Richard and Reginald made their way to land on the metallic object in front of them. Richard fell on his butt while Reginald landed on his feet. Once they got their footing across, the two looked down at the orange glow below them, which appeared to be the core. Reginald figured this could be the weak spot, and, wanting to play it safe, took out his staff and lowered it down to the heart. When he pulled it back out, he found the object melted in no time. The panels on the sides covered up the center and shook to get the men off it. The two jump off and land on the ground with minimal issues.
Richard and Reginald found themselves near the cops, who hid behind their cars. When the two looked up, their eyes widened upon finding themselves face to face with a giant cube, with long arms. The object let go of the building, transforming into a giant mechanical robot.
“Think you can beat me?” Carlos’s voice echoed from the robot as he taunted the group. “I thought up everything to get our way!”
The automaton shot lasers from its eyes, aiming at the brothers. Richard and Reginald split up and ran at opposite ends to avoid the collision. Cops shot at the mech with their weapons, but the bullets ricocheted off the metal. The cyborg charged an electric ball and hurled it toward the police cars. The cops took cover and made a run for it away from their vehicles, right before their rides blew up and flung across the city streets.
“Why would you do that?” Reginald asked the cops. “Why’d you think shooting at metal would be a good idea?!”
“We’re trying here!” James insisted. “We’re running out of options!”
Reginald took his suitcase and grabbed all his weapons out at once. He started with the shurikens and tossed them toward the robot’s neck like a boomerang. He ended up missing the trajectory of the swings and only hit its sides, which had no effect on it.
While the robot charged up another attack, Reginald took out his burnt staff and switchblade. He used a rope to tie them together and make a spear. The automaton opened some of its compartments to release black rocks. Reginald used the spear to block out and bounce them off, making them hit the metal suit. He squinted his eyes; it appeared he made some dents on the mechanical suit.
The droid charged another attack, this time using both hands, to create a plasma ball and toss it at the nearest empty building. The collision exploded as the wind pushed most people back. Others stood their ground and tried their best not to fall.
“This is insane!” Richard exclaimed. He peeked his head from the planter wall and examined the battle from a distance. “What are we going to do to beat this thing?”
Reginald was about to complain, when he switched glances between himself and the droid, his face brightened up.
“I got an idea! Richard, distract him while I attack and cut down his size!”

“Wait, what? Why me? And how am I supposed to do that?”
“You’re the one they want. You’re one of those things, aren’t you?”
“I’m pretty sure what he means is to transform.” Fawn pointed out.
“Oh yeah, I almost forgot,” Richard muttered. “But here?”
“Everyone else seems focused on fighting that giant,” Fawn reminded him. “I think you’re good to transform here without getting caught.”
“You have a good point. Ok, let’s do this.”
She made a protective barrier to block off the collision and rubble. Richard hid behind the planter wall and transformed into an Usukui Puru once more.
He got out of hiding and presented himself in front of Carlos to get his attention.
“Hey, over here, you wanted me? Come and get me!”
No way, it’s him. The one Usukui Puru we’ve been searching for, the one I need to get back! Carlos’ eyes widened as his grin spread wide. “Stay still!”
Carlos moved the robot forward and chased after Richard across the cityscape. Richard sprinted in the opposite direction, trying not to run into anyone or anything in the way. His heart sped up with every step he took and every second passing, until he reached the edge of the pier and came to a stop. He turned around as the droid closed in on him.
“Looks like you got nowhere else to go,” Carlos said with a sneer.
He extended the robot’s claws and reached out to grab him, but Richard caught them, trying to pull them out from its sockets. When he did this, however, he skidded across the ground; Richard looked down, seeing how close he was to steep water down below. If he fell right now, nobody would save him this time around. No, it won’t happen again. He stood his ground, his grip on the metal getting tighter.
“Huh? Hey, what do you think you’re doing?” Carlos questioned, his voice quivering.
Before he got a response, Richard ripped the arms off the robot. However, he lost his grip as they fell near the water banks. Reginald and the cops caught up with them with their remaining cars. Greg fired a shot with his bazooka while leaning from the rear window. The blast hit the automaton in the back, making it wobble. Carlos tried to turn the mech around and clear the smoke. He struggled to do so because of some malfunctioning parts in the operating system.
Reginald got up on the car roof and leaped into the air. Wielding his spear in his hand, he grabbed hold of the top of the robot’s body and climbed up to the neck and head. Once he got to the head, he pulled a smoke bomb from his pockets. He found the ear socket and tossed it in there. The smoke bomb got into Carlos’ main engine room and exploded, causing smoke to appear and block his vision. Carlos coughed up a lung as he tried to clear the smoke out of sight.
Once that was taken care of, Reginald jumped back down towards the neck area. He received his weapon and sliced the neck area as the air gave out, about to fall apart. Reginald slid down and made it back to the ground. He then used his spear to take a jab at each of the legs, immobilizing the automaton and making it unable to move. He stepped away from its shadow and turned back to face it. However, while the neck was gone, its head stayed intact and on top of its body.
Richard took this opportunity to fight them back once it turned its back. From the corner of his eyes, he could spot the fallen robotic arms. He extended his arms to reach and grab them. Richard turned to face the robot before leaping into the air. With the mechanic's arms in tow, he smacked the bionic head with them, careening it toward the pier. Carlos’ blood flared up to a breaking point as he slammed his control panels. In a fit of rage, he made a last-minute charge. The automaton still stood, but barely. Richard had to do something fast. But what?
