'Fascinating,' she mused. 'So, this is how it works.'
She had absorbed particles in the past, and she knew that they were crucial to her growth. Yet, this was the first time she saw creatures absorbing them; the first time she absorbed them. On the other hand, improving the [Tech] of her skill had her wondering if it were by chance.
"I feel better. Why am I feeling so good after this?" she asked herself. She flexed her paws, not expecting to feel so invigorated.
| 'You have a general idea. This phenomenon. It occurs when one is victorious against a Zeozon. Remember what we discussed, what I have taught you. This is how Zeldritzon works.' | GamaGen replied, floating closer to her.
"Yeah. I know, I know..." KiAera mumbled. She wasn't paying attention to the floating book; she was still mesmerized by the sight in front of her. "I guess I got lucky that the Tropiruth got caught in my flame..."
"LEELEE!" The LeapLeap trio approached her, noticing that the wounded one held the Liorex egg in its grasp once more. The egg carrying LeapLeap reached her first.
"Leelee lee lee lee!" the creature bowed its head. It then lifted its head—KiAera caught sight of its pretty amber eyes. 'So pretty. For now, I’ll dub this one Amber, to make it easier for myself.' She thought.
| 'Ahem,' | GamaGen cleared its throat.
| '"Thank you for saving me from the Tropiruth. I owe you, Merekit," is what she said,' | GamaGen translated for her.
"Oh! Well, uh...you're welcome!" KiAera replied with a smile. She felt proud that she had managed to help out someone else in need.
"I'm glad you're alright..." She grimaced as her gaze trailed to the LeapLeap's bite-mark. "Are you sure you're okay? That looks like a nasty wound." She gestured towards its back nape and abdomen.
"LEELEE!" The LeapLeap chirped happily. "Lee lee lee lee."
| '"I am fine. It's a small wound. Nothing to worry about," is what she said,' | GamaGen translated again.
KiAera smiled. "I'm glad to hear that." She then turned to the other LeapLeaps. "And what about you two? Are you guys alright?" She recalled the two fleeing from the scene, leaving their wounded companion behind. But she couldn't fault them for that; at least they had returned and now all was well.
The two LeapLeaps nodded. "Leele lee lee lee," They both said at the same time.
| '"We are well. Thank you for saving our companion." Is what they said,' | GamaGen translated again with a droned tone. | 'Fledglings...' | the book released a metaphorical breath.
"That's good to hear..." KiAera let out a sigh of relief. "Well, I'm glad you guys are safe." She glanced around, noting the scenery. The crimson fields stretched far and wide, and she could see countless hills of tall grass and bushes dotting the plains. She wondered if there were more Tropiruths lurking nearby.
"LeeLee!" The two other LeapLeaps hissed at the one KiAera dubbed Amber. The two seemed furious and distressed about Amber carrying... the egg.
"LEEE LEE!" Amber growled back at her two companions. She stood her ground, refusing to hand over the egg.
"Are you able to garner a guess as to what's wrong with these guys?" KiAera asked GamaGen.
| 'They are fighting over possession of the egg. The two are arguing that Amber should not have taken the egg. To put it down. To leave it behind before it arrives.' | GamaGen explained. It also seemed to know what "it" was as the raven emblem on its cover dimmed before taking on an ominous purple hue.
"To...leave it behind?" KiAera blinked. "What is this it, GamaGen?" Her gaze shifted to the rather large orange egg with flaming sigils etched on its surface. Her [Insight] activated once again.

"W-Wait, but—" KiAera tried to speak, but she was interrupted by a loud, rumbling that shook the field. The ground trembled, and the soil rippled like waves of water.
"LEELEE!" Amber screeched, and she took off, leaving the Liorex egg behind.
"LEELEE!" Her companions cried out as well, and they followed suit.
"ROOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAARRRR!!!!!"
The realm shook as a tremendous roar split the air, a terrifying sight as the area distorted before them, rendered and shattered. Suddenly, a portal formed, and a massive, reptilian creature shoved its elongated maw through, stepping forth with its talon foot. Its teeth bared, its eyes writhing with anger. T-Rex in form, bright red in color, the beast's lion-like mane fluttered as the grassland quaked. Its massive body was covered with sharp stripes, and its tail whipped with an iron blade.

KiAera paled at the sight, and her eyes widened in fear. She turned to the three fleeing LeapLeaps, who were mere specks in the horizon. "H-Hey, w-what do we do, GamaGen? What do we do?!" She asked frantically.

