It was the next morning a bright early morning with the sun scorching heat at Cupid as he got out of his small hut standing on his two feet with a genuine smile on his face. He had survived another day this didn't seem like much to the animals around him, but he was grateful just to be alive at this time. The animals had slept all around him while he slept creating such a peaceful scenery, but Cupid knew this couldn't last, he needed to leave he needed to go somewhere else and so he did. Eventually he kept walking around the forest seeing different trees and berries and colored leaves hanging in the sky as the wind swept them across his eyes. By now he had almost left the forest, yet he was unaware of the situation he was about to be put in again a situation that would test his resolve on running away.
It was a highway with many speeding cars travelling across at high speeds just one wrong step and a car would be fast enough to kill him in his entirety. It caused Cupid some anxiety to the extreme he thought of how jack might assess the situation and what he would do to get across the highway. Now though was not a time for cupid to be scared at all it was time for him to be fearless to be brave and become stronger mentally. As he eventually decided to jump over the rail he said "FUCK IT" with a bright smile on his face and ran across it as fast as he could with his feet and his legs trying their best to get across as fast as possible. Trying not to think about the impending doom that would happen if a car got him he tried to divert his attention just focusing on getting across.Well it did in fact work though as the adrenaline took his feet all the way across as cars hurriedly went across right after he eventually made it.
It left him awestruck and barely able to breath almost completely out of breath he layed down on the other side of grass on the hill that ran up from the highway he laid down on this patch of grass without a worry in the world anymore finally his tears had turned into a smile for the first time without feeling any sort of worry he had faced and crossed a trial he had no clue could even be a thing and struggle for him completely. He got up though and continued to walk along this path he had chosen for himself as he walked across the street that was up upon the top of the hill seeing several people have a picnic suddenly turn their heads back to look at him a middle school kid who had jumped across a highway just completely mindless as to what happened eventually just going back to their own.
Cupid had walked the streets of the city he had found himself in for several hours admiring the beauty of the scenery from the graffiti on the walls to the broken-down old buildings people would go around and say they were haunted. Seeing kids in the street playing dice with grown men complaining that the adults had scammed the kids it showed a culture a point of view that cupid had never even thought possible a society that flourished although imperfect it clearly was perfectly reflecting the people in the society. Buildings releasing smoke on top from people doing cookouts to dogs playing in the park with their owners barking at people running along the sidewalks.to stores trying to sell people things on the sidewalk offering free samples to dudes wearing raggedy clothes trying to sell their mixtapes to people skating around the city in cliques and at skateparks. Cupid had begun to become envious of the place he had never been before seeing the street signs he's never seen before and he got even more jealous when it became nighttime.

When he saw the buildings light up with such ferocity and beauty electrifying as beautiful as butterflies flying in the wind. Buildings light up in various unique colors and shades that portrayed love and greed of humanity the wealth we so desired, so we go to a casino at nighttime with a bright sign saying its open to a strip club Cupid saw saying they offered good times and deals half off. To the busy hustling environment that came with nighttime as people he saw several couples holding hands and kids with their parents enjoying a late night dinner in a cafe light up. With no money and nowhere to go cupid had to decide what to do of the situation of what to do now he was never indecisive he was just a very thoughtful quiet child.
Honestly though he was jealous of what he saw of the families having a good time or the couples in the hustling streets just enjoying ones company under an umbrella as the rain had begun to fall and made the beautiful hazy moon turn a dash of blue and the jazz bands that played outside the strip club he wished he had a group of friends like that he wished he could play jazz as well as those people did but he didn't. He wasn't sure if he had any talents at all he wasn't really sure what talent was to be honest. He saw some people have it but wondered if it was acquirable to a person like him a person who had only known trials and tribulations. He thought it could never be in his reach, but never could he be so wrong. Now though he had begun to decide on what to do after traversing through the city on more time he took a blanket he found in an old garbage can along with some trash that he would eat for his dinner a half-eaten hot pocket and donut and with those things layed down at the top of a slide that was at a playground near a pet shop he had seen such beautiful dog breeds since he never had an animals he really liked them a lot.
He layed down upon the top of the slide just thinking about everything that happened and everything he saw today while he wasn't sure of what to think of it all at the time. He knew this life was better than the life back at home, but he realized that it wouldn't last that long. Maybe one day he would eventually have to go back home he didn't want to do that at all though he didn't wasn't to deal with his dad or his mom, so he got it out of his head the thoughts of them. He decided to count the dazzling charming stars he could see outside trying to find constellations like the big dipper or little dipper or see the zodiac signs, but he did not have such luck only being able to find the little dipper. Though with his half-eaten donut he knew he wouldn't let his life be the way it is now he needed to change to become something.
