Episode 11 (Part 2)

The trio looked around for a nice refreshment in the meantime. They found a small, fast-food restaurant called The Hungry Scarf. A compact area where the brown and white checkered floor clashed with the beige-colored walls. An attendant with orange hair stood in front of the counter providing service.

Fawn asked for a drink as well; she explained that some ghosts can still drink and feel objects from the touch of their hand. As Richard looked over the menu, his stomach grumbled at the selections they had. He shrugged and figured he’d order something for himself as well. The attendee didn’t know what to think about the large order from this single person, but didn’t question it either, since it’s part of her job. The group took a small table from the corner near a window sill and sipped on their beverages.

Fawn looked around and didn’t see anybody else present in the area. “Did we come too early? Where is everybody?”

“Perhaps it’s closing time?” Ashley pondered.

“Let’s not worry about that now.” Richard reminded them. “Right now, we’re going to discuss the disappearance of Ashley’s parents.” He slammed his hands on the table. “Let’s get started, shall we?”

“Alright!”

“The slamming is unnecessary.” Fawn pointed out.

“Even the smallest of details can help,” Richard mentioned, ignoring Fawn’s comment earlier. “First off, do you know the names of your parents?”

“Nope,” Ashley said.

“Great start,” Fawn uttered with sarcasm.

Stolen story; please report.

Richard glared at Fawn briefly before clearing his throat and calming down. “Ok, do you at least know what they look like?”

Ashley cocked her head a bit. “Well, let me see if I can remember...”

“You mentioned that I met one of them already, so...”

“I’m pretty sure one is a blonde, and the other is a brunette.”

“So, by process of elimination,” Fawn said, “Would your parents happen to be Ken and Kelly?”

“I’m not sure, I don’t remember their actual names.” Ashley shrugged.

“Do you at least know where they live?” Richard asked.

“Not in particular,” Ashley murmured. “But, I know people that can help us, I just need to find them.” She got up from her seat. “Is it alright if I go to the bathroom?”

“Oh, well, do you want me to accompany you?” Richard asked.

“No thanks, I’m good.” She replied and left for a moment.

Richard sighed and rested his elbow on the table. “That girl sure is lively.”

“Yeah, I’ll say,” Fawn added.

“Hey, do you think it’s true?”

“What is?”

“Not only are those two married, but they have a child?” He rested his hands on his chin. “Why haven’t they mentioned her beforehand though?”

“Perhaps they didn’t need to discuss it, not even near your—”

“But something isn’t right.” Richard interrupted. “I remember Kelly and I were at the bar the other day, talking about our problems and feelings. But did those fights she had with Ken have anything to do with Ashley?”

“I’m not sure,” Fawn replied, crossing her arms. “I mean, she can’t even remember their names.”

“Well, maybe she has a bad memory? You don’t know that.”

“I guess so.”

The two waited for Ashley to return, but she had taken a while. Fawn excused herself and headed off to go search for her. When she reached the room, she found the stalls empty. She flew around, her eyes darting around. Where could she have gone? Fawn left the place to search for her whereabouts.