"G-GamaGen...?" KiAera pleaded for an answer from the wise book.
"ROOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAARRRR!!!!!" The ArchLiorex roared again, its fangs glistening in the crimson light. Its head swiveled in search for something, and KiAera acknowledged that the beast was looking for the egg.
"GAMAGEN!" KiAera whipped her head.
| 'We run. We run for our lives.' | The book responded. It zoomed away from her before she could react.
"What?! Are you kidding me?!!" She cried out. The ArchLiorex roared again, and it stomped forward with another heavy step. It had noticed the egg. The ground trembled even further, and KiAera felt the earth shift and crack beneath her feet. She tried to remain upright, but she lost balance and fell over.
She scrambled to her feet, but she tripped and rolled downhill as the ArchLiorex pounced towards the Liorex egg. Upon tumbling to the base of the hill, she looked back to see the ArchLiorex towering over the egg.
The ArchLiorex snarled and glared at her with its bright yellow eyes. "GET LOST, SHECRITCH!" It bellowed as it prepared to crush the Liorex egg underfoot.
KiAera felt her blood freeze before she felt her anger boil within her, and her fur bristled. She did the unthinkable as she screamed out at the monster and charged headfirst. "YOU LEAVE THAT EGG ALONE!!!!"

The ArchLiorex froze as its gaze shifted to her. "I smell a snake—"
"I SAID LEAVE THE EGG ALONE!!!" She had bounded up the hill, and before she knew it, her head collided with the egg. And with all of her strength, she tackled the egg and sent it rolling away from the ArchLiorex's wrath.
The ArchLiorex let out a surprised roar as the Liorex egg tumbled below it. Its thunderous stomp missed KiAera by a hairsbreadth, resulting in the sturdy egg to bounce and rolled downhill alongside her.
"Goddammit! That hurt!" KiAera cursed loudly as she and the egg rolled out of control. The Liorex egg was heavier than she expected, and it was hard to stop it from rolling away. Her body ached, and she could feel her muscles strain from the effort. But she refused to give up. She couldn't. Not while the ArchLiorex was in hot pursuit.
She grasped the Liorex egg, placing it on her and using her ears to stabilize it. She bolted with her [MereSwiftness] at its maximum.
The ArchLiorex was angry; its rage flared like an inferno. It roared and snapped its jaws at the fleeing pair. It pursued them relentlessly, and its monstrous steps shook the crimson fields with each stride. The ArchLiorex was so close that KiAera could almost taste its foul breath. She glanced at the egg and realized that the two of them were doomed if the beast managed to catch up to them. She had to think of something quick, or else she and the egg would become the ArchLiorex's meal.
"Here. KiAera! Here! Hop. Tunnel!" Her ears perked to the familiar voice. It belonged to the Big Osseod's.
She dashed without hesitation towards the crystalline creature and saw it emerge from a small opening in the ground, gesturing its stubby leg to it.
"Okay!" KiAera replied. She did not slow down as she glanced back at her tyrannous pursuer. "Big Osseod, you're my savior!"
She tossed the egg and gave it one last punt with her rabbit-like foot, and the egg was launched into the hole. KiAera sprinted faster without its weight, praying to herself not to be crushed.
'Faster damn it! FASTER!'

She leapt as the ArchLiorex growled in aggravation, moments before it pounced at her.
It spun and pivoted its massive form to swipe with its tail, its bladed tail cleaving the air above KiAera's head. The ArchLiorex had missed as KiAera dove into the tunnel.
KiAera tumbled through the hole, rapidly descending deeper, her eyes wide with excitement as she rolled. She came to a halt, releasing heavy haggard breaths.
Her fur was a mess, and she felt sore all over. But she didn't care; she had survived another day! A… day…
"Haha! Eat shit…" She exclaimed. This victory was better than none! The ArchLiorex missed its target, and she wasn't going to stay in place, just in case…
The ArchLiorex snarled and its voice resounded above. "You think this is over?! Huh?! I'll get you, you she-critt! And I'll eradicate you and that damn egg!" The tunnels shook the moment a stomp was heard.
The ArchLiorex unleashed a mighty roar once again, yet, at the same moment, it came to an abrupt end. "Marvelous. That damn snake is near. Sticking around no longer matters." It muttered loudly enough for KiAera to overhear. "Your scent is now on my radar, Merecritt! Mark my words! I will hunt you and that egg to the ends of Zeldritzon! I will not yield until you're eradicated!"
The sound of footsteps rumbled far above as KiAera continued to trek through the tunnel's depths. She needed to move, but where had the Liorex egg gone?
| 'Get going. This way.' | GamaGen's voice echoed in her head as the Big Osseod nudged the Liorex egg through the tunnel.
KiAera quickly followed the Big Osseod. The passageway was dark and cramped, but KiAera was grateful for the light provided by the glowing crystal creature and her own fiery tail tip. She kept up with the Big Osseod and the egg, and she couldn't help but wonder where the tunnel led.
Suddenly, her ears twitched, and she shuddered as an electrifying shock rippled through her. She staggered, pursing her lips as a headache manifested. She winced when a voice whispered in her head.
