KiAera held up her paws placatingly. "Relax, relax, I'm just asking because I need those crystals, too. To feed my companions," her gaze shifted to Mu, Nu, and Beta Osseod who stood close by. Their eyes widened in anticipation as KiAera mentioned feeding them.
The Plelepun followed her gaze and tilted its head. "Companions?" it asked incredulously.
KiAera nodded. "Yeah, these Osseods are my companions. We're traveling together right now."
She paused to ponder her next words. "So you stole it because you found it first?"
The adorable elephant calf nodded slowly.
She shook her head and chuckled lightly. "Well, I'm sorry to tell you this, but I created that satchel and collected its contents, so technically speaking, it is mine." Her pressed her paw to her chest. "I'd love if you would return it."
The Plelepun frowned, its expression contorting into a scowl. It stamped its foot angrily, causing tremors to run through the ground beneath them.
KiAera winced, taking a step back reflexively. This elephant calf was powerful enough to shake the very earth itself with its mere steps alone. She didn't want to fight it if she could avoid it; she knew she stood no chance against such strength. However, she needed those crystals it stole from her.
"Look, please listen to me," KiAera pleaded. "We both need crystals, right? Let's work together and share the satchel's contents evenly. If you don't agree, then we'll settle this another way..." Her voice trailed off ominously.
KiAera gritted her teeth, preparing to launch a counterattack if necessary. She hoped that reason would prevail instead of violence.
The Plelepun hesitated, its trunk swaying hesitantly. "Yo! Fine... Yo! I guess I can share... But only because I'm such a nice Plelepun!" It declared haughtily. "Yo! Just remember who gave you mercy, yo! Cause if you try anything funny, I'll stomp your ass into the dirt!"
KiAera breathed a sigh of relief as she relaxed her stance. "Thank you! Thank you very much!" She exclaimed excitedly as she reached forward eagerly to take the satchel from the Plelepun.
However, before she could grab it, the Plelepun snatched it back with its trunk. It glared at her warningly, its eyes flashing dangerously.
"Yo! Don't think this means we're friends or anything, yo! Because we aren't! Got it?! We're just partners, nothing more!" With an indignant huff, it gently placed the satchel back into KiAera's paws.
KiAera blinked, caught off guard by the sudden change in attitude. Nevertheless, she accepted the satchel gratefully. "Of course! Partners! Got it!" She chirped with a smile.
Turning toward the Osseods behind her, she grinned broadly. "Guess what, guys? We got crystals!"
Mu, Nu, and Beta Osseods squealed with delight, bouncing up and down in excitement. Their carapaces rattling loudly as they clapped their ears together in joy.
KiAera opened the satchel wide open, revealing a multitude of light-blue crystals within. The Osseods crowded around her eagerly, their eyes sparkling with anticipation.
She scooped out several crystals and distributed them equally among herself and the vigilant Plelepun, making sure not to take more than her share.
Then, she settled down comfortably near a tree trunk. She stretched out her legs, letting the cool breeze wash over her fur. Her tail flicked lazily as she enjoyed the peace and quiet of the evening.
All was well.

"RA! RA! RAVILASH!" gestured several Ravilash.
"RAAAAAAAAAHHHH!" roared an enormous, coiling mass of vines and tendrils, quaking and trampling the forest in its irate rush. That critter dares!

