"Wow!" A small gasp of wonder escaped Amber's beak as she ogled the towering crystal building before them. "What is that, Kiki? How did they build that thing?! Did the Plelepun help make it too?! Can I stand on it?!"
Amber bounced excitedly as she skipped towards the structure with wide-eyes and an excited smile upon her face.
KiAera remained silent, too perturbed as to why the Crystal looked like her?! Well, to be more exact—the head of her Merecritt-self, with the addition of the arcs being two big, taut rabbit ears... And a flaming tail, for some reason!
The Sapkins peered down at her, their eyes filled with uncertainty as they stared at her suspiciously. KiAera frowned slightly.
"This... This is my... Err... Our new home, I guess," KiAera explained.
"So... Is that what ya meant by upgrades?" Saptal asked slowly.
"N-No... I-I-It's nothing like that!" KiAera stammered before looking at the ground awkwardly, her ears twitching nervously. "I wanted GamaGen and the Plelepun to fix up some stuff, make some basic defenses, put up some walls... a place for myself, the Osseods, and Amber to sleep, and maybe make a dining room so I didn't eat on my bed every time, and..."
She paused, frowning as she noticed Saptal and Sapshorla were giving her looks that suggested they did not believe her one bit. She sighed. "Alright, I asked them to make something a bit larger and nicer."
Her head swiveled to glare at the building. "But nothing in my image... I look like some kind of egotistical lunatic or something."
Saptal glanced at the Crystal Shelter then back at her, raising one of his bushy eyebrows as if questioning whether she actually knew what she was talking about. She stared back at him firmly, refusing to falter in her own defense. "I did NOT tell them to make a structure like that," she insisted, her tail whipping angrily.
"You... Yer so innocent and adorable..." Sapshorla sniggered. "It's... It's funny, ya know?" She grinned, her budded cheeks flushing brightly.
Saptal crossed his arms over his chest as he continued to stare at KiAera suspiciously. "I see... But... How did they even build this huge thing?!" He motioned his leafy arm.
She was unsure as well; but speaking of an old crow… KiAera noticed GamaGen hovering towards them before stopping before the group. "Hey! GamaGen!" She waved her paw furiously.
| 'Welcome back, Miss KiAera.' | He greeted with his usual calm voice, acting completely oblivious of her annoyance towards the structure's modification, it seemed. | 'We did some remodeling on your behalf... Did you notice the new, upgraded facilities?' |
KiAera pointed her thumb towards the Crystal Shelter. "GamaGen... That thing's a monstrosity, you know." She crossed her arms over her chest; frowning slightly as she glared at the giant crystal-like head.
| 'I see you're displeased with our new and improved Crystal Shelter, Miss KiAera?' | The book tilted.
KiAera shook her head, letting out a soft sigh of frustration as she turned to the sentient book. "How the heck did you build something like that in one day, GamaGen?! Seriously... This... This is beyond the level of the Crystal Shelter I devised... I mean... Look at that!"
The Sapkins and Amber, followed by the congregating Osseods, looked towards her direction. They seemed intrigued, as though she were discussing something that intrigued them.
GamaGen continued. | 'Your previous command was to create a home with basic necessities as well as to improve our defenses,' | GamaGen stated plainly. | 'I, and the Plelepun, followed the mental blueprints you've envisioned for a "home", Miss KiAera. And with the Osseods and our collective abilities, we were able to create such a magnificent structure that we call 'The Crystal Shelter v2', with an addition of our own...' |
If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
| '...That would be your... Ahem...' | The sentient book's raven symbol shimmered from side to side before looking towards KiAera, her face turning bright red, her ears twitching and the tip of her tail flushing into a flame.
The Plelepun popped up beside KiAera. "Yo! Good evening, KiAera!"
"Hey... Umm... You guys made my head into that... thing..." She gestured to the building, "...without even asking me. Don't you think it's a bit too much? And the name too! What kind of a name is 'v2', anyway?! I didn't want anything that extravagant. And why does it have rabbit ears and a flaming tail?! You guys really don't have any taste!" She frowned, her ears drooping.
"Yo. We tried our best," the Plelepun chuckled, "If you don't like it, you can just have us make something else. It's not that hard. We can do that anytime, really."
