That night Cupid didn't eat or sleep he barely even blinked he didn't even move a muscle from where he was at. He felt extremely tired and ashamed of himself barely able to even cry anymore he stayed like that for a whole day. The second day he decided to clean up the vomit and around the apartment area trying his best to make his parents happy even if deep down he had some deep-rooted hatred for them on some level. Though he had not even seen his father after the night he was drinking as sometimes he would go days or even a couple weeks before coming home completely worrying mother and not knowing what was going on at all caused her a lot of frustration. Though for Cupid this just brought peace within his heart knowing he didn't have to see that scary man.

By the third day he felt brave enough to go back to the park where Jack and he played at he waited all day and night only for him to never show up. Causing Cupid to gain a form of anxiety "is he just going to leave me, does he truly not care about, maybe I should go home, I need Jack". All these thoughts swirling around cupids mind he felt a sense of distaste and misunderstood once again but nevertheless he decided to go home. Mother wasn't home probably out fucking some random man jack just subtly thought to himself. He was all alone just him and the tv all alone it gave him kind of a peace of mind once again. Anything was better than having to deal with the pain that his parents gave him even if it meant he didn't eat that day or barely slept he didn't care. Though bright tomorrow morning he went right to the park, and he saw him there he saw jack.

"Jack! jack where were you bro where were you!" Said cupid ecstatically. "Oh, my bad I wasn't here yesterday or the day before but where were you bro I missed you! "Said jack. Cupid thinking back upon the depressing memories not wanting to relive them, so he decided to ignore the question. "Uh well it doesn't matter! but did u get more chalk today to draw? "Said jack. "Yea I got more chalk but... we should go around the neighborhood around here more see what we can find I heard there's even a haunted house!" Said jack trying to sound mysteriously as he said it."What there's no way only haunted house I know is an old man that is creepy "Said Cupid while shying his nose away as to make it seem as if the old man stinks too."Well Cupid we have to do something I don't want to be sitting around here doing nothing or just drawing lets at least walk around the neighborhood know. "Said jack convincingly. "Yea okay let's do that". Said jack.

While cupid was familiar with the area around his apartment, he had never bothered to really take the time to rectify his understanding or try and really see what was around him or in the area he kind of thought of it as useless as all he liked was the park and all he knew besides that was home as suffocating as home was it was also safe in a sense. To go outside of home outside of the park meant new territory meant new environments and getting out of his comforts zone. A whole world out there and he didn't know any of it jack thought to himself. The neighborhood he lived in though while most of it was rundown there was the park and also gas station a theater on the far-left side and an arcade on the far right. While they may have wanted to go to the theater or the arcade, they were young didn't have their parents and didn't have money, so they decided to just walk around the neighborhood on the sidewalks.

"Well let's go pet the dog then! what's the worst that could happen right. "While jack was arrogant and kind, he was also impulsive majorly. "Wait jack I don't think that's the best idea though, "Said Cupid. Jack didn't care he climbed the fence and so did cupid following him to eventually try and pet the sleeping dog at first it seemed like he could really do it and he did once. The dog was a Malamute German Sheperd mix with a blue collar on it had to be just a few years old. Before the dog Jumped up and startled him and started to growl as Jack slowly crept back. "Hey doggie doggie good doggie? "Said Jack. "Jack RUN!" Said Cupid hurringly!They both sprinted all the way back to the fence as fast as they could their legs could be heard as the sound of their feet brushing against the grass. The dog was fast really fast especially to two nine-year-old boys it seemed like a cheetah. Instantly after it fully awoke it stopped growling and started deeply barking before it chased after them. "RUN FASTER" said jack full of paranoia. Both cupid and jack were running at tops speed for the dog was nearly behind them as the dogs barking was only getting louder and louder. The dog even biting the back of jack's shirt before he narrowly got on top of the fence then it changed its target to cupid seeing he had not made it over the fence. "HURRY CUPID HURRY! "Said jack full of passion. Running running faster than he had ever run before cupid jumped as the dog's mouth barely missed his foot onto the fence both of them instantly jumping off of it then. Only to hear the loud barking of the dog behind them. They both walked back to the park without saying a word.
