"Observing the human-turned-Bilpefur, Dariel?" the speaker hummed. "Fascinating. What is Lord DeNultra's aim in transforming a human into a Zeozon? Such a race is not native to Zeldritzon. Odd, odd, odd."

The giant crow monster shook his head, turning to peer at another portal. It broadcast a Merecritt confronting the Bilpefur in a frustrated manner—she was another human transformed into a monster. GamaGen found it peculiar: two humans, each originating from a bare-bone dimensional plane, as in, no magic.
This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings.
Dariel's origin was more mundane. The other human, the girl, came from a universe where technological advancements were quite significant. Dariel was a simple man, a game programmer before his demise. The girl—correction, the young woman who was at least a year into her adulthood—was a resistance fighter in a war-torn solar system.
He attributed such a phenomenon to his Emperor Sovereign's doing. His superior had a knack for odd experiments and games. Lord DeNultra enjoyed playing with the lives and destinies of beings from different worlds, bending them to his will and amusement. GamaGen knew better than to question his Emperor Sovereign's motives, but he couldn't help but wonder what purpose these two transformed humans served in the grand scheme of things.
He tapped his wingtip to his chin and continued to observe. "Communicutie, be a dear and zoom in for me on the Bilpefur and the Merecritt. Let's see how this interaction unfolds," he instructed the floating sphere monster nearby.
"Yes, sire!" The Communicutie saluted.
As the image zoomed in, GamaGen could hear the conversation between the two transformed humans.
The Merecritt, with her sleek, midnight-blackish fur and sharp claws, seemed to be accusing Dariel of something. "Damn it! I told you already to back off!"
Dariel, on the other hand, appeared to be trying to explain himself, his fur-covered body tense. He laughed nervously as the girl circled around him. He kept his arms above his head. "Look, I keep trying to explain myself! We're in the same predicament, and it would be better if we were to work together."
He took several steps back. "Besides, I'm not going to attack you. I'm not interested in that at all."
GamaGen noticed how the black-furred monster's ears twitched. Her eyes narrowed, and she growled, "What do you mean by that?" She pointed at Dariel, accusing him with a sharp finger. "You know something! Tell me what it is! NOW!"
Dariel winced as the girl yelled in his face. "Chill. Like I said before, I was originally a human like you. I lived in a completely different world. You're from another one, right? Well, we're both probably in some crazy experiment or game or whatever. And I'm just as confused as you are. So can we please just stop this fighting? I don't want to fight you."
The Merecritt huffed and crossed her arms. "And how do I know that you aren't lying to me?"
Dariel sheepishly scratched the back of his head. "Where do you want me to start? I love devouring a good burger loaded with fries. I grew up as an only child. I live in an apartment in Seattle and work for a small company as a game programmer. And I have a crush on a cute girl named Lisa—"
"All right, all right, I get it," the Merecritt snapped. "I don't want to hear about your sad, mundane life."
"Oh, then I take it you're an only child as well?"
"No, I'm not. I had a sister." She spat.
GamaGen observed how the Bilpefur's eyes lit up, intrigued by the information the Merecritt shared with him.
"Wait, did you have? Does that mean something happened to her, miss…"
A's ears twitched as she glared at Dariel.
She turned her head away from him. "It's A to you, and it's none of your business. But just so you know, I have no intention of working with you. If you follow me one more time, I'll fucking rip you to shreds."
"But—" Dariel's eyes widened as he saw A dash away into the forest. He sighed, shaking his head. He mumbled to himself, "I really need to watch my tongue sometimes."
The giant crow monster hummed, watching as the scene cut out. "Interesting. These two seem to be very different from one another. I wonder what will come of their interactions? Well, this is quite entertaining. Communicutie, be sure to record this event in the archives."
"Yes, sire!" The orb saluted again, before returning to its regular position, floating near GamaGen.
"Yes, Communicutie darling, I'd advise you to archive everything for my enjoyment," an indecipherable mass of darkness loomed above GamaGen's coliseum of a nest, architected by the sagely crow himself.
"M-My Emperor Sovereign!" The monster squawked, startled by the sudden appearance of Lord DeNultra. "You have arrived. I am honored to be in your presence once more."
"GamaGen…" boomed the darkness, expanding, consuming the heavens. "I hope you're not prying too much into my affairs. You realize that if you do, you shall be terminated."
The crow monster stiffened, feeling a chill run down his spine. He gulped. "I—I apologize for overstepping my boundaries, Your Majesty. You know how I am, I am quite curious and can't help but indulge myself in such matters. I assure you that I only have the best intentions in mind."
"Oh? Is that so? Then you shall continue to observe my playthings, yes? I have plans for them, and I'd like to see how they pan out. Now, dear sage, would you like to know what I have in store for our Bilpefur and Merecritt?"
GamaGen gave his lord a solemn frown. "Indeed, Lord DeNultra, I would."
He glimpsed a portal reluctantly. "However, I must warn you. I do not want to be involved in any way, shape, or form with your little game. This here…is going too far. Humans are not meant to be here on Zeldritzon. And even more, they are not meant to be monsters. It is not a natural state for them..."
Lord DeNultra chuckled, its booming laughter echoing through the void of darkness. "Oh, but GamaGen, dear GamaGen. Don't you know how fascinating it is? I can't help but be amused by these two. So unique, so interesting."
"My Lord, if I may ask, why? Why did you do it? You have an entire world at your disposal. What made you bring them into this world?" The monster questioned.
"Why, because of this, dear GamaGen, this right here. This is what I wanted. These two are going to be the key to a new world, a new era. One that will bring about a new balance."
The crow monster shook his head, his beak curved into a frown.
"What's with the look, GamaGen? Displeased? Those mortals are better off here than the afterlife." The darkness grinned. "Anyway. I want you to alter several rules for me, GamaGen. It would be in your best interest if you did."
"Denied, Lord DeNultra. I'm a stickler to the original rules inscribed by our ancestors. Altering them would only bring chaos to Zeldritzon." He created a hundred million wards around himself, barely a failsafe if DeNultra chose to strike.
"Please reconsider, my Emperor Sovereign. We cannot have our world become a chaotic one," his expression became grim, "Never again. I refused you the first time, I will do it again."
"Is that so?" Lord DeNultra's voice boomed throughout the realm, frightening the Communicuties, and they were quick to retreat from the vicinity by portal.
"That's unfortunate. I was hoping you would agree with my plans. You know what? I think it'd be better if you just disappeared. How does that sound, my dear sage? Does that sound delightful to you? Hmmm?"
Tendrils smashed into and shattered the [Ultra] enhanced wards, ensnaring GamaGen's limbs.
The crow monster sighed. "Then eradicate me, Lord DeNultra. I lived long enough as it is. I am satisfied with my life and service. If I am to perish, so be it. It's in your claws, my lord."
"You old coot," the darkness growled, "Very well, I'll show you a great mercy. I'll make you sleep. Forever."
A surge of dark magic swept through the air, the crow monster could feel the powerful spell heading his way.
He sighed.
This is the end, isn't it?
A flash of light filled the air.
GamaGen closed his eyes, taking in a deep breath.
The spell hit him.
Then there was nothing.