"You know what's dumb, yo? Making me work hard. Why should I have to dig underground? Digging is such a drag, yo," the elephant calf yawned loudly, blinking its round eyes slowly.
"Besides, digging takes too long. Who has time for that? Not me, that's for sure, yo!"
KiAera arched her brow skeptically, a smirk forming on her lips. "That's not what you said a while ago. You practically threatened to 'stomp my ass into the dirt.' Surely, that wouldn't be too difficult for someone like yourself, correct?"
"What's wrong with a little teasing? Can't a Plelepun get a bit of fun in their lives now and then?" the elephant calf snorted.
"And besides, it's not like digging is bad per se. It's just tedious, boring, and... it gets exhausting quickly."
KiAera shrugged, unconcerned by the Plelepun's complaints. "If you want, there might be other ways for you to gather crystals..."
"Oh? How?" The Plelepun inquired with a raised brow.
KiAera giggled and pulled out the light-blue crystal from her satchel. "You could always ask a nice Merecritt who happens to be in possession of crystals. It's as simple as that. See?" She waved the stone before returning it to her satchel.
The Plelepun frowned in thought. "Yo, I think I like the sound of that."
KiAera smiled and patted the elephant calf's head. "Of course! It's so much easier to accept what's already been given to you rather than having to obtain it yourself. You simply lack the courage to take advantage of such an opportunity."
The Plelepun rolled its eyes. "Yo! How dare you accuse me of cowardice! I'm a mighty warrior! Fearless! Unafraid!"
KiAera narrowed her eyes at it. "Really?"
The Plelepun bobbed its head eagerly. "Yes, indeed! I am strong!"
KiAera crossed her arms over her chest. She recalled something that GamaGen mentioned to her during its teachings: "Boo. Burrow Scourge," she whispered.
The Plelepun froze, its body stiffening momentarily before its eyes welled with tears. It swiveled its head as it trembled. "W-where?" The frightened elephant calf whimpered weakly. "Where are they? Where are the Burrow Scourges? Yo!"
KiAera's expression softened sympathetically. Her tail coiled around the leg of the much larger elephant calf. She felt the urge to comfort it somehow, despite knowing the extent of its power. It looked so innocent sitting there. It reminded her of her sister…
"They're not here. Not in this region if I recall." She placed a paw to her chin.
"Yo, really? Thank goodness!" the Plelepun exclaimed as its entire demeanor changed instantly. Its ears flapped as it began stamping around happily.
"Yo! Yo! Yoooo! I'm safe!"
KiAera watched as the elephant calf bounced around. It seemed so carefree, so happy. It was almost unbelievable how quickly its mood shifted. She smiled at the sight.
"So, um... About those crystals... Can I have some more now, yo?" The elephant calf asked.
KiAera snorted. "I've given you more than enough. You'll be fine for a while."
The Plelepun pouted, its ears drooping sadly. "Aww, but I need more! I'm a growing Plelepun, you know! I require lots of crystals to maintain my massive bulk!"
KiAera chuckled lightly, "You're pretty cute when you whine. Like a spoiled child."
The Plelepun frowned, its trunk curling indignantly. "Yo! I am not cute! I am a mighty warrior! And warriors are not cute!"
KiAera arched a brow. "A mighty warrior, huh? Well, I guess that explains why you were so easily scared by the mention of a Burrow Scourge."
The Plelepun huffed, crossing its trunk over its leg. "Yo! That's different! Burrow Scourges are scary!"
"Uh huh, sure they are. And I suppose you wouldn't mind if I told you that a Burrow Scourge is right behind you?"
The Plelepun yelped, spinning around frantically as it searched for danger. Its trunk flared as it sniffed the air. "Yo! Where?! Where?!"
KiAera rolled her eyes. "There's no Burrow Scourges here."
The Plelepun turned back towards KiAera and glared at her. "Yo! That wasn't funny!"
KiAera grinned. "Oh, but it was."
The Plelepun grumbled under its breath, its ears drooping dejectedly. "Yo, you're mean. Why do you keep teasing me? Yo!"
KiAera giggled, "Because it's fun. And it's nice to see a thief get flustered once in a while."
"Yo! You're being quite mean, you know? Acting like a itty bity bully bunny! It's not fair to pick on someone who's feeling all flustered!" it thrusted its trunk towards KiAera.
KiAera shook her head. "I'm not picking on anyone. I'm just having fun. And besides, it's not like you didn't deserve it. I mean, you did try to steal our crystals without permission earlier."
The Plelepun huffed indignantly. "Yo! That doesn't matter! You could've been more respectful!"
KiAera sighed. If she goes any further, it might go through its promise of stomping her. "Fine, fine, I apologize for my behavior. There. Happy now?"
The Plelepun crossed its trunk over its leg and looked away. "Yo! I'll forgive you if you give me some more crystals!"
KiAera laughed, "Oh, alright. If you insist." She reached into her satchel and pulled out a handful of light-blue crystals. She offered them to the Plelepun, who immediately snatched them up eagerly.
KiAera watched as the Plelepun stuffed the crystals into its mouth and began crunching loudly. Its eyes lit up with delight as it chewed on them.

KiAera frowned, feeling uneasy as she watched the Plelepun consume the crystals. Her intuition told her that something was off, but she couldn't quite pinpoint what exactly was wrong.
