The plant monster roared again in anger, lashing out with its vines, but it was no use—the wyvern was too fast, weaving through the air with ease.

"Yo! That bird is nuts!" Plelepun hollered from below. "You gotta give him a raise, KiAera!"

"Yeah, tell him that when we're not dying, Plelepun!" KiAera snapped, flinging a swipe at the vines trailing her.

But even as they escaped, the vines persisted, growing longer and faster as they pursued them into the sky. Kyrawl dodged the first few, but soon they were caught in the trap, and KiAera immediately unleashed an intense Spectral Flame burst to incinerate the vines. The flames of her will left Kyrawl unscathed.

Kyrawl roared, and in a graceful maneuver, it tossed KiAera upward for her to land on its back.

"Go, Kyrawl! Faster!" she yelled, clinging on for dear life as they soared higher. The Carnilash's vines still chased them, but Kyrawl evaded the lashing limbs. "Come on, just a little further!"

The wyvern screeched as it picked up speed, the forest shrinking beneath them.

From up here, KiAera could see the full extent of the battle—the Plelepun was still burrowing around, trying to collapse the ground beneath the Carnilash, and the Osseods were scattered, hiding from the mayhem. The Carnilash was a hulking mass of vines and rage, roaring up at her with a terrifying intensity.

But something shifted inside KiAera. Maybe it was desperation. Maybe it was her survival instinct kicking into overdrive. Either way, her eyes flashed, and for a split second, she felt a weird… connection with Kyrawl. Her Chimera's Mark suddenly flared to life, glowing bright and hot.

Kyrawl jerked its head toward her. Their eyes locked. The connection deepened, a pulse of energy rippling between them. KiAera's breath caught in her throat. No way...

The Mark on her forehead flared with blinding light, and in an instant, KiAera felt her body morph, shift. Her form merged with Kyrawl's—feathers sprouted from her arms, her ears elongated even further, and she felt her tail lengthen. She felt the power surging through her veins, the strength of two souls combined into one.

When the light faded, KiAera stood taller, her form now a hybrid of her own and Kyrawl's. Her wings stretched wide, flames danced at the tips of her talons, and her tail flicked with icy fire. Now this felt exhilarating!

But she was ready for it this time—her wings flapped, catching the wind, and she propelled herself forward, talons outstretched. The Spectral Flame at the tip of her tail blazed as she slashed through the vines, tearing through them with ease.

The Carnilash roared in pain, its jagged mouth twisting into a grimace. It tried to swat her away, but KyAera was too quick, darting around its blows.

Her new form felt incredible—the power, the strength, the speed. It was unlike anything she'd ever experienced before. With a ferocious roar, she dove into the fray, her talons blazing with fiery Spectral Flames as she tore through the Carnilash's vines. The monster roared in agony, its jagged mouth twisting into a grimace.

With a fierce yell, she swooped in for the final strike, plunging her talons deep into the Carnilash's core. The monster let out a piercing scream, its body convulsing as she tore it apart from the inside out. She felt the fire of her will burning through it, consuming it from within.

The Carnilash writhed in pain, its jagged mouth twisted into a grimace, but it was no match for the combined strength of her and Kyrawl.

She let out a triumphant screech, her wings stretching wide as the last of the Carnilash roared back. With one final, mighty slash, she unleashed a curved air wave and severed the monster in two.