"I guess..." KiAera shrugged her shoulders as she continued to glare at the "improvised" Crystal Shelter.
"It's weird," Amber commented. "I mean, it's your head, Kiki!"
Big Osseod bounced towards them with a joyous grin. It pointed its stubby leg at the structure. "Big KiAera! Big KiAera! Big KiAera!" It exclaimed happily, causing the other Osseods to cheer in agreement as well.
KiAera couldn't help but smile fondly at the group of Zeozon monsters, her annoyance fading as she felt a warmth swell within her chest.
She let out a soft sigh as she scratched the back of her neck awkwardly. "Okay, you win... I'm sorry for snapping at you guys."
The Osseods and the Plelepun let out a chorus of cheers before bouncing up and down happily.
Amber giggled, and the Sapkins chuckled at their antics, approaching KiAera.
"So... We're gonna sleep in that thing now? Where we'll live with you?" Saptal asked, his voice sounding quite skeptical.
"Yeah... Sure, I guess... Well, we'll start moving stuff in after dinner. There should be a dining hall and kitchen inside, so I think we'll be fine for the time being, right?" She responded, smiling softly.
"Alright then." Saptal nodded, smiling brightly.
| 'Hmm... Indeed...' | GamaGen paused, his voice growing serious. | 'The reason we have decided to build this new structure is to show our gratitude to you, Miss KiAera. Your kindness and generosity have touched us deeply, and we wanted to express our appreciation in return.' |
"Oh! Thank you very much! But that really wasn't necessary!" KiAera chuckled, blushing slightly at the compliment.
The sentient book hovered closer towards KiAera, its pages flipping open and closing rapidly.
| 'It's the least we could do for our dear leader.' | GamaGen replied simply.
KiAera smiled warmly at the floating book. "Thanks, GamaGen. I appreciate it."
"Yeah, thanks, GamaGen!" Sapshorla chimed in. "You're so thoughtful!"
GamaGen turned to the Sapkins, observing them momentarily before closing his pages and nodding slowly.
| 'Indeed. I am glad to see Miss KiAera has recruited such fine companions as yourselves. I look forward to working with you two in the future.' | GamaGen turned to Amber.
| 'You too, youngster Amber. You've done well taking care of our leader.' |
Amber whooped as she bowed her head respectfully towards the sentient book.
The Sapkins exchanged glances, chuckling lightly.
"Ya sure talk a lot, huh, GamaGen?" Saptal teased playfully.
The raven-symbol shimmered in response.
"That's enough talking for today. I think we should head inside and see what kind of new place you guys made for me... umm... us." KiAera motioned to the others, who all nodded in agreement.
KiAera released another sigh, her shoulders relaxing as she looked towards the Crystal Shelter v2 once again.
"Well, now that's over with, let's go inside and have dinner."
The group cheered as everyone headed towards the entrance of the Crystal Shelter v2, with GamaGen and the Plelepun following behind them.

The inside of the Crystal Shelter was just as spectacular as the outside, with its crystal walls smoothed and floors polished. There were several rooms on either side of the main room, each containing a bed or two, with one large, central room that served as a lounge and dining room.
In the middle of the main room was a large table with chairs made from twisted tree roots, a large chandelier hanging above it, and several cushions lined the floor.
"Wow! This is amazing." KiAera expressed, surveying the interior in awe. She raised a brow, glancing skeptically from GamaGen to the Plelepun. "You guys really accomplished this in a day?"
The Plelepun chuckled as it gave her a trunk-up. "Don't worry about that, yo. We have our own ways of moving stuff around."
GamaGen remained silent for a moment. | 'Simply give a Kravenox a blueprint, and we shall improvise.' |
KiAera held her gaze on the floating book momentarily before turning away. "Right."
"Scarbol and the other Kobolbos assisted with the construction, yo," the Plelepun shrugged. "Modifications were easy. Like this!" The Plelepun turned and waved its trunk downward. Immediately, one wall inside the Crystal Shelter receded into the floor like a rock formation sinking into water.
KiAera watched as the other monsters with her stared at the Plelepun blankly where the wall had sunk, replaced by a trench in the ground.
"Cool, huh?" the Plelepun grinned, showing off its long teeth. "I can dig wherever I want! 'Earth Magic'."
KiAera nodded, gazing at the site. "Neat."
