash compactors. Using it as a foothold, he jumped high in the air as he maneuvered his shield to protect himself as he pointed his gun at one of the farthest enemies hiding.

"Argh!"
"Oh, you guys are dead." Finally getting rid of the farthest enemy, Axis didn't even consider if he was alive or not. They tried to shoot him, and he shot them back, even though he was the one that started it all.
He fell to the ground and rolled to mitigate the impact, but he rolled near one of the enemies, so when he stood up and got his bearings, the guy couldn't react fast enough, and Axis bashed his bullet-ridden shield at him.
Before the guy stumbled back, he immediately grabbed him, threw the sheild he was holding, and then...
"Go ahead, shoot!"
Used him as a shield.
The final enemy, Rendon Leyt, despite being high, didn't shoot and hesitated.
Axis used this as a chance, pointed his gun at him, and pulled the trigger.
Tudtud!
"Arrgh!"
Rendon fell down as Axis targeted his thigh. He choked the person he was using as a shield until...
"Hmmm....haa"
He passed out. Axis pushed him to the side and walked forward to Rendon.
Axis made sure to avoid killing him; he didn't want to get things that far.
"You should have stayed still and waited to get beaten up."
Even though he was shot in the leg, Axis still needed proof that he beat up this guy, so he laid on top of him, grabbed his collar, and started punching.
Pog!
Puch!
Pog!
Axis stopped swinging his now bloodied hand and then thought of something.
"Send this to David. A warning"
"Ugh, I don't, know… any… David," Rendon muttered through his bloodied teeth.
In case he planned to take revenge, Axis thought of directing the situation.
"Quite loyal, I see."
Axis said calmly, and he finally stood up. "Still, I know he’ll get the message." After he said that, he heard some buzzing.
He turned around as if he didn't want to leave the place in an instant, NOP drones were on it’s way.
"Hmn? And I'll take these." Axis said as he grabbed the object at his feet. It was a silver pistol. He could probably sell it for 50 or so credits.
Especially since he probably won't get extra compensation from the client. He wanted to get all the guns, but he didn't want to stay another second at this place.

"Here"
Axis grabbed the recording chip that was previously plugged into his personal smartlink, and gave it to the three girls.
"There was a little hiccup; guns were drawn, but nothing I couldn’t handle."
The leading girl who first spoke to him about the job was the first to pick up the chip and plug it into her SmartLink.
"I'll have Kizzy."
Axis said to Harold as he was waiting for the job's completion.
At the same time, he thought, "What will I duplicate this night?'
The first criteria he thought of was something valuable. Something that could earn him money.
Then he thought of what had happened to him today. How dangerous the city was—he needed something more.
He opened his build tab and saw the abilities he could upgrade himself to.
To obtain them, he needed to get more exp, which means more dangerous missions...
What could he duplicate that could immediately be a boon for him?
'Should I duplicate the Phantasm revolver again and use it for myself?
As he thought so, he looked at his hands, and more specifically, his black jacket.
"Wait, I don't need to own the thing to duplicate them, right? That's it!'
"You did...well...."
A voice knocked him out of his thoughts as Axis turned around and saw the girl looking at him with a bit of fear in her eyes.
"So? Satisfied?"
"Yes, we were satisfied! Thank you!"
After that, they hurriedly completed the contract, transferred 20 credits to Ax, and left.
"You scared them, poor girls."
"That's what I intended." Ax rolled his eyes at Harold's remark.
